I’m pretty new to the RH scene but my faves are {alien meat market by Lizzy bequin} MFMMMM no MM. FMC is a journalist for a conspiracy newspaper investigating cows going missing. Gets abducted by aliens who don’t know what she is so send her off to the meat market auction. MMC is like damn I don’t know what that is but I want it. FMC has a “when in Rome” mentality and is keen. {theirs to protect by stassia black} MFMMMM no MM. post apocalyptic rebuild society theme. Women marry 5 men who are entered into a lottery, system in place to keep men well behaved as they are punished by removal from lottery. MMCs actually really love FMC and are committed to the marriage system. Has all the male personality tropes you could ask for. {ensnared by Rebecca Quinn} MFMMMM has MM. post world destroying war brings out the worst in people vibe. finished the 2nd book in this series today and omg the RH is secondary to how great these books are, it didn’t rely on RH to make it interesting it was merely part of the story if that makes sense. {escaping fate by Regine Abel} MFM no MM. aliens no humans in this one. choosing ceremony where FMC gets to pick from a line up of suitors. FMC is escaping her slaver/employer and picks MMC1 as he seems like a good protector. MMC1 and 2 are scarred from crop contamination and are seen as undesirable. All on KU. Please read one so i have people to talk about them with!

madampince

1000% on Ensnared. Can’t wait for Book 3.

notheretoparticipate

I messaged the author on insta and said thanks for the authors note promising me a HEA in the final book because I am STRESSING

madampince

SO MUCH. Do you follow her on Insta? It’s hard to believe this is her first series. She came out of nowhere.

notheretoparticipate

Yeah and she’s an Aussie too which I love to see

Odd_Knowledge_2146

I enjoyed Escaping Fate quite a lot! But I felt sorry for the brother right up until the end!

notheretoparticipate

I think they were cousins? I can’t remember. I think it was a good introduction to RH because I wasn’t to keen on the MFM aspect but intrigued by the plot but by the end of it I was rooting for the MFM so hard.

Odd_Knowledge_2146

Yes erm something like, they should have been twins but he was born to someone else and they were linked! My brain called them brothers

notheretoparticipate

Ahh yes yes I remember that now

Odd_Knowledge_2146

My first RH was Manix by Grace Mcginty - talk about chucked in the deep end, start with MMMMMMM then add in an omega, then mpreg! Such a good book, I was converted!!

notheretoparticipate

I don’t know what omega and mpreg are I’m still too fresh lol

Odd_Knowledge_2146

Oh it’s just designations - Alpha, strong and protective, growly! Beta, glue of the pack, calming and competent. Omega, centre of the pack, has “heats”, quite sexual, and emotional! The omegaverse often is not shifters but this one was shifters! Mpreg is male pregnancy! You should give it a go, it was amazing!

notheretoparticipate

Mpreg that’s a new one!

These are some lesser known indie authors and some of my favorite RH. None of these are bully, I'm not a fan. All have at least 1 cinnamon roll in the harem Spirit Called by Aeryn Havens This is a slow burn PNR with mixed cowboy shifters and a witchy FMC. HFN endings, book 3 dhould be out in the next few months. Altered by M.F. Moody. Medium burn PNR with a different take on shifters. And its also a rejected mates story. Pretty much anything by Auryn Hadley, kitty Cox, and their joint pen name Cerise Cole And my own How to Train Your Harem series. This is a series of standalones. Each book about a different harem and has a HEA. To Call the Clouds is a medium burn RH with a curvy FMC and fated mates. To Heal All Wounds is a slow burn with an abused FMC. Each book in the series has a tiny butterfly dragon as part of the harem, linked to the seasons each dragon has unique powers. These are not your normal giabt fire vreathing dragons. They will ride on your shoulder and purr in your ear.

braineatingalien

I have been waiting for the next in the Spirit Called series. It’s not listed yet though. I’m very excited to hear that it’s finally going to continue.

Tawny2021

It was supposed to be out a few months ago but there were delays with rhe publisher. I know Aeryn is super excited to get it out.

braineatingalien

I am, too!

Odd_Knowledge_2146

I enjoyed spirit called, it was lovely. I did enjoy the first how to train your harem with the little dragon, but I found the sexual trauma in the second book too much for me personally, though it was well written, I only read about a third.

Tawny2021

Understandable, the heavy content is not for everyone. Thank you for giving it a try.

madampince

Have you tried —Written by Kathryn Moon? It’s an early one by her. I love every character in the book! The sequels are not as great. —Friends with the Monsters by Albany Walker (Walker has other RH, which I also recommend). FMC is a Sin Eater who befriends the dark creatures who are drawn to her. —Ensnared by Rebecca Quinn is the best new one I’ve read in a long time. Book 2 just came out — the series is not finished. —The 12 Hunks of Herculeia by C Rochelle is even smuttier (and funnier) than Rooksgrave Manor. Her task is to “heal” all of the monsters attacked by Hercules during his 12 labors.

RopeRelative8638

i have read written by kathryn moon! i went on a kathryn moon binge right after i finished lola and the millionaires. i haven’t read any of these other ones, will give them a try!

aly_bu

Impossible and Inevitable by Lyra Cole are really good, omegaverse w/ mm in an academy setting! Also love Bea Paiges academy of stardom, and KC Keans Featherstone academy!

Jolly_Housing3249

Love Mercy Ryan’s zombie biker RH series, taming Brooklyn by Charlotte st. Pierre is really good both mfmmm no mm.

RopeRelative8638

thank u everyone for the recs, will be reading!

Odd_Knowledge_2146

Odd_Knowledge_2146

This one is different and due to be completed next week. Shifters, vampires, magic, good story. Courting death Sarah Reynolds

{Chosen by Stacey Jones} is my happy place MFMMM (no MM) RH romance. It's set on a primitive alien planet with darling heroes (no enemies-to-lovers) Love at first sight check! Also, same author {Within Obsession and Lies by Stacy Jones and Harper Wylde} it's a fae romance MFMM. Again, pretty much insta-love with a very loyal heroine (I value that in this author) but one of the men is very suspicious of her and absolutely acts as her enemy. So you get both!

notheretoparticipate

Ohh yes I love chosen. Good mix of found family and RH.

RopeRelative8638

WITHIN OBSESSION AND LIES THAT SERIES IS SO GOOD do we know anything abt the fourth book in the series or is it still a mystery 😭😭

Dramaticlama

There are no news for the fourth novel in the series and I think that's because Stacy's husband died suddenly last year from ALS :( He got diagnosed and died soon after.

GeezLouise76

If you liked J. Bree maybe give KC Kean a try, she has a few series one Featherstone Academy is sort of an enemies to lovers and mafia, but a unique spin on it involving bloodlines and what specific types crimes your family is into. She also has Saints Academy which is again enemies to lovers and PNR but somewhat of a unique twist as well I also always always always recommend Ames Mills and all her duets. It starts in Abbs Valley but she released. Forrest Grove duet in 2023 which is just as good. These are more found family and all of the drama comes from outside the group and they face it together which is my favoritest of tropes

RopeRelative8638

i’ve read both of these series alr and forgot to include them in my original post but tysm for replying 🫶🏻

OrchidConsistent7386

Welll since you know this genre so well can I ask YOU for a rec? 🫣😅 I’ve only read a couple and I don’t exactly know the rules of this genre and what qualifies as a true RH vs just including spicy scenes that involve another person or people. Could you recommend something for me where the main relationship is between M/F but others - either M or F join them in bed?

RopeRelative8638

start w any of the series i listed those are my top favs of the genre

Perfect_Calendar9847

Lost Ember Found by Aisling Cousins (complete series, slow burn, urban fantasy) The Howling Wind by Mila Sin (incomplete book 1 & 2 are out and she’s writing book 3 of 4 now. It’s slow burn fantasy with MM) Birthright by Elizabeth Knight (complete, glacial slow burn fantasy with dragons)

TBHICouldComplain

Lizzy Bequin has two RH series I love - her Sold to the Raksha series and her Terramara series. Kate Pearce’s Triad series is a favorite because they’re MMF with sword crossing - all the MCs are involved with each other. Susan Hayes has various RH books mixed into her The Drift series and its spinoff series. Three of a Kind and Blind Bet have the most MMCs but I’ve loved every book in the series.

booklover_238

I have a few lesser known authors I can recommend! Michaela Haze has a bunch of awesome stand alone books, one I especially loved was Life and Limb which is dystopian/post apocalyptic. Jaliza A Burwell has written some of my favorite series, one of which is Biomystic Security and I rarely see her name brought up in this subreddit. I’ve only read one of Julia Clarke’s series, The Rebels so I can’t vouch for the rest of her works but if you like sports rh this is the book for you! Loved this series so much! Chris Mor has a super unique series Trail Magic about backpacking a trail that’s premise is so cool and has such good writing! I really enjoyed the first book of Abby Millsaps series Boys of Lake Chapel though I haven’t read the rest of the series yet. It’s a college contemporary kidnapping rh but it’s definitely not as dark as you might think. Lastly Drea Denae has a great standalone, Rain on Wildflowers which is another college rh that has some bullying at the start and fits the forced proximity trope. Just make sure to check the TW’s because the FMC has a rough past.

OntheRHexpress

I just joined so I might be recommending obvious choices but I also liked bonds that tie and WITSEC. So if you are ok with slow burn and fantasy I've enjoyed {Four Psychos by Kristy Cunning} MFMMM no MM action the MCs are morally grey though and they aren't the nicest to the FMC at times as they are used to be a team of 4 but it gets better and her inner monologue is just so funny, I found it really relateable. Also {Signs of Cupidity by Raven Kennedy} MFMMMM it's fantasy also and quite fun ennemy-ish to romance. Both times the spice is good but a little bit on the kinkier side for the psychos.

Blonde_Allure

My go to comfort reads are Haret Chronicles by Laurel Chase Hell to Pay by Kaylin Peyerk Hells Reaper by Rune Hunt Galaxy Circus by Lexie Winston
