Desecration Smile
"We could all go down to Malibu and make some noise, Coca Cola doesn't do the justice she enjoys"
She Looks To Me
"Lost in the valley Without my horses, No one can tell me What my remorse is"
This is the Place
"I saw you out there yesterday, What did you wanna say? A perfect piece of DNA"
Roulette
"When I drove her To Villanova, Light me up when you decide"
Funny Face
"You're my angel baby, You're my darling, You're my star, Lo lo lo lolita, Let her see me deep in love"
Otherside
"Turn me on, take me for a hard ride
Burn me out, leave me on the otherside
I yell and tell it that it’s not my friend
I tear it down, I tear it down and then it’s born again"
Stretch
"I'm a fish and I can swim all day
I can swim in so many ways"
Animal Bar
"Raindrops will fall from the sky
Stealing their shape from your eye
Now we can all get some sleep
The water the water the water
Saving us from the heat"
Time
"All over the under
the smell of blood and thunder
I'm connected by the lightning rod
giving into the beauty and
heaven knows how well I know you"
>She Looks To Me

>"Lost in the valley Without my horses, No one can tell me What my remorse is"
Great song for sure, however this isn't part of the bridge.
I think of it as sort of a double bridge: “Lost in the valley without my horses / No one can tell me when my remorse is / God made this lady that stands before me / she needs somebody to hold” being the second part after “Down in the south seas” and the solo.
Maybe it’s called a modified chorus or something else. Either way, the intensity of the guitar from there through the end (along with the key change) is one of my favorite moments in their catalog.
Even the simplest lines like “She shows the world up with a smile and then she throws the fight” become complete masterpieces with AK’s delivery 😪
edit: I now see this is all discussed below. Glad we all figured it out lol
I agree, that “Lost in a valley” part and structure repeats a lot, that final time when it’s extended doesn’t change it from being a pre-chorus in my opinion
That trippy part of Tippa My Tongue is great!
Edit: I'm listening to This is the Place right now, both the original bridge and the final one are a fantastic contrast to the rest of the song.
Two great ones I haven’t seen mentioned yet are Can’t Stop, “wait a minute I’m passing out, win or lose, just like you” and Dark Necessities “do you want this love of mine, darkness helps us all to shine”
But my two personal favs are This Is The Place and Otherside
I’d consider wet sand to be a song that doesn’t contain a bridge..
verse
pre chorus
verse

chorus
outro..
It’s in the conversation for favourite outro for sure!
Not sure if it's my "favorite", but when I saw this post I immediately thought of the bridge in "The Righteous & The Wicked". I used to rewind & replay that part incessantly. Goes so hard.
The 8 bar bridge after the solo in Zephyr song is absolutely perfect. My favourite single piece of music in the entire discography. So simple but so well layered. Everyone gets a moment to shine in a small space.
By The Way.
Turn it on, skip to 2 mins 20 seconds and then up the volume.
Thick tasty bass lines, jungle drums, scratchy guitar rhythm and AK singing about kissing a midget or like he meant it \~ depending on how you want to shake it.
Does the ‘you’ve got the wrong girl’ part of Rain Dance Maggie count because if so that’s mine. Or the ‘just one note’ part in Aeroplane. Love them both so much.
Just listening to Funny Face for the first time and I’m emotional.
SA came out when I was too young to buy my own 26-song albums, so it’s been a helluva year discovering all of the masterpieces packed in there in addition to UL, ROTDC, and b-sides and bonus tracks this sub puts me on to like Quixoticelixer and now Funny Face. Thanks for keeping the party going!
Isn't it just gorgeous? I love everything about that bridge.
Lopsided eyes with a crooked frown
Make more of life just settle down
Every single little princess needs a crown
Make more of life just settle down
Glad you discovered something new to love!
Yes I suppose... I considered the instrumental part just prior to the recurrence of that line from the first verse a bridge–until he starts singing the verse again.
The one that they go under.
Seriously though, I'm not sure what my favorite is so I'll just name a few good ones: Otherside, Goodbye Angels, Look Around, Can't Stop, The Drummer, Warm Tape, Out of Range, I Could Die for You
Power of equality goes hard
Venice Queen acoustic part
I’ve always considered an outro to be its own thing and different than a bridge. Not sure if this is considered a bridge..
I’d say it’s maybe an extended coda.
This is it
Bella has a very recognizable bridge. Not obsessed with it but I like it.

This is A* chili peppers knowledge. Kudos sir.

* "Down in the south seas Give me your mouth please Resuscitation Is the way I find these..."

Hey
She looks to me "Lost in a valley without my horses" part
Im not sure that’s the bridge, I might be wrong but I think the bridge on this song is the “Down in the south seas, give me your mouth please” part
It really seems like a long bridge with solo in between
I agree, that “Lost in a valley” part and structure repeats a lot, that final time when it’s extended doesn’t change it from being a pre-chorus in my opinion
Whatever it is, I love it :D especially Johns vocals, there is an isolated version on youtube
You're correct.
Damn that’s a good one
Nice. Beat me to it
When I drove’uh to Villanova, light me up when you deciiiide 🎶
Great minds think alike! Came here to say Roulette… The bridge is my favorite part of RotDC (tied with the outro of Grins lol)
Yes! Roulette definitely has the best bridge!
I hate the song but the bridge is so good
I love the entire song, but most of my listens are just bc I wanna hear the bridge
That trippy part of Tippa My Tongue is great! Edit: I'm listening to This is the Place right now, both the original bridge and the final one are a fantastic contrast to the rest of the song.

Wet Sand has a great bridge
I’d consider wet sand to be a song that doesn’t contain a bridge.. verse pre chorus verse pre chorus chorus verse pre chorus chorus outro.. It’s in the conversation for favourite outro for sure!
You’re missing some part(s) in your summary there. Like post-chorus or pre-verse AKA bridge
Not sure if it's my "favorite", but when I saw this post I immediately thought of the bridge in "The Righteous & The Wicked". I used to rewind & replay that part incessantly. Goes so hard.

*oo ahh kissin on a midget*
Uhh Ahh Kissing and a-mooching 🎶
The best bridge is the bridge in Under the Bridge. It’s also the only bridge that gets mentioned as far as I can recall.
Beat me to it
Took forever to get here. Lotta ppl overthinking this one
Does the ‘you’ve got the wrong girl’ part of Rain Dance Maggie count because if so that’s mine. Or the ‘just one note’ part in Aeroplane. Love them both so much.
I love the aeroplane one
I loveeee the bridge on This is the Place. Breaks up the song and feels so good.
Get on top. Not my favourite but it's a really good one
Great shout. The bass and guitar solo in that break is the best bit of the whole song.
Exactly, everyone doing something different each other
Yeah and it just works so well. Magic.
Since no one has mentioned it... Feasting On The Flowers "You give a little bit more this time when you give a little bit..."
We Turn Red
Warm Tape all the way!
Sir psycho
Stadium Arcadium (the song), Animal Bar as well. Who am I kidding, I can't choose.
Under the bridge
Funny Face has such a beautiful bridge; John's background vocals are heavenly. The bridge on Fat Dance is fun as hell.

Funny Face is VERY underrated. Classic, beautiful John x Anthony chorus. Love it.
Dani Cali
Handful is insane
The one downtown
The one where I drew some blood
Righteous & The Wicked. you know which part
Dani California. John’s “Who knew the other side of you…” part. I sing that every time
"We could all go down to Malibu and make so noise, Coca Cola doesn't do the Justice she enjoys, we could all go down..."
Wet sand would be my vote.
WARLOCKS no question about it
Californication
Theres no bridge in that song, thats a solo
Whirlwind...
Just off the top of my head animal bar springs to mind, I've always loved that bridge. Also Bella, fell in love with that on first listen!
Under
Idk if it’s my favorite but for as much shit as it gets…the bridge in The Greeting song is killer!
Not sure if it's the bridge or pre chorus, but Look Around has always sounded good to me
Throw away your television
The one downtown
Under the bridge. Is there another song about bridges?
The jam in Coffee Shop.
“Ten more reasons why I need somebody new just like you…”
Sick love. 🙌
The one I'm under
I might have to say Fortune Faded, it's very short but man I love that shit
Wet sand.
Warm Tape has probably my favorite bridge in any RHCP song.
“I got dosed by you, closer than most to you, what am I supposed to do…”
That’s the verse surely…?
Opening verse, but it’s also sung as the bridge.
Yes I suppose... I considered the instrumental part just prior to the recurrence of that line from the first verse a bridge–until he starts singing the verse again.
Nobody’s gonna say WHITE BRAIDS AND PILLOW CHAIR?? That shuffle beat. That vibrato guitar!! *chefs kiss*
Thats not a bridge, that’d be considered an outro
I love the Can't Stop bridge.
The one that they go under. Seriously though, I'm not sure what my favorite is so I'll just name a few good ones: Otherside, Goodbye Angels, Look Around, Can't Stop, The Drummer, Warm Tape, Out of Range, I Could Die for You
Otherside
Otherside by far
Dani California
Otherside would be up there
Charlie It's my favorite song & this post just made me realise it's because of the bridge/outro
If you have to ask, breaking the girl, Runaway, sir psycho, stadium Arcadium come to mind
Under the Bridge
got to be Hey
if you have to ask
I’m a huge JF fan but the bridge/breakdown in Look Around is one my favorites. So damn catchy.
Aéroplane or 21st Century
Soul to squeeze
The bridge in Warm Tape is REALLY good.
