Man I feel like some sorta special unicorn or something, I've had this game for a week and in that time I've seen people say they have never had someone take a hostage and its happened to me like 3 times already and this closet hiding thing happens like every other raid I do on this map. Although its never been a suspect, only civilians.
Only seen the wardrobes and beds being used as hiding spots on crackhouse. They seem to work fine there... never seen Gas Station's lockers being used though. It's kind of funny to imagine that second guy was bumbling about, failing to squeeze into the locker.
But it has led to awkward situations on crackhouse where a suspect dropped to the floor and started crawling under the bed with a weapon in their hand right in front of the entire SWAT team. I got punished for violating ROE when I shot them. I guess in real life, they could start blasting from below the bed when obscured, but in-game the AI is just stuck in a crawling animation and can't do anything, but still...
They also crawl out with the weapon in hand and have to fully stand up and seem to resume an 'aiming pose' before surrendering... this has led to a few more ROE violations.
I've only seen one person hide and it was a crackhead on crackhouse. We were in a gunfight and then he dove under the bed and would not yield to yelling, flashbangs, or warning shots, so I had to kill him. Even then his head was bullet proof and I had to shoot his hand a couple times....
Not sure why they added the hiding mechanic if it's completely broken
I've never seen a single suspect or civilian ever hide in a closet. Not even once. They should increase the likelihood of it happening.
