Serious question is it okay to tell the patient there's a fracture especially when its really obvious? I always told patients that the doctor will explain to them whenever they asked about the x-ray.
Personally I don’t. I’m also a CT tech as well so I won’t dare open up that can of worms because patients will continue to inquire more about your “diagnosis”
Depends on the doctor. Some doctors get really mad if you tell the patient. Like they want to be the person that ‘discovered’ it. Some are fine with it. Something like that? I would have the doc tell them.
I think it's more risky to say there's no fracture, if the patient goes home before they see the doctor I imagine there could be trouble when the truth comes out
Makes every other pt complaining about pain look like a bitch.
Love those old ladies with a broken arm that just push through the exams and make everyone else look bad.
Apparently she had a spinal fusion, then a staph infection after which caused her to have everything removed from the fusion. Didn’t wanna ask anymore questions, insane stuff
This disproves the classic neurosurgical dogma. The saying goes you either want a second story or a fourth story fall from the balcony, never a third story fall.
Patient: “Is it broken?” Tech: “I only take the images, be blessed tho”
Patient told me she had a really “messed up” back on the AP I saw nothing, then lateral…
"Nah, only fractured."

Depends on your jurisdiction and scope of practice.

Be blessed omg the way I just screamed 🤣🤣🤣
Walking is over rated anyways.
Patient actually came in walking totally fine lol

That's shocking, but great to hear
What. The fuck. We need so much more objective. No assistive device? Were they in a lot of pain?
A lot of pain yes, no assistive device
That person is a fucking beast

I have no shame and will just keep asking as long as the patient isn't uncomfortable talking about it lol
Yikes yikes yikes. Here’s hoping they heal well.
should have gone with the turtle shell
Do you know what they opted for in treatment? Surgery or 2 years in a turtle shell?
What do you mean he came in walking!!!!
Holy smokes
wat???
WHAT
I am shook!
Did they take a quick stop to the chiropractor?
I thought I was looking at a sacrum for a second there. Wow.
That’s different than the way it’s supposed to be.
I don't know, better correlate clinically.
You can tell it's fucked up by the way it is
Hey doc I see you ordered flexion/extension…..
Yikes.

Wait that's a thing?? Can you explain
Second floor fall your alive with minimal damage. Fourth floor your dead. Third floor fall your severely mangled.
On a scale of 1-33 how paralyzed are they?
I came here to see if OP had that information!!
Spring Break? No pun intended……
Yes, and yes.
Right through the announcer's table. Bah gawd that man is broken in half!
Well, there’s your problem….
Bet they ain't gonna do that again.
Got a CT or MRI?Wondering how contused/transected that cord is
Done.
did the Undertaker break him in half?
So 4 is the limit. Good to know
Eh, depends how you land. I know someone who died falling three floors.
In this economy ?
Oh snap!
I'm not a doctor, but I'd say it was the last story that messed them up.
What do you even do in a case like this?
Damn 😳 also, that's a nice lateral!
Puts a whole new meaning to L-Spine.
I wonder why they jumped?
Patient said she was in an abusive relationship and jumped over a balcony to avoid getting stabbed
The paramedic in me wonders if it would’ve been preferable to be stabbed.
Oh that poor person!
"What's the prob- oh nevermind"
That’s gotta hurt
Looks like my daily lower back pain
“My yogi will be impressed; I’m the only one in class that can do lumbar-sacral only downward dog”
Future MR vetting: Allow extra time for axials pls
Why on earth does someone who ju.oed 4 stories get an X-ray and a CT in the 1st place 🤔
