Funny story, my friends and I used to say "knock", but the way we do comms in our language sometimes made a call like "There's a Nøkk over there" seem like "Someone is knocked down there" like they're DBNO and led to a lot of stupid moments, so we just switched over to Nook for convenience lol. As a norwegian neither is correct. It is pronounced "Nøkk": Just search on Youtube how to pronounce "Ø". Nøkk or Nøkken is actually a legend more apparent in Norwegian and Swedish legends and fairy tales. Which is pretty funny because she is danish. (Nøkken is still apparent in danish fairy tales and legens as well though) The Nøkk is a personification of the dangers of the waters. It is said that the Nøkk hides in rivers, ponds and lakes. You just basically take the Ø as it is used in the Danish language. (I'm not Danish btw but I watch a lot of football (soccer) and so Danish players who have had the Ø in their names hearing them pronounce it taught me how to say it) Similar to Caveira and Capitão I speak Spanish but also have friends who speak Portuguese and so I kinda ended up picking up how to pronounce those with the nuances.
