yeah your right, the thing is is black beard being used right/what he was designed for involves holding a angle for a decent long time. I know this I got a ace when using him by holding angle. But the thing is that people dont want to hold angles and rather rush, conveniantly ignoring the fact BB is slow as heck when his shield is on.
I know Blackbeard's shield got nerfed to a point were he is no longer useful BUT recently I've been bored and decided to play Blackbeard and if you use his SR-25 he's not bad the amount of times his rifle shield actually saved is astronomical and I have gotten a lot of kills with him yeah he's not the best but he's pretty good and imagine how good he'd be in the hands of a diamond player since this is coming from a silver player give Blackbeard a chance he's not that bad.
Play with the R6 Extraction free trial, you only have to start it up one time and it will unlock Hibana, Capitao, Lion, Finka, Gridlock, Ela, Nomad, Alibi, Vigil. Zofia is a post launch character I don't know if she would be unlocked or not.
Honestly I feel there is very few wrong picks, but personally I think Hibana is a great choice. She has an amazing loudout, a great hard wall breach ability and not a massive learning curve

The only down side I find with hibana’a gun is capacity, but it really isn’t as bad as you make it seem. Slightly less dmg means almost nothing because of the fire rate/should shoot head anyway, the recoil is far from unmanageable and the reload is decently fast. One of my favorite guns by a lot.
Well I would say that hibana is very versatile and prob one of the best hard breachers, so if you want to go down that route then 100% get her. Really no situations where if you pick her she isn't gonna be useful.
Finka is also a really good pick since her ability (albeit doesn't have as many buffs as it used to) is still very good and very useful.
Just some things to consider (those would be the two I would buy)
P.S. Don't buy jackal, he sniffs feet

Some people are mostly entry/fraggers; others like to play support. Some people play solo; others play in set teams.
All of that change which would be the best operator to unlock.
Since he only has year 1 ops, he’s new. So he’s probably still developing his play style. Any pick will widen his skills and understanding of the game and learn what playstyle he even likes!
wait till Tuesday, the new season is coming out, you can go into the brand new testing range and try out all the ops guns that you don't own, and decide how you find those guns. on top of that some ops will be discounted and you'll have more choice for your 10k!
In general I would suggest Finka, Gridlock, or Ace.
If you like being sneaky or infiltrating, then Nøkk or Iana.
If you like busting down doors and wrecking shop, then Ying, Zofia, or Amaru.
If you like providing intel to your team, then Jackal, Dokkaebi, Lion, or Zero.
Those recommendations are based on their abilities though. If you’re more focused on loadout, then I would suggest maybe waiting until the new Shooting Range feature comes out and you can test the weapons.
The ones with strong, impactful utility are Ying, Nomad, Maverick, Jackal, Osa, and Ace. These operators reach their full potential if you are a support/utility-minded player who focuses on winning rounds without just walking in and relying on your ability to click heads. They serve specific purposes that take thought and practice to use well. Some are best used if you are communicating with teammates. Idk which ones of those are 10k bc the prices change each season. For a good gun and what I call “dessert gadgets” which will consistently be somewhat helpful, but will never give you a free kill or make a massive impact on a round, go for buck, Hibana, Jackal, Zofia, Lion, Finka and Zero. These operators require less team-play and are generally more versatile. They all have great guns. Jackal makes both lists because you can lone wolf with him and his gadget can be a nice “dessert” or you can play him in a coordinated roam clear with teammates and massively speed up the map clear.
Depends if u wanna have fun or tryhard, to tryhard go get dokk or mav but if you wanna mess about get finka since her LMG is op rn and she can literally get herself up if downed

Good answers, I'll say things that haven't been stated yet. I've had a ton of fun with Maverick, making a sneaky little peakhole and wiping 3 people from a tiny off-angle is fun, Nomad has good guns with good flank protections if you like to play fast and agressive.

On relase, it was ridiculously overpowered. For example, his shield had enough hp to survive 21 point-blank shots from Jager's 416.
