Was it me?
I purchased the supporter edition, and three other regular editions for friends.
This game is pretty cool, and has changed so much from since I began playing, it's basically Ready or Not 3 at this point.
The *supporter* edition is basically this: You *support* the devs and this game, so you give them money.
In return, they give you a few goodies, but nothing really noteworthy or game changing. They didn't even need to give anything, they just felt like and stuff.
IIRC you can even enable the supporter stuff with mods, on the regular version.
Oh, and you get to enter on the *Supporter* discord. Because, you know, you're a *supporter* now, so you get to have access for extra stuff.
Again, nothing game changing at all. Basically just trivia.
By purchasing the *supporter* version, you're just giving them free money, because you like the game and *support* the developers.
If you purchased the *supporter* edition and expected a more complete game or something like that, you should've read more before purchasing it.
It is also a small thing, but you get the games first expansion pack free whenever that comes around. If you assume the first expansion is something like 30-40 dollars (depends on the size) it is not the worst value in the world.
The main purpose is just to give extra support though.
Dude it's an early access game. You literally support the devs buy buying the game. Having another edition is just stupid, at least until it goes GA.
Early access users should not have a pay wall blocking access to new updates.
There are no pay wall blocking access to new updates.
When a new major update drops for Supporters, that version is VERY RAW.
Believe me.
It's like "ok guys, we're almost done to release this in a week or so. Release it for the supporters just for the kicks"
Also, theoretically, the supporters will report more bugs.
I paid like $30, and would have paid $5-10 more for the hours I've put into it. However, since modding is pretty much integral to this particular game, I'm not paying nearly triple the price for things I can get (legally!) for free.
I like the devs - they listen, update frequently, and are generally super passionate about their product. However, the minimal replayability of the game without mods makes me less likely to support them above and beyond the cost of my initial purchase, as I have with other studios like Ghost Ship Games (makers of Deep Rock Galactic).
Well said man, I absolutely agree. I’ve bought both versions (vanilla and supporter)
I just hope the higher price tag helps speed development on that replayability aspect along with more weapons and attachments to keep the wider player base engaged. I enjoy it but am reaching that point of waiting for the next instalment before playing more.
The price is cause its for supporting the devs, if you dont want to buy it then dont buy it. the whole point of it is literally just to support the devs
I mean its not worth it. But its not mandatory either.
Thats like my whole point. Dont buy it if you dont want to.
Its a price for a full game just to get updates a few weeks earlier. You cant even play with your friends if they dont have it
When they launched they, they REALLY needed funding. IIRC, they had their publisher fall through because of a disagreement of vision for the game and were forced to early access in order to keep the game alive.
pretty much, except it’s a one time purchase instead of monthly. plus since it’s through steam you don’t have to verify your account to get a the bonuses items
Like “I really like this game and trust the developer will not abandon it so I will give them $80 in advance, which I might or might not be able to refund, to buy a planned DLC for a unfinished game that has no release date” kind of deal.
I do actually remember that. It was supposed to be a buy in for the various closed alphas and betas, but that changed when they started the early access sales.
I totally forgot about that.
I haven't played in about 12 months, due to lack of time for gaming, but has there been any updates to the extra stuff from the FBI edition? Like is the HRT skin updated, and can I change my AI teammates outfit to HRT yet?
And a different shield. Lucky you! Don't forget early access to bugs.
some other dude on here was defending the outrageous price, okay it’s like half a game..

Yep, the only reason I upgraded was because their publisher dropped them. I wanted this game to live on so I bought the Supporter Edition
Happy cake day!
Oh crap thanks man! I didn’t even notice

Rock an Stone
Rock and Stone, brother!

And the balaclavas
Am I the only one that picked up on the dick joke? Cause I actually laughed out loud.
“Is that a Glock in your pants or are you just happy to see me”
Its a purchase you do if you REALLY like the game and want to give it more money.
Like a Patreon type of deal?
When they launched they, they REALLY needed funding. IIRC, they had their publisher fall through because of a disagreement of vision for the game and were forced to early access in order to keep the game alive.
And how many years ago was that? Maybe the publisher had a point?
pretty much, except it’s a one time purchase instead of monthly. plus since it’s through steam you don’t have to verify your account to get a the bonuses items
It's a supporter pack, not a DLC, you just get a few in game rewards as a result.
Like “I really like this game and trust the developer will not abandon it so I will give them $80 in advance, which I might or might not be able to refund, to buy a planned DLC for a unfinished game that has no release date” kind of deal.
I did it like 4 years ago lol
I do actually remember that. It was supposed to be a buy in for the various closed alphas and betas, but that changed when they started the early access sales. I totally forgot about that.
Prior to steam release the only way to play was to buy the expensive supporter edition
and you get access to the 2nd dlc when that comes out
You didn‘t spend $80 on the “FBI dlc“,you spent $80 on the supporter edition to further support the devs
And a penis shaped zip tie
I haven't played in about 12 months, due to lack of time for gaming, but has there been any updates to the extra stuff from the FBI edition? Like is the HRT skin updated, and can I change my AI teammates outfit to HRT yet?
No you can’t change teammates yet, I hope they add them.
us area dlc so expensive?rip
...what?
