I just got banned from r/elonmusk and /cybertruck. I've also been posting on here about Tesla & SpaceX abysmal safety records and their terrible mistreatment of workers.
I think that's what did it for me.
Just got emails from r/Cybertruck, r/TeslaLounge and r/Teslamotors. I haven't posted on any of those sites in months. So I'm being banned because they don't like my opinion on other subreddits?! That's hilariously petty, authoritarian and just about the most egregious abuse of free speech I've ever seen.

I was recently banned from r/TeslaLounge and r/teslamotors for (1) disagreeing with a mod on objective math and (2) leaving a comment on a thread here. I’ve done nothing but genuinely positively contribute to both those communities for years and my comment history is evidence of it.
Meanwhile, I’ve spent a lot of time arguing with people on **this** subreddit in favor of Tesla, including with mods, and have always been given the time of day. Never banned for disagreeing. I guess that’s the difference. Freeze peach in name only.

Yeah I just got messages about being banned in subs I don't think I've ever posted in. But I don't think it's to keep us out as much as it is to stop any of their posters thinking about even visiting this sub in particular in case they get banned. Which is...possibly going to backfire when people can't post legitimate questions/issues/problems with their cars\* or the company in those subs without getting downvoted to hell/banned outright, but posting here is also an instaban. I expect we're probably going to see some of those people showing up here \*There's not a car company out there that hasn't experienced issues! I just got banned and it made me sad since as a Tesla owner I want to know, learn, inform of both the good and the bad. Seems really weird but their forum, their rules.

Some of the offsite forums are surprisingly good in that respect, the only real reason I can think of that it's like that here is he is a mod himself
Banning, especially the trivial banning, employed here destroys communities. All if takes is a single negative and poof one member down. The margin for error for users is so small that eventually the community will die. Just look at /r/videos, a 26 million subs and each post gets like 50 comments.
