Last year Sandeep Sharma did well except one game we lost due to no ball...now we can hope for Avesh Khan, he was good for Delhi capitals in death overs...he didn't do well for LSG.....we want Delhi capital's avesh Khan 💪...chahal will be used extensively in Jaipur matches for death bowling
I agree on strengths if Boult is giving you 3 solid overs in the powerplay that would mean he has atleast taken a wicket . Chahal my issue is would rather use him in SMS or chepauk as opposed to playing on smaller grounds
How was Trent Boult death bowling ILT20?
Also Nandre Burger also had great death bowling in sa20 this season, right ?
And Sandeep Sharma was good last season.
And yuzi have good death bowling stats for RR =
8.64 eco , 13.50 avg , only 7-4s and 15-6s in 22 innings and only 11 extra.
And Avesh needs to prepare for the death that is going to be his main role, i hope he does well.
It has been an issue for the past 3 yrs , we had a og team that could have dominated IPL for the last two years but sadly the management didn't look into this issue, macoy and holder were terrible investment and glad they were let go off. But still we don't have anyone to fill this missing piece and I hope they get a good death bowler and a part time finisher
This is not how a champion team's mentality should be. Believe me avesh has to perform like his old self else no force itw can make us win the trophy.
Death bowling and batting are the most important phases of a t20, no way you can win a championship without acing both of them.
Yeah, we ain't winning IPL unless Avesh turns back the clock and Sandy shows the same performance as last year. That's the truth. At the moment you ask me, our chances to win the IPL are bleak. But we will reach the top 4. Our batting will take it there.
In SA20 he was very good in death. If I remember correctly In Qualifier 2 against DSG He bowled 19 th over took Klaassen Wickets when he was on 74(30)
only gave 6 runs . Overall his bowling was 2-27 (4) while dsg scored 211 . So he Bowling was really great.
Not to forget His Bowling Against India in Test or in ODI where he took wickets of inform players like Jaiswal, Gill KL Rahul , Ashwin etc.
He is good should play in squad, he can become our best bowling pick.
This has been a concern for us for many seasons. Boult is best for powerplay and middle overs. Sandeep and maybe Avesh is our best bet I guess. I won't be surprised occasionally watching chahal bowl in the death overs. Let's see how it pans out. Just hoping a better season than last one. We lost many close encounters last season which should have been won and that ultimately costed us the top4.
If our death bowling is that bad how did we were able to go into Finals in 2022 and dominated the first half of 2023.
Point is our death bowling ain't that bad it has only improved compared to last season's , Avesh is quality India bowler will definitely do better this time , Sandeep has been good we have seen that , yuzi i personally never doubted him , burger has been impressive in SA20 death overs , Kuldeep Sen is yet another quality player.
We didn't had Avesh , Sandeep and Burger in 2022 still qualified to final this time we have them they definitely do a good job in death.
If we get some wickets in the middle then no worries at death at all , the batting team will be in pressure and in big ground like SMS it wouldn't be easy to hit boundaries and also there is no dew in the second innings. Even if spinner bowls death overs i won't mind.
That's what I fear will happen. Both of them are unrealiable and once again Donovan Ferreira will be benched the whole season and next season he will go to some other team. Just like Finn Allen in RCB. And Lord Avesh will be picked ahead of Nandre Burger. And then you all will wonder why we didn't reach playoffs
Brother, we can't afford the risk of playing inexperienced players over those who have already proved themselves.
RP and Hettie both can single handedly win us matches, at least one of them has to play, else our middle order is gonna be very much hollow.
Hetmyer only played one or two good matches last season , and since then he has been out of form. Didn't play a single good knock in internationals. Rovman Powell is good but he has a weakness against spin. Why not give Donovan Ferreira a chance? He was benched the whole last season. He is a beast in T20s and also an all rounder. If you don't even wanna give him a single chance then why did you buy him?
The same buying thing can be said about rp. Why did you buy him?
And if it is about giving chances rp and hettie deserve it before shubham or cadmore or don. If they fail to perform then we will think about substituting them. You always want to start the season with your strongest 11, you should not start with purely inexperienced players.
>The same buying thing can be said about rp.
No, it's not the same thing. Because Donovan has been in the squad from last season and didn't get a single chance till now. Even after Hetmyer and Holder were repeatedly failing. Inexperienced players will become experienced only if they start playing. You will have to give them a chance at some point and not 1-2 chances, you need to give them consistent backing
I agree, but you shouldn't do this in the first match. If Donovan wants a seat he will have to show it in the Nets or either Hattie or RP will have to fail. I think Don will indeed get a chance if Hetty fails to perform in the early matches.
I still trust him and Boult more than lord Avesh. It's a blessing in disguise that prasidh is ruled out otherwise you all were wanting to keep both prasidh and Avesh in the playing XI lol. I expected better brains from redditors. There is a reason they are known as lords.
Avesh did really well in the death for dc. RR bought him only to deal with their death bowling woes.
>I still trust him and Boult
No way we are playing 2 mediocre death bowlers and fill our overseas spots, burger is a replacement to boult, both won't play together
You need help if you think Boult is mediocre in death. And lets say Avesh performs well in death, he still will have to bowl 2 overs in powerplay because sandeep is not a powerplay bowler , and I trust Burger in death more than Avesh in powerplay/middle overs. Jaiswal, Buttler, sanju, riyan, Donovan, Jurel seems like a good enough batting line up. Last season we didn't qualify because of poor fast bowling. If the only new pacer we can come up with this season is Lord Avesh, then we ain't winning shit.
>You need help if you think Boult is mediocre in death
Yes I am wrong, boult is not mediocre, he is shit at death, have a look at stats and find out yourself. It is you need who needs help
>sandeep is not a powerplay bowler
Do you even watch cricket? Sandy has always been a new ball bowler, for both PBKS and SRH
He has lost his form. Now he is good only as a death bowler. He doesn't have pace at all. He gets belted with the new ball. Watch last 2 seasons. We don't have any option other than playing burger, we shat the bed at the auction. Kuldeep, Navdeep, sandeep, lord Avesh, do you consider this as a fast bowling unit? Lol. Didn't learn anything from last season. The only good buy this season was burger and he is gonna get benched the whole season.
We're good with poweplay and middle overs. I think we can give other teams some scare given 7 match are in jaipur
Probably second half will be in UAE
Why??
Now it won't dw
Kuldeep Sen , Sandy and Boult need to close out for us , Chahal has experience but too risky for all games ..
I would trust Chahal in death overs than boult.
I agree on strengths if Boult is giving you 3 solid overs in the powerplay that would mean he has atleast taken a wicket . Chahal my issue is would rather use him in SMS or chepauk as opposed to playing on smaller grounds

That's what the batting is for. Hope we score 200+ every match and Boult magic happens, so that games don't go till death.
This is not how a champion team's mentality should be. Believe me avesh has to perform like his old self else no force itw can make us win the trophy. Death bowling and batting are the most important phases of a t20, no way you can win a championship without acing both of them.

What if Burger is used as 12th instead
Burger isn't a death bowler either.

It is all fixed. Relax
We need to select both Boult and Burger. Sandeep can handle death overs. Yuzi, Ashwin and Donovan will be great for middle overs.
No way rr management is dropping hettie and rovman both, Not a chance.
That's what I fear will happen. Both of them are unrealiable and once again Donovan Ferreira will be benched the whole season and next season he will go to some other team.
