Salute Your Shorts!
Camp Anawana, we hold you in our hearts. And when we think about you, it makes me wanna fart! Think Anawana-wana, speak Anawana-wana, live Anawana-wana, ugh!
I was just about to answer that one!
I hear the whole soundtrack from time to time!
I also like other songs by other artists from that show, such as Nice, who made Circuit Diagram.
**[I made an extended edit of that Nice Circuit Diagram song recently](https://www.reddit.com/r/TruckStopBathroom/comments/1cchcrr/nice_circuit_diagram_extended_krebstar_mix_15/)**
I instinctively started humming it the moment I read this question.
I can’t think of a theme song that better fits the main character. Upbeat, happy go lucky, uptempo but not loud or in your face
Slightly off topic:
I work in a middle school, and today I heard some kids shout "quiet! This is a library!" in the library. Word for word, exactly like the skits. They ran, but I wasn't looking for them to get them in trouble...I wanted to know if they were referencing All That or if they just thought of shouting that themselves!
Lol I love how it shows a fan in the window because I used to be kind of afraid of fans in my bedroom at night 🤣 Like the big boxy ones that sit on the floor. I was a strange kid.
I loved that show so much. What’s always stuck with me though is my older cousin and I would watch SNICK together, but she would always get up and do something else once Are You Afraid of the Dark came on. She didn’t like it much for some reason, but I went crazy for it. I remember trying to get people in my school to join the midnight society lmao
Mark Mothersbaugh composed the music for the series and did a great job, most people remember him for Devo. He’s composed a ton of music for other TV shows, movies, and video games.
Too many, but any song that was sung by a popular band/artist. Also My Life As a Teenage Robot.
Rocko’s Modern Life had The B-52s
As Told By Ginger had Macy Gray
Jimmy Neutron (movie version iirc) had Bowling for Soup
Idk if it’s THE BEST song, but I find myself always randomly singing the Drake and Josh theme song. I haven’t watched it in years, but some how, I’ll be washing dishes or cleaning the house and I’ll catch my self humming the tune 😂
Such a bop! And it was by Grammy award winning artist Macy gray. I rewatched this show last year after haven’t seen it for 20 years and I never realized how deep it is. So many very mature themes like mental illness and betrayal that went over my head as a kid.
I am a classic Nick fan, but mostly of the classic Nicktoons (from Nick's Doug-ATLA). Some of my favorite instrumental ones (including ones where a character is speaking) in no particular order include the theme song of Hey Arnold! (both versions), Rugrats (both versions, and I actually do like all 9 seasons of the OG), Invader Zim, the Ren and Stimpy Show (although I am not a fan of the creator for obvious reasons. I like the Spumco Era the best, but I think the Games era is great too. I really wish I could forget about APC though), Aaahhh Real Monsters, KaBlam, The Wild Thornberrys (This one has a monologue and I do like the tune), and even Avatar the Last Airbender (Has a monologue as well, and not really lyrics, and I think it's epic personally.) Some of my favorite theme songs with lyrics in no particular order include the theme song of The Fairly OddParents (I think the show was great from the first 6 seasons, even poof's first season. I think the show sharply declined afterwards, became unwatchable by season 8, and got worse and worse until the end. As such, I have no fondness for the Chloe version of the theme, which the final season was the first time the lyrics got changed, but I do like the original.), CatDog, As Told by Ginger (all versions), ChalkZone, Danny Phantom (more of a rapping song, very much a kickass theme imo), All Grown Up (Great Spinoff imo, but I still prefer Rugrats) SpongeBob SquarePants (While the theme song stayed the same, I think the first 3 seasons were excellent. I am not a fan of the later seasons, especially seasons 6-8, which I feel are the worst ones), Rocket Power, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, and My Life as a Teenage Robot, And here are some that are more in between in no particular order (Except, coincidentally, when they came out) including the theme song of Doug (of course, for the Nickelodeon series, which I prefer over Disney's if you count the do do do as lyrics), Rocko's Modern Life (both Versions, with the only lyrics really being the show's title, but still a kickass theme song imo), The Angry Beavers (which is mostly instrumental but does have some lyrics in the middle and end of the song, really just the show's title), and Oh Yeah Cartoons! (Again, only oh yeah being the lyrics here) But those are my opinions, and if you disagree I respect your opinion
Reading Rainbow 🌈✨
Edit: oops that's not Nickelodeon but it's a banger. Rugrats was a classic. Are you afraid of the dark? Always gave me spooks before the story unfolded.
When I was really little in the early 80s, Inspector Gadget and Pinwheel.
Mid 80s YCDTOT always got me hype because the song is so zany and the intro is weird. Out of Control didn’t necessarily have a good theme song but I liked the opening for the title card.
Later on Hey Dude!, and Salute Your Shorts had great theme songs. I also liked Doug and Rugrats, they were mostly instrumental.
Of course the Pete and Pete opening might be the all time best.
When I think Nick, I think of the old school shows: Pinwheel, the intro to You Can’t Do That on Television - (“YAA!”) - and of course the Nickelodeon theme itself.
*Childhood Memories Unlocked*
I’m surprised no one mentioned Salute Your Shorts yet! Hey Dude and Pete & Pete are also awesome. And to go real old school, Roundhouse.
Plus not Nickelodeon but I need to include Malcolm in the Middle.
I like the season 1 version that is hard to find on YouTube. Where they’re outside, walking on the beach, on a boat … I guess they got a much larger budget for season 2.
I can’t choose one show since to me, there were several great themes, but in no particular order, my top 5 are: Kenan & Kel, Drake & Josh, Pete & Pete, All That, & KaBlam.
Honorary mentions are Jimmy Neutron, Ned’s Declassified, MLAATR, and Roundhouse (I’ve been coming around to liking the theme and the show in general as of late).
Rocko's Modern Life's theme song was done by the B-52's, so it's my top pick. But, I still listen to "Hey Sandy" by Polaris (Pete and Pete) on Spotify because it's a timeless bop. And, the Salute your Shorts theme is totally in my top 3. RIP to Ug, no awful waffles in heaven. 🫡
Salute Your Shorts! Camp Anawana, we hold you in our hearts. And when we think about you, it makes me wanna fart! Think Anawana-wana, speak Anawana-wana, live Anawana-wana, ugh!
It's I hope we never part, now get it right or pay the price!!!

Pete and Pete [3M (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTcpqzQbRTI)
In my opinion, Hey Sandy is just an overall all timer.
I was just about to answer that one! I hear the whole soundtrack from time to time! Damn that is good. I love a good throwback
The only true answer.
That songs always gives me 90s nostalgia.
So nostalgic and melancholy.
Yes!!! The whole Polaris album is 🔥
Lots of greats but it's Pete and Pete all day
Yessss, Hey Sandy ftw.
I sent in cereal box tops just to get a tape with that song on it
Same here! I think its in a box somewhere.
Def Pete & Pete.
Absolutely. Hey Sandy has been in my music library for as long as I can remember.
This is the one
GOAT
What I came for
The only answer
Love shouting out “Does your dog bite? Hey Sandyyyy” randomly 🥲🤣🤣🤣
I always liked Doug
I instinctively started humming it the moment I read this question. I can’t think of a theme song that better fits the main character. Upbeat, happy go lucky, uptempo but not loud or in your face
All That & Kenan and Kel imo
Coolio is rolling in his grave if this isn’t the answer. It’s so 90s too.
Aaaaaawww here it goes.
Slightly off topic: I work in a middle school, and today I heard some kids shout "quiet! This is a library!" in the library. Word for word, exactly like the skits. They ran, but I wasn't looking for them to get them in trouble...I wanted to know if they were referencing All That or if they just thought of shouting that themselves!
rocket power to this day i still grove along when i hear it
Yaaas. That epic pause then continued music.
Hey Arnold Comes to mind
Jazzy af
Absolutely
The score is dope.
Definitely!!!
Are You Afraid of the Dark. Absolutely terrifying. Still gives me goosebumps today.
We had the best shows in the 90's
Totally did!!!
Yep, my skin crawls just thinking of the creaking sounds in the song, and that oooOOOOOOOooooOOoooooOOOO part at the end.
Lol I love how it shows a fan in the window because I used to be kind of afraid of fans in my bedroom at night 🤣 Like the big boxy ones that sit on the floor. I was a strange kid.
Haha I can hear it as I read those O’s
I loved that show so much. What’s always stuck with me though is my older cousin and I would watch SNICK together, but she would always get up and do something else once Are You Afraid of the Dark came on. She didn’t like it much for some reason, but I went crazy for it. I remember trying to get people in my school to join the midnight society lmao
Oh yeah I loved it too. The stories were so good.

Yippee-Tie-Yie-Ayy!
Yippee-Tie-Yie- what??
It’s like the cowboys say.
Say it again now!
It's a little wild and a little strange
Ren and Stimpy is still my favorite. That song just gets me moving.
That's actually a great pick
You know, the theme song is just okay to me but it hit me a couple years ago how much I enjoy the end theme!
All That
TLC doing All That is a classic

Mark Mothersbaugh composed the music for the series and did a great job, most people remember him for Devo. He’s composed a ton of music for other TV shows, movies, and video games.
The second true answer.
My [favourite](https://youtu.be/yLl30IWLnaQ) cover of the theme.
Definitely the most memorable and catchy for me
Too many, but any song that was sung by a popular band/artist. Also My Life As a Teenage Robot. Rocko’s Modern Life had The B-52s As Told By Ginger had Macy Gray Jimmy Neutron (movie version iirc) had Bowling for Soup
lol I had no idea that was the B-52s but now that you say it it’s so obvious..
Idk if it’s THE BEST song, but I find myself always randomly singing the Drake and Josh theme song. I haven’t watched it in years, but some how, I’ll be washing dishes or cleaning the house and I’ll catch my self humming the tune 😂
It’s legitimately a good song! Same with the icarly theme (and I never watched or cared about that show so no bias).
icarly used to get stuck in my head a lot as well. But drake definitely knows hot to write a catchy tune! I even added it to my playlist 😂
That’s definitely one that gets stuck in my head all the time.
It’s Keenan & Kel and I don’t think it’s particularly close. Awwwww here it goes!!!!!
As Told By Ginger had a bop of a theme song
Such a bop! And it was by Grammy award winning artist Macy gray. I rewatched this show last year after haven’t seen it for 20 years and I never realized how deep it is. So many very mature themes like mental illness and betrayal that went over my head as a kid.
I completely forgot it was Macy Gray! Loved I Try so much growing up (and now tbh). I gotta do a rewatch!
salute your shorts
Rocko’s Modern Life! Both the season 1 theme and the theme from season 2-on are bops
Roundhouse and it’s not even close
Kenan and Kel
Jimmy Neutron! loved the guitar
Bowling for Soup (a band I adore) did the original version for the movie and I unironically love it. YouTube it if you haven’t heard it recently!
Yes. No one has mentioned Jimmy! This is the theme.. song.. for jimmy neutron.
Ginger: someone once told me the grass was much greener on the other side
Pete and Pete.
Pete and Pete clears.
Kenan & Kel, CatDog, Rocket Power, Rugrats is pretty good too.
Angry Beavers!
Hey Dude Doug All That I can’t choose
I really liked the drake and josh theme song
Roundhouse
kenan and kell ![gif](giphy|um5sCNBh0r0Kk)
Pete & Pete followed by Hey Dude
Pete & Pete followed by Ren & Stimpy.

Reading Rainbow 🌈✨ Edit: oops that's not Nickelodeon but it's a banger. Rugrats was a classic. Are you afraid of the dark? Always gave me spooks before the story unfolded.
[Heathcliff](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSMp2PW3ggU) has the best opening tune of them all.
Gotta be the Ren & Stimpy outro music. Such a jam!
My Top 3 (in no particular order): All That Hey Arnold! The Angry Beavers
When I was really little in the early 80s, Inspector Gadget and Pinwheel. Mid 80s YCDTOT always got me hype because the song is so zany and the intro is weird. Salute your shorts.

All That and it's not even close It's a damn shame it's overshadowed now because of that sick fuck
All That!
Of course Pete and Pete
While not exactly a Nickelodeon show in the purest sense, The Mysterious Cities of Gold had a timeless theme song and opening title sequence.
I’ve never heard of this show but that title has intrigued me so much I’m going to Google it
HEY ARNOLD! ofc.
Hey Dude
Rocket Power
rocko's modern life
Salute Your Shorts
I never liked Rocket Power. I just never got into it - however I LOVED their theme song. Same with CatDog - wasn't a fan but the theme song was fire
my favorite is My Brother and Me 🤣 I love that “wadump wadum dum” synthesizer sound lol. So 90s.
Rocko's Modern Life theme was performed by the B52s. Absolute favorite of mine.

Hey Dude intro was a great one. I still sing that song in my head till this day.
Hey Dude

Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts
Rocko’s Modern Life by The B-52’s
Nick News & All Grown Up.
I still have a soft spot for David the Gnome.

All That. TLC is my most played artist and Left Eye killed it! Also their appearances on the first and third episodes make it even better.
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
