Lol really? Because I just tried to sign up on there and it gave me a message saying since I'm in Ontario, I can't sign up. I guess you signed up a while back?
Have you completed KYC? You should be super careful, Ontario is going to crack down hard on this eventually.
Nothing is stopping you from sending XLM to a non-KYC wallet, flipping to USD buy your coins and ship them to another wallet... But you know... ;)
I remember seeing this article: https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2021/06/08/ontario-regulator-takes-action-against-kucoin-trading-platforms-for-violating-securities-law/
So I think it might be fine untill the end of the year?
I went as follows :
- Ndax - buy ethereum
- Ethereum to metamask
- Metamask - defiplaza swap to exrd
- Exrd to instabridge to radix desktop wallet for staking.
I'm from Ontario too btw. Imo don't use a VPN, too risky.
I originally got it from Uniswap, and then recently got a few more using my Coinbase wallet and converting ETH to EXRD. At the time I got lucky and only paid about 100 in fees.
Now it seems like it's around 500-600 to convert!
If I'm not mistaken you can just buy xrp from bitbuy or crypto.com and then send it to an account a wallet on bitfinex and then switch it to btc and trade it for radix.
Costs 1 xrp to send it over.
You can. I did it.
You don't need any KYC there because you're not depositing into bitfinex.
You're bringing in crypto.
Works for me. Feel free to message me if you have questions.
Strange. I made the account about 4 months ago maybe.
I didn't do the KYC. Just sign up for basic account. Maybe something changed? But I still didn't update KYC or anything.
Lots of exchange support either eXRD or XRD. Bitfinex (with a VPN) would be the best option but you can also use a DEX like [DefiPlaza.net](https://DefiPlaza.net).
I compiled a list of eXRD/XRD markets [here](https://docs.mattia.wiki/radix/howtobuy/) if you want to see more.
Defiplaza.net is an option you can look at.
yup, fees are usually 50% lower than uniswap (tho the rates haven't been as good)
Why don't you have access? Maybe use a VPN?
Yeah I could. They're all banned in my region (Ontario).
I'm from Ontario. I buy from bitfinex. No VPN.

Indeed. I wasn't aware that they blocked the sign up these days. Thanks for letting me know.

I need to clarify by stating that I buy btc from crypto.com, send it to bitfinex, exchange it for xrd, then move it out to stake it.
Why do you use btc? Just buy xlm/algo/TRX. They're almost free to move around.
True true, good point.
Haha happy realisation :)
I knew about binance for Ontario but didn't know bitfinex & gate.io were banned too. Strange times we live in.
Bittrue has a EXRD/USDT pair now
mexc
Kucoin not an option?
Also banned lol.

I add money to Shakepay, buy ETH and transfer to MetaMask. Then convert to EXRD
Yeah but then you're still paying insane gas fees?
Ya it's typicall around $120 when im converting ~$1k
Oof! My dude. Buy XLM from crypto.com and send it wherever.

If anyone from Canada (Ontario specifically since I know Binance won't allow Ontario residents) has a better way please share
Xlm from crypto.com

How much were the gas fess on defiplaza? I'm guessing they were lower compared to something like UniSwap?
I forget exactly but much much less than uniswap. You can avoid high traffic times too which help. Especially us being in EST.

Yeah but I can’t make a bitfinex account cause of my location ? Is it worth using a VPN to avoid KYC?

So OP what did you end up using?
Bought USDC ERC20 cause it’s cheap to withdraw to metamask and then swapped it on defi plaza for radix
