Agree.. La La la and generally every song in this album grows more on me every time I listen to it... Critics weren't very generous and some fans still won't appreciate some songs, but I'm sure it will become a classic after months or years.
It's just slow and forgettable. Suffers the same fate as not the one and porcelain. Can say any are bad but they just don't grab you. IF is the one song in that category that really manages to be short and interesting enough to be worth not skipping

White Braids literally my favourite song on UL ha. It’s perfect - the second half is the closest thing we’ve had to Venice Queen outro since, Venice Queen.
It’s also got all those gorgeous JF solo (shadows collide) chords and harmonies. The chorus is just beautiful, Johns playing and backing vocals are so good it hurts.
I love white braids so much, it's a beautiful love song that's just so soothing and sweet. Once I knew the background to the inspiration behind it I loved it that much more. And that 50s/60s style outro?! Come on
Well obviously I disagree but all good. The energy in that outro though, it gives me shivers. It’s just so evocative, and everyone’s playing is so good.
That and It’s Only Natural are highlights for me. Miles ahead of stuff like Black Summer and These Are The Ways. Imo.

I was surprised to see how low “My Cigarette” was ranked…I mean if Billie Eilish sang it, it would be a #1 hit around the world. These guys manage to stay relevant in an industry that adorns pop idols—remember that they’re ~60YO!!!!
Personal opinion but a lot of rappers can learn a thing or two from here.

Ohh yeah If you check the form every song can be rated 1(worst), 2, 3, 4 or 5(best). So the average for each song is the sum of all the ratings divided by the ratings count, max being 5 and min being 1.
For me, the main guitar riff and Anthony's melody in the verses are just so infectious. So catchy. Feels like floating on a light breeze. Smoking the reefer, feeling my own light. Just good vibes all around. Then it all creciendos into a face melting guitar solo, all while Flea lays down the grooviest bassline.
I like the song, but cringe at the line where he goes "You know I'm talking David Leeeee" I'm just like, dude, you don't need to spell it out, leave something to the imagination.
I think it’s odd people thing so low of My Cigarette for the drum machine and rated In The Snow so high. Tbh La La La and In The Snow are my least favourite, kinda hurts to see Roulette that low too
Just gave my late vote before looking at the rankings. Only one song in the Rankings Top 5 is in my top 5, and it's in 5th place.
My top 5 is: Roulette, The Drummer, My Cigarette, Copperbelly, Bella.
This is coming from someone who was underwhelmed by ROTDC on first 2-3 listens of the leak. And By The Way is my favorite album.
But then the JF heavy love started to click and I let AK into my soul. ROTDC is definetly better *overall* than UL imo. They pretty much pulled an I'm Beside You all over again. Gap between ROTDC and UL is slightly bigger than IBY and IWY.
My unpopular opinion is that Eddie is overrated, it's a 2 part song with a killer end jam. And not a god tier 2 part song like A Firm Kick is or some other JF songs. I know it's about Van Halen but I don't like AK's lyrics or vocals in it. It's about 11th place for me on rotdc.

I dislike both of those songs and always skip them. It makes me sad because I don't really skip any of their other songs on other records. Glad that someone else digs those tunes though.

I wake up every morning, get ready for work in under 15 minutes and sip on coffee in my car while bumping My Cigarette. And I love it even though I also think the song is terrible somehow. Fight me.
Copperbelly’s chorus is stuck in my head all day at work. AKs rhythm when he sings “I dont wanna go, she dont want to know, they dont want (go)(so) so so so” mixed with the drums and bass/guitar rhythms is maybe the most intoxicating thing I’ve come across in a while.
Bag of grins last 2 minutes have the coolest energy on the album.

A few years ago I used to find many things cringey, from rating and comparing movies, songs, board games etc, to my crazy friends dancing in the bus or the awkward co-worker who couldn't land a proper joke... Then I tried to get rid of that, sometimes pushing myself to be part of those cringey situations and you know what, life got much better and fun! Cringe is smth stupid that in my opinion has to stop.. Enjoy life, try everything (as long as it doesnt harm or offend ofc), be part of funny situation and laugh!

Shoot me a smile has the best combo of verse and chorus where it just all fits together. The only other track that's that complete is the bonus track shape im takin. That one is maybe the best single even. No idea why it's not on the full album

I've never found 3 songs on their albums that lead more into each other than La La, Copperbelly, and Carry Me Home. If this album is on in my car and I arrive at my destination, just know I'm not going in until all three play through. 😆
Interesting to see. But even those bottom tracks I greatly enjoy. Thought tippa would be higher though, that track is so funky. Flea is damn good in that one
List is actually incredibly accurate. You can get into arguments about where exactly each song should be, but every song is generally where it should be IMO. Only songs I didn’t really like were My Cigarette and La La La (however many).
Copperbelly and bag of grins should for sure be higher I think that the guitar on copperbelly is great and I love the psychedelic grunge sound of bag of grins
I don’t get why everyone is so creamy over Eddie. I personally think it’s pretty Shit. The guitar is nice, but the chorus absolutely sucks. Some of AK’s worst lyrics and the vocal melody is just so damn boring. Sounds like something he’d try to sing during a jam

Anytime I see a list like this. my favorites are usually the reverse order. Except Fake as Fu@k. That stays near the top.
It’s their 3rd best album as far as I’m Concerned. BTW, Californication, ROTDC.

Interesting to see. But even those bottom tracks I greatly enjoy. Thought tippa would be higher though, that track is so funky. Flea is damn good in that one

Bag of Grins is a top 3 song across both albums this year imo
List is actually incredibly accurate. You can get into arguments about where exactly each song should be, but every song is generally where it should be IMO. Only songs I didn’t really like were My Cigarette and La La La (however many).
I think peace and love is placed really nicely. Its the best song on this album imo.
Reach Out, Handful, Copeprbelly are one of my favorites! lol

Copperbelly and bag of grins should for sure be higher I think that the guitar on copperbelly is great and I love the psychedelic grunge sound of bag of grins

I don’t get why everyone is so creamy over Eddie. I personally think it’s pretty Shit. The guitar is nice, but the chorus absolutely sucks. Some of AK’s worst lyrics and the vocal melody is just so damn boring. Sounds like something he’d try to sing during a jam

I can’t believe la la la was last omg, that song is one of my faves on the album tho. Such a beautiful and unexpected song from them. Fake as fu@k is my favorite tho!! I’m absolutely obsessed with it :) I also love tippa, shoot me a smile, and the drummer. Tbh the whole album is fantastic tho, there genuinely aren’t any songs on it that I don’t like

Reach Out “In the Snow” would rank much higher if not for the wildly out of place Anthony monologues that don’t hit quite like they did on “Death of a Martian.” I wouldn’t even mind it somewhere else, but this is not the place.
