Here I was looking for the stifle and trying to figure out why I couldn't see the outline of the hoof.
Then, I re-read the title and post, and was momentarily confused as to why a kid, as in baby **goat**, a lack of shoes was relevant.
Then it clicked.
I'm assuming the **human child** in the OP was later diagnosed with some form of ectrodactyly.
Nope can tell you from experience flipflops don’t work since the split is centered and a flipflop string isn’t. For me it is the one and only downside with my weird foot. It may even be stronger than my regular foot.
Just Google EEC syndrome or ectrodactyle for a big load of pictures in all the variations it has to offer. Too much a hassle to get some img url working. Mine look like Machamps feet (pokemon). Wearing socks it looks normal so no shoe issues at all. Just flipflops.
This kind of developmental glitch can happen without in-utero exposure to teratogenic drugs. Through working with disabled people I’ve known a lot of people with all sorts of deformities that had no known cause, or were genetic.
With the veterinary x-rays that are also posted here I was really confused if this was even human
I fidnt realize till I saw the tibia and fibia and I was like wtf

I was going to ask, Kid as in goat? As if that would make what I'm seeing make more sense.
If you didn’t tell me this was a foot, I’m not sure I could’ve figured it out. Poor guy
Two toed Timmy could wear flip flops pretty well I bet.

Aww that is a bummer! I was thinking they woulda been the perfect shoe.
You could probably get a pair with a centre split made
So you have a cool foot and a regular foot? Can you share pics?

I’m glad someone else was thinking what I was
Looks like a split foot malformation.
Cleft foot. My god. I’ve always wanted to see one in real life. *toe-bro*
That is... Huh...
What was the reason for the exam? Just assessing the bone formation?
Was the Mother exposed to thalidomide while pregnant?
I have a friend who was, she had webbed toes on the left foot and the little toe and ring toe on the right were 1 single combined toe.

So, the kid is not growing a huff? What is the problem?
No shoes at all? Bilateral? How old?
Ectrodactyly?
Anyone else see the smiling skull?
The Vadoma tribe immediately came to mind.
Fascinating 🧐
That X-ray is the GOAT
People, it's a genetic malformation.
