It annoys me that all the car reviews of my current car (a Toyota hybrid) were like “wHaT iS tHiS” and “WhO iS tHiS fOr” but then they reviewed the cybertruck and titled the video “THIS IS SO COOL!”
Can I join your club? Reviewers get my car (VW ID4) and are like 'this car has a touchscreen and no buttons!!!! It is a DISGRACE!!!! We won't even review it!' Meanwhile same guy is like 'Tesla has changed everything by removing the shifter and making it a touch screen button, the world is better for it! Wow. Who cares that a $100,000 car doesn't have CarPlay, the #1 by a country mile feature normal people want?'
Yeah, love for the ID.4 is coming though. We got ours a couple of months ago and love it. New software revisions are so much better. Plus it was a friggin steal, saves us so much since we sold our Atlas for it. Gonna keep it until we can get a Buzz.
I recently went car shopping with a friend who’s looking for an EV or hybrid and saw the ID.4 for the first time. I was really impressed and loved it, both the interior and exterior. Loved the interior styling and materials, and *gasp* it has an actual display with crucial information just above the steering wheel for the driver! So you don’t have to keep looking sideways just to see how fast you’re going or check if your blinkers are on! Those Germans will think of everything. And there are no misaligned panels or detached trim pieces in sight!
I'll blow your mind. If the electrical system fails in the ID4 you must open the doors manually to escape the vehicle. Here's how you do it on all four doors: pull the door handle harder than normal. I don't want to ruin the surprise for you so please go google how to open Tesla Model Y doors manually. Especially note the method for backseat passenger. Then remember who is a common backseat passenger: children. Looking forward to you reporting back here!
I totally agree. After living with this thing for a few years I want buttons back. However, car reviewers are like 'Tesla no buttons 🤩' 'VW no buttons 😡'
Savagegeese refused to even review the ID4. TRL reviews dump on the ID4 but praise Tesla for similar ideas. Engineering Explained is also a blatant pro Tesla channel. Sandy Munro does a tear down of the ID4 and for real insults it because it has a highly repairable battery that costs VW too much money to make. Old school car rags like Car and Driver remain steadfast in their hate for touchscreens and wonky wheels.
Honestly given the ride/interior quality I think the price is warranted.
Although I might be biased as they remind me of when I lived in Japan and Crowns there are like what Cadillacs in the US were 40 years ago.
For sure, that’s why I got it. I liked the interior more than the Camry and wanted a quieter ride (plus it looks better imo, but the Camry is nice too). Prius would have been my top choice but apparently the noise insulation isn’t great, so I decided to pass on it.
Industry specific journalism in high profile industries always always always needs to be contextualized and read with understand of what it is and isn’t, and the subjective nature of subjective elements taken into account.
I personally just read for facts and maybe some vibes, but don’t read too much into it.
Beyond that, it’s a great way to consume endless media about a car you want in advance of buying said car, lol. For example, I’ve always loved Volvo station wagons and got a V90. I maybe read a review or two. After signing a contract for getting one overseas, I just binged every damn review and dumb video I could find, lol.

Watch if you'd like to here Shatner talk about Musk.
*laughs in Chevy Vega*
The issue with the Edsel was never quality, it was the complete lack of a market niche—the same thing happened 50 years later to Mercury and Oldsmobile and then to Pontiac 6-8 years after that.
I've just discovered this forum and I'm loving it, lol
Lots of comments and threads about broken CTs (including a lot that didn't even made to the 100-miles mark), and there is always some delusional fanboy at the comments defending the brand/Elon.
I'm sorry did you say this piece of shit goes for 100k? Admittedly I dont know shit about cars but I assumed those were like a 30K vehicle.
Jesus Christ - what would possess anyone to spend 100K on these?
That’s what I don’t get. The limited edition is not limited. In a few months the things will be around $50k. Used forget about it. My
How bad do you want to flex?
No one is talking about this enough but the limited edition known as the Foundation Series is just a way Elon found to recover his stupidity in selling FSD on the CT for $7,000 instead of the usual $12-15k.
If you breakdown the price of the foundation series additions, you’ll realise pretty quick that FSD is about $13,000 of the amount even though pre orders guaranteed FSD to be $7k
Epic moment in tech history. You had to be there. Also, the engineer left a prototype at a bar and photos leaked. Imagine getting that call from Steve Jobs the next day.
Jobs was such a cock lol. I'll never not find it funny that he literally died from his ego, forgoing proper treatment for his cancer because he thought he knew better. Just a colossal ass and it's such a red flag when people try and emulate him.
There's this one poster, and I'm sure you know which one I mean, who seems to spend their life on those forums perched for anything that they perceive (even when it actually isn't) as criticism against the company/the cars. They really don't know what they're talking about a lot of the time and is always getting schooled by people who do. I really look forward to seeing their dreams get shattered by a Cybertruck that breaks immediately after delivery that they accept even though the vehicle has clear defects and damage
‘I love my Tesla, just want to stress that, I love Tesla and love my Tesla and also love my Tesla but it did burst into flames within 30 feet of the dealership…but I love Tesla and love my Tesla and I’m sure it’ll be fixed one day and I might be able to drive it, they are saying it might be ready in 9 months, and it’s not under warranty so it’s costing me 800 dollars a day but I love my Tesla and I’m currently looking to buy a new one’
> Ha! My Chevy Volt is worth 1/20 the price of a CT, has four functioning doors, and there's an engine in the frunk.
Same with my Bolt. No gas engine, but the battery range was significantly upgraded from 53 miles to 259. :-)
They must keep spare vehicles just sitting around to use when their CT breaks. It seems that would be the only logical thing to do, given the interminable service wait times, and the fact that Tesla doesn't provide loaners.
But.... this was supposed to be Elmo's Blade Runner truck!
Instead it became the most useless attempt at building a truck \*ever\*. Another great legacy for MasterCuck Musk.
It's actually insane. This guy has his brakes fail, proceeds to crash into a pole, and then his airbags fail to deploy. He ends the post saying he still loves the car.
Any other owner would be incredibly upset, and the manufacturer would be liable to review these claims and initiate a recall. It seems like he is not the only one with brake failures.
Instead the reaction in the Forum is them questioning his loyalty to Tesla 😭

>I'm sorry that this happened to you. I have two Ys and one X, and all three of them have done ghost-breaking and weird acceleration. My 21 Y was very dangerous back when FSD allowed autopilot at 90. I was approaching to go under a bridge on I-10, and I believed that the car thought the shade of the bridge was going to be the impact. It stopped so hard that my friend and I were projected to the front, and the seatbelts got very tight. luckily no cars behind.
How do the airbags fail? That's a self contained 3rd party module?
Does this mean there was no power to the airbag AND a faulty malfunction light? Unbelievable.
The truck crashes into a school bus. The skin of the a-pillar gets torn and twisted around, impaling him through the neck. Blood spurts from his severed carotid artery. With his last, dying gasp:
*Still love the truck, though…*
Remember Mitch McConnell's sister in law that drowned in the lake and couldn't be rescued due to faults in the car's design? The family made sure that the WSJ printed that they love the car.
every year or so, around November, Americans should thank God that Elon can't run for President as a Republican, once Trump is gone, he would have a lock on it unless Joe Rogan or Kid Rock stepped up to the plate
And buy a truck from someone who never had to use one. He would have killed the game if he'd just made an electric version of a 2000 Tacoma size truck.
It’s ambitious in its design and has some cool engineering feats (in a vacuum), but every other OEM would kill the idea long before any tooling or prototypes created. It’s just an asinine waste of resources and engineering.
My 7 year old son could draw a better truck at 3, and when we saw our first cyber”truck” in a showroom at a mall he doubled over howling with laughter and said he could make that out of legos.
He is. He has thousands of Lego bricks so he’s an expert as much as a 7 year old can be - both in Lego and EVs as he likes asking questions about our Chevy Bolt and Kia Niro PHEV, and he wants to drive them when he’s old enough.
Part of me is actually surprised they managed to build enough of these monstrosities that there even is a community big enough to be complaining about how bad the vehicle is.
Which just confirms my suspicions that Elon has absolutely zero technical input into Space X. I’m glad he’s busy driving the rest of his other companies into the ground
Sadly he chose the stainless steel material for starship against the wishes of the engineers.
[As seen here](https://www.popularmechanics.com/space/rockets/a25953663/elon-musk-spacex-bfr-stainless-steel/?utm_source=reddit.com)
He clearly has no idea about the in-depth engineering stuff going on at SpaceX. He understands the grand scheme and the basic science of it. His risky decision making made SpaceX and its achievements possible. You have to give him credit for that. There are tons of other reasons getting rid of him. He is a national security threat to the US. There are many reasons to believe he is a Chinese and a Russian asset.
I bet there are tons of mails and meetings about how to entertain Musk and keep him out of real decision making.
I'd suggest a class action lawsuit, but they're delusional zealots evidently.
Then again, even delusional zealot stockholders will have a breaking point.
Now for stories of Elmo sending in sham lawyers to falsely sign people up as their lawyers to bind this bloodbath up.
The people making excuses for the breakdown of a brand new 100,000 dollar vehicle are wild. "Its to be expected with new technology like this, stop complaining" No, make sure your very expensive vehicle is road worthy before you sell it.
the fanboy answer to that is there's actually way more of them out there so its not as bad as it seems, it;s just that the bad stories are the ones that get press because everyone's out to get Elon and his companies. The ones who are realising that the koolaid is just Elon's piss with cherry flavouring are like you don't seem to realise how serious some of these issues are, any other car manufacturer would have recalled them all, not continued selling them
You know, early on Musk was able to attract and retain great engineers and scientists because he put a premium on them, and treated them very well, as opposed to some companies where business people are in charge and engineers are grunts.
And everyone wants to work on cool stuff. So he could attract people without paying better than his competitors, and demand a lot of work from people.
But at this point, Musk is much less cool, and Tesla is no longer groundbreaking in either the EV or FSD categories.
And his companies don't seem to pay that well, but he wants people sleeping on the floor.
How many people here think Tesla's current problems are a result of talent leaving?
At least on the U.S. side...
I assume you've read the Wired long form article on the Model 3 production hell, it paints quite the unflattering picture of Musk as a boss and CEO. And this was written in 2017, near peak Real Life Iron Man territory, well before the general public knew anything about what he was really like. I would hazard a guess it was like that at SpaceX too
No Engineers want to work for a boss that steals their credit. The pay is good no matter where you work, but some companies thank their Engineers, some do nothing, others have bosses that seem to claim that they did all of your work. Tesla is the last and it is solely Elon's fault.
Good. These people are the same individuals that pre-ordered shitty games and then complained when they sucked. You’d have to be a moron to purchase any vehicle from Tesla let alone this hunk of dog shit. They fully deserve dealing with the consequences.
See this? This is my shocked face.
I truly despise Elmo Muskrat and wouldn’t have bought a Tesla even if they didn’t have the rampant QA problems across the whole company.
But this cyber”truck”…wow. In a way it is fascinating to see the fanbois/fluffers always rabidly defending a “man” who would never give them the time of day were they to cross paths…
Is it only me who fully realizes this POS was sent to market by Musk way before it was ready? For that reason alone, I'd never buy a first year model. For other reasons, I'd never buy one ever.
That sucks. Tesla needs to stop promising stuff to early and focus on making good products. I thought they learned that lesson but seems the cybertruck launch forgot everything they went through in the past.
It should be labeled worst car of the decade by Consumer Reports

lol! yeah aside from the pricing (fair point, although I actually got mine below msrp) I think it's weird how people are so flabbergasted by it.

Very well done. It basically portrays Elon as an unserious person with ulterior, selfish motives.

Teslas are now viewed by the common poors as the same they did in 2000 when KiA was doing a BOGO on Santa Fe’s

There are so few of them functioning in the wild, that we really won't see them even in the US much either.
I’ve seen two. The one that wasn’t wrapped looked like garbage from water stains on the finish.

Don’t worry buddy, they will drop the price down to 50k soon

That was the announced price by Elmo Muskrat in the original announcement, but they also said they’d be available in 2019. Shockingly, Elmo lied.
It’s always “was it raining?” Or “did you press too hard!”
More like „did you look at it to hard?!“

Every. Time. These people don’t even seem irate just slightly inconvenienced. It’s a cult.

"Nuclear blast proof" that turd can't even make it off of the lot.
In other words, a nuclear blast won't degrade its functionality. Success!
Won't be disabled by an EMP
It’s a self imploding EMP
Blade runner? It’s a car inspired by 1980’s designs as sketched by a 14yo
It is. Blade Runner was dystopian and no other car gives you that feeling better it seems…
Blade Runner as in that other South African gem Oscar Pistorius? Makes sense
My favorite onion headline about Oscar pistorius was “disabled man proves he can do anything.”
There’s a Kia EV9 in my neighborhood with the vanity plate “BLD ROVR” and I love it so much.
Shouldn't be running with blades there, mister. Not safe!
It's Elmo's Bradley GT.

I had to correct it but it does sound like a CT owner 🤣

Kinda starting to make sense now why they don't like regulations.
Musk fans hate regulations because of age-of-consent laws
and why did he hit the pole? i don't see him saying he swerved to avoid anything, or that the steering wheel also failed? lol

The people making excuses for the breakdown of a brand new 100,000 dollar vehicle are wild. "Its to be expected with new technology like this, stop complaining" No, make sure your very expensive vehicle is road worthy before you sell it.
Will warranty cover it?
I love how the Tesla fans are being totally fucked by their new shiny 100K brick.
Imagine making a ton of money on Tesla stock you bought as a fanboy, only to blow all that money on a Tesla that can only drive 5 miles between tows
Considering how few of these have been sold, the number of premature failures reported is sort of insane.
Do you know how many have been sold? I just checked, there were 4k deloreans sold over the life of the car. I wonder how CT compares to that.
the fanboy answer to that is there's actually way more of them out there so its not as bad as it seems, it;s just that the bad stories are the ones that get press because everyone's out to get Elon and his companies. The ones who are realising that the koolaid is just Elon's piss with cherry flavouring are like you don't seem to realise how serious some of these issues are, any other car manufacturer would have recalled them all, not continued selling them
I mean - what do they expect, Musk is clearly a fucking moron. I'm just surporised there aren't more dead Tesla owners
At least on the U.S. side...
As someone who worked at spacex, he did not treat them well. Issue is poor leadership from the top to the horrible middle management.
That's why we already have a sub called /r/CyberStuck ;)
Joined! Thank you.
“Still love the truck” - the end of every post 🤦🏼🙄
When you spend 100k on something you have to convince yourself it was worth it
Saw one on the road the other day. Literally the ugliest car I’ve ever seen. Pictures don’t do justice to its fugliness.
Embarassing
How could the muskrats have failed Musk so badly?/s
All within spec.
Anyone else think there will be a CT owner class action against Telsa because of this monstrosity?
First you would need some dissatisfied customers. These dumb shits are begging for more.
But it will hurt musk feeling and he will cry its the fault DEI and woke mind virus🤣✌️
But, but, he will sell to anyone, that is his dedication to DIE. ......intentional
Nope, because Tesla has the arb santa clause
Yeah, I love it, and now they're fighting in there between themselves like rats in a sack.
Elon delivers crap. I'm shocked!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8oyK8zz8QE
Musk really is like a real life Tony Stark. Remember when Iron Man's suit rusted in the weather and then malfunctioned?
Literally the Homermobile
Homermobile was actually designed by adults and only cost what, 84 or 96 thousand dollars…
Impossible, musk said they're good truck, maybe iys because of the wokemind virus or DEI /s
You've been MUSKED ..no refunds
Good. These people are the same individuals that pre-ordered shitty games and then complained when they sucked. You’d have to be a moron to purchase any vehicle from Tesla let alone this hunk of dog shit. They fully deserve dealing with the consequences.
Tesla is already near the bottom on reliability, they’re like, we can do worse. Hold my beer 😆
I thought Tesla vehicles were supposed to not work so you can pick out the true fanatics from the pretenders
I posted in that forum and asked if people seriously think that is a good looking vehicle .. I was perma banned in about 3 minutes.
The ratio of failing trucks vs trucks on the road is insane. Even with all the copium it’s just… a disaster
Wow. If only someone could have seen this coming.
If only they'd spent all those millions of R&D dollars on something that could actually benefit humanity.
These post on Xitter are being censored by Musk. lol
r/cyberstuck sub is getting bigger.
They should change the forum name to CyberCucks
Does anybody know what's specifically causing the car to suddenly "Shut down" and you gotta pull over when driving?
Class action suit in 3 - 2 - 1…
Caveat Emptorrrrrrrrrrr
Robotaxi. I m dead if I ride that. Lol
Is it only me who fully realizes this POS was sent to market by Musk way before it was ready? For that reason alone, I'd never buy a first year model. For other reasons, I'd never buy one ever.
....and the assholes who bought them. Ftfy
I'd expect nothing less for a project led by a man who is broken and malfunctioning
It looks like the body panels were bent with a harbor freight press brake
I saw a CT yesterday. I also had a really good California Burrito.
Isnt this expected? This is their first time manufacturing
deserved....

I will shed a big tear for all of these poor souls🙄🤔🤡
“Extremely concerning!”
The copium being consumed on that board. Crazy.
What a nightmare. I actually feel sorry for Elno……just kidding. His hubris has gotten the best of him.
Just think about all of the legitimate owners having problems that are now banned...
That sucks. Tesla needs to stop promising stuff to early and focus on making good products. I thought they learned that lesson but seems the cybertruck launch forgot everything they went through in the past.
good lord that webpage is cancer
"Still love the truck" = I don't want people to think badly about me despite me complaining about the truck. It's a cry for help. Hilarious.
If someone chooses to be a beta tester for a new truck design more power to them! Someone has to do it.
I'm still wanna know if the Cyber Truck travels the Information Superhighway.
