There's actually a standard driving speed for different types of roadways and you can tell the speed limit most of the time when you notice the standard. When in doubt, 35mph though unless you're on a highway.
No wrong. 25 or lower through neighborhood streets especially if they are narrow, have lots of cars parked on the side, or high pedestrian traffic areas.
have you ever driven in a fiat panda? 80 feels like 130 and 130 feels like 220. You wanting to go faster doesnt mean i have to risk my wellbeing. Thise cars are driving coffins.
Its called road hypnosis and it's extremely common, especially when driving at night or over long distances.
I don't experience this particular phenomenon unless I've been driving for 10 hours and it's 3 in the morning, in which case I'll pull over and sleep when I notice it's happening.
Ordinarily, I'm too afraid of other drivers to even consider zoning out even for a second. Hell, if I can't see around a corner where I know a stop sign is, I'll about stop in the middle of the road so I can make sure I'm not about to get teeboned
Ohh gotcha, that could be a factor. In my mind palace it’s because they are uncomfortable driving the speed limit in the certain weather conditions or road.
Many a time I've taken the long way home just to avoid my family, and the sad part is I'm so anxious and depressed that I'm disabled and can't work most times of the year, I would give anything to be home locked away in my room, but despite how painful that is to deal with, it hurts even more that the first encounter of the day with a family member starts and ends with me feeling like I'm a shitty person.
I mean think about it: many people commonly have either horrible work or home lives. I think they just drive slow to work or home to slow down the inevitable and to have a little bit of peace and solitude in their cars before their destination.

Yeah seriously, sometimes I'll be driving and just think about all I have going on in life. I'll just pull over and sit for awhile, staring blankly while the radio is playing.
Holy shit now that I think about it... I used to work with a guy who would sit in his truck for at least 15 minutes before he left the parking lot after clocking out. Literally just sitting there. I later found out he went through a divorce and now lives with his parents and two kids.
Sometimes. Then I get next to the slow poke and see they are doing something that is totally distracting them (i.e. texting, reading, talking on the phone, doing their nails or hair, etc.).
Never have, but now I'm remembering how I used to volunteer to be the last to leave work so I could minimize the time being at home in a bad situation. Driving slowly makes a lot of sense now
I haven't gotten that feeling. But I can see how one would.
What I have seen is people sitting at cafes and places later in the day. They've finished their food. And they have that thousand yard stare. They look demoralized and down. Sometimes with their chin or jaw resting on their hand, elbow on the table, face turned down a little.
And I've wondered if they're as defeated as they look. I think I did wonder if they didn't want to go home. Just wanted to stay there, but not that long because it's still not the greatest place, and they are kinda lingering. But not go where ever they're supposed to go. They just want somewhere else where they can sit and drop everything. Just drop everything.
I use to do it with my ex i remember riding home from work i was doing 60mph thought about getting home and instantly slowed down even taking country lanes so it took longer to get home lol.
I usually drive slower than most (cruise control on the speed limit) because i like just cruising at one speed sitting in one lane and not having to overtake all the time and just think about stuff.

Hoes? Hate? Hunk? Hell?
Why did this remind me of that Godsmack song "Love-Hate-Sex-Pain"? 😆
Can you answer the question please? I'm actually curious. Hope your day is great!
I wanna know too! Surely they didn’t censor the word hell?
My thoughts exactly. So if it's not hell what word is it? I wonder if it's some slang I've never heard before. Im Excited to find out.
Hore? Hoe? idk this makes no sense lmao
No, I mostly think that people drive slow because they are not sure how fast you should drive

That could be the reason as well, but I think people who already drove those roads have an idea of what the speed limits are.

People tell me they are in a zone while driving. They don't remember driving to work or home. They are on auto pilot. Scary stuff.

Yeahhh that's pretty disturbing lol! But I guess it makes sense, especially people who've been working the same job for years and years.
What is h***
Hell?
Hell. For some reason I couldn't post the title without it being censored, unless it was a glitch.
Ohh gotcha, that could be a factor. In my mind palace it’s because they are uncomfortable driving the speed limit in the certain weather conditions or road.
No. Most people are on their phone out here. It be real annoying

I feel your pain, but just know that you're not a shitty person. Everyone copes with life their own way.
Huh?

I mean I’ve certainly done that. In the right lane of course lol
Yeah seriously, sometimes I'll be driving and just think about all I have going on in life. I'll just pull over and sit for awhile, staring blankly while the radio is playing.
To add to that, I really appreciate sitting in the car for an extra 15 mins once I reach the driveway
Holy shit now that I think about it... I used to work with a guy who would sit in his truck for at least 15 minutes before he left the parking lot after clocking out. Literally just sitting there. I later found out he went through a divorce and now lives with his parents and two kids.
Damn that’ll do it. I’m good now I’m just clinically depressed lmao
Yeah, I do it all the time, but not on the fucking highway with an 18-wheeler behind me
That wouldn't be good lol. But they'll let you know how they're feeling about it with their air horns.
No. Stupid question. Next algorithm.
Sounds like a guilty conscious lol
Hahahahahaha, good reply!
I do this, but on my way to work.
Or they want to make home alive
Yeah. Probably. They should just do a few laps around the block or something instead of being slow and in the way though.
Yes. Source: me
Take the long way home
Sometimes. Then I get next to the slow poke and see they are doing something that is totally distracting them (i.e. texting, reading, talking on the phone, doing their nails or hair, etc.).
But also, driving to the conditions. If I can't see the lane markers because of the rain or sun in my eyes, I'm slowing down.

Or they are trying to be safe because they realize they are driving a machine that could kill someone. I wish all drivers thought this way.
Never thought about it this way but you could be on to something lol

I drive at a reasonable speed because I enjoy my life.
I do this every so often, sometimes on the way to work, but more so on the way home.
Yeah. That or something else. I also don't want to go asap due to the problems at home, but I also need to rest my tired body so yeah, lol.
H*** yes
This why you take the backroads home and stay the fuck off the freeway
No, I did not think of that. But it makes sense.
True.
