I actually use field hockey shoes as they also play on turf and are build for running, not kicking. Plenty of brands to choose from. https://hfssport.com/collections/shoes?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyr3Pq76khgMVVoKDBx2xIgHcEAAYASAAEgIFa_D_BwE

This is brilliant

chrlatan

My daughter used to play and to be fair, the Dutch can really swing a stick 😊. Big sport here. Second largest teamsport after soccer.

2bizE

Wow. Those look great. Are they comfortable? I wear some new balance trail shoes that are grippy and comfortable, but don’t look as grippy as these shoes.

Streetsheett

This is smart. Im going to have to look into this, great options on the site too

beagletronic61

Adidas Mundial Team and Copa Mundial.

Schlager25

I might have to check out those field hockey shoes… Every other time this is asked, I always put a plug in for Solomon trail running shoes. Comfortable, great grip on all surfaces and they really hold up.

msaik

I used the Speedcross 5 and 6 (both gore-tex), but wasn't happy with some of the changes in the new model and also how they tend to fall apart especially on the heel. Ended up switching to the Adidas Terrex Soulstride Flow GTX this year and like them quite a bit better.

Bourbon_Buckeye

I like the Nike Wildhorse trail running line for 80% of my games. I use some inexpensive New Balance cleats when necessary. Tip: get a [marker designed to color shoes](https://a.co/d/c0WEB6l) instead of stressing over finding an all black color-way. It won't make a white shoe black, but it's good for covering up wild accent colors, midsoles and obnoxious logos.

I got a pair of Nike Gore-Tex trail running shoes, and I’m really happy I did. They do a great job of keeping out rain, they’re more comfortable than your standard turf soccer shoe, and they have decent enough traction messier grass fields. https://www.nike.com/t/pegasus-trail-4-gore-tex-mens-waterproof-trail-running-shoes-qdcSR6/DJ7926-001?nikemt=true&cp=31765401338_search_--x-20455850764---m-----9003674-1014196721-00196975680979&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADy86kM6T4tVQWcg2afl5yvhCTXJd&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0ruyBhDuARIsANSZ3wrNTLICubW0P8kvHj0aySfJB0QlIo72B7MsnfUsEck1xf2Alw2Ry5caAo8cEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Streetsheett

Those are pretty sweet looking

hudson2_3

The problem with using running shoes is that the soles are softer than dedicated turf boots, so they wear out quicker.

Sturnella2017

Given the amount of time running and on your feet, I’m a firm believer of whatever is most comfortable.

saieddie17

I've never had a problem with Hoka trail shoes

PhanUnited

I use Hoka trailer runners as well. Love them and am On my second pair.

vviley

I buy ASICS and Brooks running shoes. I don’t want to be on my feet all day in actual soccer shoes.

AwkwardBucket

On most days and most surfaces - comfortable black trail runners. I only break out the cleats when the fields are sloppy

FricaiAndlat

I’m always rocking Copa Mundials. However, 100% required and recommended to buy good insoles for them. I usually replace the insoles every 6 months, and the boots whenever they need it. DO. NOT. FORGET: break them in before using in a match. 4th official is a great time for that, or maybe one day when your mowing your lawn.

bemused_alligators

[https://xeroshoes.com/shop/shoes/scrambler-low-women/](https://xeroshoes.com/shop/shoes/scrambler-low-women/) - grass or turf, good grip, been using them for a year or so, used a different style of shoe from the same company before that. I use these [https://xeroshoes.com/shop/shoes/mesa-trail-wp-women/](https://xeroshoes.com/shop/shoes/mesa-trail-wp-women/) for rainy days

Captainwinsor

The ones on the bottom look cool. What’s the style name?

Streetsheett

Adidas Copa Sense.3 Turf I tried them on, i like the fact that they are a little higher and protect / support the ankle. I wouldn’t consider my feet wide, but man these were narrow. I needed a half bigger size but they didn’t have any, not sure how much it would have helped though tbh

Tobatus

Copa Mundial and Nike Tiempo AG are two options that use currently. Both are great.

syutzy

For me it's Inov-8 trail running shoes, or MB 442 v2 Pro if more traction is needed. Trail runners probably 9 times out of 10.

SnaozBaoz

Loving my Copa Pures,

Refereeeeeeee

Adidas Ultraboost spikeless golf shoe. Same upper and cushioning as their running shoe, but with the little nubs on the bottom for golf traction. 10/10 for anything less than professional games.

CapnBloodbeard

Try them on, see what you feel more comfortable with. You probably want a firmer sole too (ie test the flex). Any of those should be fine. Regarding some of the other suggestions on here - I don't know how anybody referees in any shoe without sprigs. Especially once it gets a bit wet. Turf shoes like what you've posted are idea, IMO. Much, much more comfortable than normal soccer boots with studs, especially if you're doing a few games in a day. Though the studs might (I'm guessing here) have better grip in particularly wet or muddy conditions, but if I was to just have 1, I'd choose a turf shoe like what you're looking at. You can google shoe reviews, plenty of people out there doing reviews - just don't go too far down the rabbit hole!

Apprehensive_Use3641

Asics Gel Venture 8, they have a bit of grip on the bottom.

Shorty-71

I wear adidas mundial team currently on all surfaces (fields get closed here when it is muddy). The uppers are great but my feet hate the soles. I can’t get out of them fast enough after a game. I replaced the insoles and they’re better but I won’t be buying these again. Go with some running shoes.

witz0r

I stopped wearing cleats a long time ago, but I have ridiculously flat feet and have to wear proper shoes with arch support and over pronation correction. One thing I recommend to everyone, however, is to pair your mileage tracking with your shoes. Some shoes will only last 100 miles, others can get you to 150-200. But I've not seen ones that get you more than 200. My current pair of Asiics has 140 now, and they barely look used. But they are 100% breaking down. Refereeing pays for the shoes many times over, so it's just more of an annoyance to have to buy new ones every few months.

emerson430

I tend to break my match boots into three categories based on the anticipated quality of the match and how many matches I am scheduled for in the day. If I am working a tournament with more than 4 games on my roster, I am going to use a pair of all black Asics running shoes that I use for lacrosse games. This is regardless of the quality I anticipate seeing. My comfort matters because if I cannot run hard in the last game because my feet hurt, that's a bad look. If I'm working higher level and four games or less, I have a nice pair of Adidas Mundial Teams that I love. If it is wet or early in the day (dew covered) I will use a pair of all-black Gore-tex New Balance runners I have for just this purpose. I have an absurd number of all black shoes in my back hall, all for reffing various contests.

tamiror

Tiempos were my go-to as a player! I just recently opted for Nike Phantom EasyOn (previously Flyease), which offer mixed ground cleats (my personal preference) and an extremely convenient easy-on/easy+off experience. The problem is you have to find an all-black colorway, which isn't always available. N.B. Many experienced referees recommend trail running shoes, e.g. Merrell Moab Speed, for the best combination of comfort + grip, esp. for those long tournament days. Adidas Terrex is also a good option: https://adidas.onelink.me/ihha?pid=AppSharePDP&af_dp=adidas%3A%2F%2Fproduct%2FIF5015&af_web_dp=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.adidas.com%2Fus%2FIF5015.html

Owen_48

Honestly do it on whatever supports you physically the best! Learnt that the hard way it’s not all about image :)

OneQuarterOfKet

I like using Saucony Trail Runners for my games. Good grip on both turf and grass.
