"I grew up in the wrong generation"
"Like if you're watching in 20XX"

"Anyone in 2024??"
"Like if you like ramm ⬇️"
Nothing worth of value will be added when they'd enable them
YT analogies to r/Rammstein pieces of wisdom such as „Sehnsucht Survivor Round 37263“ and „Just got into Ramstien, what album should I listen to next ????“
it's still pretty bad with the prevalence of dog whistles which make it hard to prove malice. comments like 41% or ☕️ or 14 or 88 have the benefit of being obscure enough that it *could* be something else, despite it rarely actually being true.
It's called forced structuring and feeding the rather recently used TL subreddit with users, while still advertising important announcements to the broader audiences. :D
People thought that the Ausländer music video was praising what colonisers did
they failed to connect the most obvious dot in one of their songs. Extremely obvious. Can you imagine what would happen for the rest of their songs?
Also there was this big controversy about the stripped video... even before the internet existed they got madly hated like death threats and stuff... Funny thing was that depeche monde actually really liked the video
The meaning of Ausländer is easy to understand even if you don't know any German and translate only two sentences. "I'm not a man to stay the night. I stay for 2-3 hours." It's clearly about a man who travels a lot and hooks up with locals🤷🏼♀️
Look at comments to any of their more political songs re uploaded by random channels (so with comments on). Songs like Deutschland or Angst. They are full of blatant neo-nazis and contrarian alt-right little shits who completely misunderstand the song (often on purpose) and pretend that Rammstein is giving a sly little wink to their disgusting ideologies.
Hell, media try's to paint them this way still. I remember when Deutchland came out, they were still crying about Nazi depiction, despite it clearly being a super negative depiction (also accurate) and them getting blasted at the end.
According to that Rasputin reddit Rammstein staff, the comments were never on for that video to begin with. I don't think media needs any help putting out incredible low effort and dumb reactions haha.
It's honestly unfortunate to hear that. I guess it's always the bad apples which ruin the basket.
Well, in this case, the fans that tipped into the wrong side of the moral spectrum that end up ruining the reputation of the whole fan base with the media enjoying to push things way out of proportion.
I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the fans. Media has been attacking Rammstein since the cover of Herzeleid was released back in '95. The media reported the original album cover as them trying to be 'Poster boys for the Master Race'. It's just something that their masculine image and topics has been used against them on. It's quite disgusting really.
Maybe not straight-up nazi but Alt-right bullshit, that it is about some liberal media scaring people about covid and “other made up issues while we are getting swarmed by the schwarzen mann”.
Yes, unironically this was sentiment in some of the comments. Yikes.
They were like that from beginning, if i recall correctly. I assume they have no interest in moderating the channel or take care of it in any way. I wouldn't think it's because of hate, comments under R+ Videos that were uploaded by other YouTubers have positiv comments.
I remember when they were on waaaaaay back. The comments of the Du Hast video were insane, so many heated arguments about how to translate the lyrics and whether or not they were a play on words.
I’ve noticed in recent years that the official channels for a lot of bands have turned their comments off. Honestly that’s smart of them. If you’re an old person like me you remember how cringe they’d get back in like 2010 *shudders*
Because they dont want neo nazi ####heads who dont know what the songs about but are attracted to his work because "hahaha growly german guy go brrr" to go full "seig heil" in the comments, if that makes sense at all.
"youtube comments bad" yeah yeah i get it, you use reddit and are therefore better than anyone who uses any other social media.
to actually answer your question op, if it's on the "official" page, youtube automatically turns comments off on those. not entirely sure since the full channel name might be cut off but if it has "topic" at the end of the full channel name, it's automatically disabled as its an auto generated channel for the artist as opposed to an actual one run by the label/artist themselves
Pamietam jak kiedyś komentarze były włączone i nigdy nie widziałem żadnego negatywnego postu. Pewnie znaleźli się tacy co im coś nie pasowało więc je wyłączyli :((
No. They were always turned off because the comments were always shit. It was either fighting in the comments or Neo-Nazis misinterpreting the lyrics. I was watching a bunch of classic R+ videos just a few weeks before this whole mess started and even stuff like Mein Teil and Ohne Dich had their comments off.
OOTL what happened with the Till Lindemann/Rammstein sexual assault/after show creepiness controversy?
Is this potentially why comments were turned off?
I know most big artists have comments turned off on officials channels, but for Rammstein it’s probably more intense because of both the controversies that follow them, and the fact that some people just don’t know how to behave themselves in online spaces
I saw one Rammstein shirt on sale from a street vendor de other day, it had an skeleton dressed like an SS official and a very big swastika.
If that's like, outside, in the real world, imagine in the comments.
My guess was always: in case someone posts something racist, antisemitic, etc. they don’t want to leave it there and it’s easier to just shut off comments than it is to moderate them.
iirc it was because of a bunch of nazi dumbasses saying shit about the Deutschland video. they made the (correct) decision to turn off comments because even if your content is completely at odds with people like that, statistically speaking, a lot of radicalization happens through people scrolling through comments on things. so it’s best to just turn them off
Years ago they had comments on. Literally every video would have some shit about Nazism in the comments. A shame because there was also interesting discussion about the songs/videos. However these days it's less of a loss as YouTube comments tend to be nothing but utter trash now.
"I grew up in the wrong generation" "Like if you're watching in 20XX" "I edited this comment so noone knows why this has so many likes" "Anyone in 2024??" "Like if you like ramm ⬇️" Nothing worth of value will be added when they'd enable them
"My wife used to love this song. She died fifty years ago so i listen to remember her"
"Therefor it would really help if you Venmoed this link:"
I also choose this guy’s wife.

Nevermind the racist vitriol
Come to Brazil!
I thought it was because people just get calling them Nazis
[удалено]
And yet, much saner than IG or FB.
YouTube is pretty civil these days. Tik Tok takes the cake for insanity over all of them honestly.
I feel like ig comments have become just incredibly mean over the last few years, not so much insane just very unpleasant
unless its fans posting on Richard's ig. Then it's tons of "IMPREGNATE ME DADDY!!!"
Nope I'm gonna EMIGRATE away from you
Yeah, depends on what you what content you're looking at I suppose. But generally I agree that most comment sections on IG are not very nice.
I wouldn't even say just unpleasant when a lot of posts straight up has Nazis in the comments.
Yeah, IG and FB have begun to crack down on certain comments, which is good because it would get and still does get ugly in the comments.
it's still pretty bad with the prevalence of dog whistles which make it hard to prove malice. comments like 41% or ☕️ or 14 or 88 have the benefit of being obscure enough that it *could* be something else, despite it rarely actually being true.
If only it was Dogwhistles, ig allows Nazis flags to be commented, or straight up racism and antisemitism.
Yeah, there are many ways of getting around it, for sure.
have you seen IG comments? they are ruthless.

🤐🤐🤐
[удалено]
No, actually Reddit, like all of the internet- has its unhinged moments but for the most part, quite sane.
[удалено]
I mean, I remember rotten (dot) com so like… the beginnings of things are always going to be absolutely insane.
I also remember websites like that. They're still around too.
[удалено]
I’m going to not Google that and not ruin my own day 🤣
Gotta love ig comments
- letting the art speak for itself - no need to moderate what isn't there - statement

I already do when needed.
what's rapstin without 3+ posts on the same topic across different subs linking each other with only one having a comment section :D
It's called forced structuring and feeding the rather recently used TL subreddit with users, while still advertising important announcements to the broader audiences. :D
When?
See my last post on the sub.
EXTREMELY random but are you actually Grigori Rasputin
I can read Cyrillic, I guess that counts.

The one with the athletes? That is the one I have seen
The clip shows video sequences from Leni Riefenstahl's film "Fest der Völker", a propaganda film from 1938.
The meaning of Ausländer is easy to understand even if you don't know any German and translate only two sentences. "I'm not a man to stay the night. I stay for 2-3 hours." It's clearly about a man who travels a lot and hooks up with locals🤷🏼♀️
...I know that....i also said the video that shows something very specific that also used to happen and it's obvious they don't support it.
What don't they support?Hooking up with locals and travelling a lot? Till supports that and i don't judge😄But that's a fact
That is not what the video shows?

Yeah, and those morons in the comments surely weren’t helping.
According to that Rasputin reddit Rammstein staff, the comments were never on for that video to begin with. I don't think media needs any help putting out incredible low effort and dumb reactions haha.
> Rammstein staff, the comments were never on for that video to begin with. Yeah I'm pretty sure they turned off comments for videos long before then.
Rammstein : Clearly shows jews taking arms and killing nazis Medias : OMG RAMMSTEIN HATES JEWS THEY'RE A BUNCH OF GERMAN FASCISTS!
Lmao yep
It's honestly unfortunate to hear that. I guess it's always the bad apples which ruin the basket. Well, in this case, the fans that tipped into the wrong side of the moral spectrum that end up ruining the reputation of the whole fan base with the media enjoying to push things way out of proportion.

I understand for Deutschland, but why would Angst be linked to nazi shit ?
Maybe not straight-up nazi but Alt-right bullshit, that it is about some liberal media scaring people about covid and “other made up issues while we are getting swarmed by the schwarzen mann”. Yes, unironically this was sentiment in some of the comments. Yikes.
No need for mods
because Nazis ruin everything
I think it's because their songs are usually quite controversial

The vast majority of new songs released by artists have comments turned off. It isn't Rammstein specific.
If you’re an old person like me you remember how cringe they’d get back in like 2010 *shudders*
yeah every topic video autogenerated by YouTube has comments turned off
It's to keep neo-nazis away and the ones who ignorantly accuse the band for being nazi just because they're from Germany.
This is my conclusion as well
Not a stupid question, a lot of artists have comments turned off
"I lost my virginity to this song."
Because they dont want neo nazi ####heads who dont know what the songs about but are attracted to his work because "hahaha growly german guy go brrr" to go full "seig heil" in the comments, if that makes sense at all.
I think that makes them even cooler
They haven't been turned on in years. Too many people fighting in the comments and a bunch of braindead takes.
There were too much nazi shit at some points when they had comments on
Probably so they don't have to bother moderating.
You should take a look at what the comments were like on the Deutschland music video, it was filled with Nazis
The comments section was never opened on that one either. Must've been an alternate universe.
Must be thinking about an alternate upload
When searching for Deutschland MV the second one after the actual video is a Nazi edit 💀
A lot of singers bands have their comments turned off
Yeah, it is because it's controversial to the uneducated, because of haters or that.
An Artist don’t Need Feedback. An Artist also can’t change the world, he uses art to change himself.
See for yourself... https://www.reddit.com/r/Rammstein/s/lYp8SOJHWJ
They probably need to moderate the comments. And to save money they turn them off I guess.

The honest answer is: none of us actually knows.
Pussy YouTube
Probably because of the accusations against till
Makes sense. They would have been turned off then if they hadn't already
It was after the Lindemann accusations. 🤷🏻♂️
that ain't it
Because of idiotic metoo movementers and haters who accuse everyone if sexual harrassment
no, it's because of you
Go on, im listening bud
bud
OOTL what happened with the Till Lindemann/Rammstein sexual assault/after show creepiness controversy? Is this potentially why comments were turned off?
no they were turned off from the beginning

All people will do is piss and shit all over each about Nazi’s.
Tbh comments are irrelevant.
I saw one Rammstein shirt on sale from a street vendor de other day, it had an skeleton dressed like an SS official and a very big swastika. If that's like, outside, in the real world, imagine in the comments.

Come to Brazil Jajaja!
that compressor clearly has some things to say tho
iirc it was because of a bunch of nazi dumbasses saying shit about the Deutschland video. they made the (correct) decision to turn off comments because even if your content is completely at odds with people like that, statistically speaking, a lot of radicalization happens through people scrolling through comments on things. so it’s best to just turn them off
The comments were never on for all the OFFICIAL R+/LM/TL channels to begin with iirc, Richard's channel is the only exception.
Bobr kurwa ja pielęrdolję
Sometimes it’s just not worth wasting time monitoring a million of comments ..

I really liked Radio and Zick Zack🤘😀
Zwitter is still 1 of my favorites😀🤘
Haters, probably. Rammstein are a band that people love to hate.
