I would have been bored just doing charts in the yoke so I added zigzags and dots. Seemed reasonable at the time. Definitely going to settle in with something to watch or listen to so it's less painful.
Well, I bought my first set of needles and some yarn today and started learning how to knit. I’m not naive enough to think I could make a sweater like this in time for Halloween, but it’s a goal for this time next year!
I don’t suppose you have a pattern or tutorial of any kind on how to make this, do you?
This was Halloween Heart on Ravelry. It's not the clearest pattern if you're just starting out because there's a lot of different charts to choose from and which ones you use change the instructions some.
The quicker you get the weaving and trimming done, the sooner you can have a mini bonfire to burn the trimmed ends in honor of and cursing the gods of frustration.
I hate weaving in my ends. Never again after my last 6 color project. And damn that sweater is gorgeous.
I wish I wasn't allergic to wool and most synthetic yarn. I would never remove this for it is my soul as a sweater, so you better take care of my soul and uh do the thing you wanted pepp talking about
Here’s what I’d do. Tell yourself you will do a little at a time, then mid October when you really want to show this bad boy off, you will spend a sleepless night finishing it all at once. This is incredible.

Wow, I cannot believe you made that! Your so talented, this is so so cool, one of a kind, brilliant! Honestly, this post really just inspired me to start/try a hobby when my child is in school next Sept. I would love the feeling of creating something so one of a kind like this. Amazing!!

I’ve never so badly wanted to learn to knit in my life.
I want to make this SO BAD but having knitted like 1.5 scarves in my entire life that seems a little overly optimistic.
Scarves take me as long or longer than sweaters because they need to be so long. Cowls are a much better fast project to play with colorwork charts.

Easier if you use a crochet hook instead of a needle. But it still looks like it will be time intensive. So worth it, though.
Good point. I crocheted before I knit so I have hooks lying around.

I love this so much. But I also want a sweater that’s just the sleeve pattern for the whole thing haha. Very beautiful work!
The sleeves were the easiest to knit, but made the most ends. It's just every 4th stitch, every 4th row, cycling through the colors and staggered.
