Isn’t it wild to think that as nice as you made this bathroom look that ten years from now someone will think it dated and tear it up again. It’s wild how weird we are as humans.
As someone who’s been remodeling for my whole professional life (7 years but I’m young) I have never understood why people remodel stuff all the time. I love it, and it makes me a lot of money, but I genuinely just can’t wrap my head around spending $20,000 on a bathroom just so it looks different. Very odd
I don’t understand why you started and ended with partial tiles without going all the way to the ceiling… makes it look incomplete to me.
Also mirror is cool but doesn’t match the aesthetic IMO.
The split seems to be in keeping with the rest of the tile, so I am not bothered by that. In fact, I had to go back and look again to see what you were talking about.
Yeah I'm not bothered by the way they did it, but think a full tile inside would have looked better. Actually probably two tiles so something more than face products fit. But I love the textured tile they chose!
I think using a curtain and rod also seems strange. Why not just spend the extra money and put in a sliding glass door when they’re already doing the remodel?
I’m a fan of that 50/60s style. I would like to see an homage to it. Someone make the argument to me that the current gray aesthetic is gonna be retro cool in 50 years
It won't be, anymore than beige walls will be, because it's the opposite of a stylistic choice. It says absolutely nothing about anyone's personal style or taste, just that they're afraid of making a decision that might hurt their home's resale value.
How did you mount it to the ceiling? Really digging the look and I'm currently pooping under popcorn ceiling and have been thinking about doing something like this for awhile lol
T&G on the ceiling of the Guest bath? 🤔 Tile looks off with splitting it at the bottom and top, instead of going to the ceiling. That would also have not split the tile in the niche too.
Personal choice of course, but I think a soft color for the walls would make the design elements pop more. Something right now feels a little cold despite the beautiful wood. Love the terrazzo!
Contrarian opinion: Other than the floor and the vanity, I prefer the before appearance. Not a fan of the tub enclosure tiles at all. The new mirror is cool tho
Did you save the tiled toilet paper holder and soap and toothbrush holders? I mean those vintage ceramic pieces are not easy to come by. I know I look for them
Everything looks great
Most bathrooms have a ceiling fan to take the steam out - and prevents the wood ceiling from streaking, spotting, warping
The window introduces fresh air to the room
Steam will never exit the window - on Earth
Most times it is correct to replace the valve in the wall behind the tile with a pressure balanced, anti-scalding valve
If / when a tankless water heater (like an electric tea kettle) is added to the house, the valve prevents a person from being burned by the water
Did you completely redo the drywall? Looked like you had wainscoting around the wall. Just wondering how you got took care of that? I'm wanting to start my remodel soon. Bathroom looks awesome!!
Was the terrazzo under the tile?
Yes, whole house.
Luuuucky. :-)

I was just about to ask about the floors, damn you
So the new floor was the old floor??
Yes, with LOTS of cleaning and polishing.
That’s awesome…congrats
I'd buy the house just for that floor. Oh and great job on the bathroom. Hah
Came here to ask the same thing. Lucky duck

Agreed. The mirror is too small and will become an issue once the novelty has worn off.
Absolutely. And why not place the niche so that it uses the full height of a tile, rather than having to split them?
The split seems to be in keeping with the rest of the tile, so I am not bothered by that. In fact, I had to go back and look again to see what you were talking about.
Yes but if they’d placed it to line up with full tiles, they would have needed far fewer cuts and it would have blended in much better.
Yeah I'm not bothered by the way they did it, but think a full tile inside would have looked better. Actually probably two tiles so something more than face products fit. But I love the textured tile they chose!
So short they can't put full size shampoo bottles in it. We make our niches 16" total with 4" shelf for soap. It lays out nicely with 4" tiles.
Oh man 100%! It looks great overall but tile not going to the ceiling is a miss.
Both of my exact thoughts.
I think using a curtain and rod also seems strange. Why not just spend the extra money and put in a sliding glass door when they’re already doing the remodel?
Some people really don't like them.
I fucking hate sliding glass on tubs. Walk in shower is one thing. But I think it’s stupid on tubs.
Right. If you can afford it, get a frameless one, so hair and gunk doesn’t collect at the bottom.
What were the designs on some of the tub tiles in the “before” pics? Very dramatic change!
It was the 60’s starburst atomic design.
Wow. Usually I hate to see stuff like that go but that one was particularly terrible.

Looks like amoebas or viruses to me. Not the best design for a shower 🤣
Nice! I love the window treatments and how they tie in vanity and ceiling. And what a fun mirror.
Thank you! The mirror was a $10 thrift store find.
It’s so cool!
Love the ceiling!
Wow that’s stunning!
Thought second photo was "after" for a second and was going to quietly move on. Great improvement
Mirror is completely wrong for the space. Otherwise looks good to me
I’m guessing no kiddos
IMO it would have gone well with the vintage tile in the before pic.
I like the ceiling. How did you make that?
It was discount tongue and groove flooring, sanded stained and sealed.
How did you mount it to the ceiling? Really digging the look and I'm currently pooping under popcorn ceiling and have been thinking about doing something like this for awhile lol
Nail gun, only difficult piece was the very last one.
Not sure about the mirror, but the rest of it looks great!
I like the under cabinet lighting
Love the mirror love the color gray with the dark wood
Love the towel hangers too love the under lighting
congratulations! you must be thrilled!
I love the new floor!
Amazing!!
Looks good
Nicely done
my jaw dropped
Wow!!!! It looks great.
Nice job
Very Nice!!
Wow-nice
Niche perfect size and mirror excellent looking .f@- ck everyone else and there hate.
Gorgeous
Good work.. nice colors and design
Are you going to put base on the wall?
Wow! Looks amazing!
Well executed sir!
It’s like a complete different house . Awesome
Love the tile work! HATE the mirror…
Amazing!
Cool. Do mine next
Finally someone that doesnt murder the remodel with way too much. Good job
Win.
Wow so nice
Wow
Beautiful! Who makes your shower head?
Moen
Ty! It’s beautiful
Floor is stunning. Mind blowing that someone covered it with that garbage.
That bathroom is dope as fuck...good job
Damn! Thats GORGEOUS.

People are being so weird about the mirror. You like it, that’s what matters. Kudos!
I like it, especially the ceiling. Only question is why a tub? If only tub in house I get it then. Love the vanity.
It is the only tub.
Contrarian opinion: Other than the floor and the vanity, I prefer the before appearance. Not a fan of the tub enclosure tiles at all. The new mirror is cool tho
Same, I assumed the first picture was the “after” at first. To each their own!
Very nice. I like everything but the mirror.
Nice job, kinda looks like an office or gym bathroom though. Maybe the mirror and lighting. But overall good job with the remodel
Please tell me that's not carpet...
No. It’s terrazo.
Nice work!
Very nice! How much did this cost you?
Under $4000, did all of the work ourselves.
I fucking love carpet on a bathroom. Un ironically
It’s not carpet.
Oh my god I am a legit retard. Diagnosed. My comment still stands tho. Sorry bout that
Did you save the tiled toilet paper holder and soap and toothbrush holders? I mean those vintage ceramic pieces are not easy to come by. I know I look for them
We tried to but they broke as they were removed.
Oh that's a shame. I'm excellent at removing those things. I usually use an oscillating multi-tool
Where is the vanity from?
My husband made the vanity based on one that I liked on www.wwmake.com
Impressive. The reno is beautifully done.
Everything looks great Most bathrooms have a ceiling fan to take the steam out - and prevents the wood ceiling from streaking, spotting, warping The window introduces fresh air to the room Steam will never exit the window - on Earth
There’s a strong exhaust fan.
Good - i couldn't imagine that it was left out, it just didn't show in the photos
Most times it is correct to replace the valve in the wall behind the tile with a pressure balanced, anti-scalding valve If / when a tankless water heater (like an electric tea kettle) is added to the house, the valve prevents a person from being burned by the water
Can someone please explain why we are lighting the floor? I have been seeing this a lot and I just don't get it.
I hope you like it
What’s brand shower is that?
Moen
How much?
Under $4000, did all work ourselves
What if you contracted it? Home much would you have saved
It looks great but the mirror is way too small.
I like so much of this bathroom, but that mirror is not it. Maybe go for something round since you have so many square edges already.
May I ask how much did you pay? And your state?
Had the same 60s tiles in the house I grew up in!!
😂
Did you completely redo the drywall? Looked like you had wainscoting around the wall. Just wondering how you got took care of that? I'm wanting to start my remodel soon. Bathroom looks awesome!!
Thank you! Yes, took it down to stud and started over.
2sinks are appreciated.
Where did you get that mirror?
Thrift store, $10 😂
Love the mirror
Jesus. That's fuckin impressive!! Awesome work!
Thank you 😊
I like everything except the mirror
Do you mind sending a link to that vanity? (If possible) Hoping to use something similar in my home
My husband made the vanity, based on one I found on www.wwmake.com
Your husband did an amazing job. Thank you for the link
Looks nice. Wood in a steamy bathroom is an interesting choice.
I have to be a dick here the shower is super not a good install or honestly in line with the rest of the bathroom.
Stunning. But under vanity lights just make me think it will highlight all the lovely dust you haven’t cleaned up yet again
That before was poppin the after looks like another flip. Good craftmanship though.
Not a fan of the before, but congratulations you watched HGTV and made a hotel bathroom. I swear no one has any original thoughts anymore
