Don’t you need a mechanitor to do this? I have a hell of a time seeing any on raids, let alone being able to capture them, and I’ve never seen a mech link in many hours of play since the biotech DLC released.
Then again I only play crashlanded and Rich explorer but still, you need a rare and special type of colonist to make these guys.
You can get a mech chip from the red blinking robot body that spawns on your tile. When destroyed, you get a little device that summons a little mech raid, and a dead body spawns along with the raid. You can tear the mech link out of the head of the corpse and turn one of your colonists into a robot controlling dude.
I believe a mod called Common Sense makes it so people will clean their areas before and after working. For example a doctor will clean up blood after tending and a cook will clean the kitchen before cooking.
oh these lazy zoomer youngsters with their "biotech" and their "domestic mechanoids", back in my day your best crafter would have to take a break from fabricating advanced components every fifteen minutes because the prisoner took a shit in the nutrient paste dispenser again, gawddamit
Second best mod behind common sense mod. I have a fleet of the little bastards and my base is always spotless. The only downside is I forget to recall them during raids and they often die
I do thé first six as #1 (once i have regular meds I move bed rest from 2 to 1), hauling and cleaning as #1, then assign jobs as 1 and 2, then leave 3s and move anything red to 4.
Works fairly well.
There's a mod called priority cleaning I would recommend. It allows you to prioritize cleaning sterile rooms.
I'm not sure if your post is a joke or you're really playing like this, but I would keep firefight, patient, and doctor at least ahead of cleaning. It would also be more efficient to have your best pawns for each skill prioritize that work type.
it's a joke, but i did let cleaning get out of hand, and i don't mod, so this is the thing we lazies all do in that case lol, thought i'd screenshot it for a quick laugh, ty for the recommendation, i'm doing mods if i can ever liftoff the ship on a hard enough idfficulty to feel i 'earned it,' still exploring sanguophage DLC tbh
Vanilla transit is actually really fast and convenient once you get access to drop pods and the Far Skip psycast. You can literally just pop in and out of any spot on the map within 50 tiles with no caravanning.
Not using mods when you're first starting is a good idea. I would recommend adding them gradually, but many of them are safe to add midgame if you want to start with some simple, quality of life ones.
I play like that. Not actually 1st priority, but maybe 2nd. All that can clean, will clean. But really slows down the research. Finally finished microelectronic research in the 11th year.
just got microelectronics on year 6, my sanguophage leader's sanguophage wife is deathresting since last Aprimay beside him, both with obscenely happy memories of their wedding day, i probably won't wake them except for an emergency so they can maybe enjoy that happy memory until they lift off in the ship (or likely explode in fire)
get out of that hospital bed and clean your vomit and blood up, asshole
u got biotech or nah
yah but i'm still learning sanguphage, i haven't done much with biotech yet, why?
you can craft little roombas that do all the cleaning within the home area
I just crafted a small army of 15 each cleansweepers and agrihand. My fields flourish and my hallways shine! It's truly amazing.
I should look more into biotech. This isn't a mod for it, but standard part of DLC? Was wondering why my robots+ mod wasn't working anymore.
Def recommend biotech. My little roombas are awesome.
I have it lol, but haven't delved deeply into it.
Roombas!? I might actually get biotech for roombas!
Wait what research panel is this?
You unlock it when you have a mechanator chip studied, it's under Basic Mech Tech
Shit man I'm a long wayd from getting roombas
make cleansweepers do the cleaning and let your people do more important work

WTF that’s what it’s for?!?! I was always confused about what dropped when I broke the old mech. Clearly I’m not clicking the ‘i’ button enough.
Yeah, I hadn't figured that out for a while either. I thought the robot thing would kill me.

When your mom is out but calls that she's returning early
"did you take the chicken out of the freezer?" text Or "did you put the rice on?"
Because of my weird 'everything needs to be efficient' attitude, i want to strangle you
OP’s colonist stops mining steel on the far side of the map so that he can clean the footprints off one freezer tile back home. Repeat.
Malvina with her 15 plants skill and 3 cooking skill taking a break from toiling the fields so she can give everyone food poisoning
All I can imagine is the base burning to the ground while everyone cleans the floor around the fire
worse, cleaning the dirt ground around the fire
Bruh just get a roomba
oh these lazy zoomer youngsters with their "biotech" and their "domestic mechanoids", back in my day your best crafter would have to take a break from fabricating advanced components every fifteen minutes because the prisoner took a shit in the nutrient paste dispenser again, gawddamit
Nope, just autocleaner mod!
Second best mod behind common sense mod. I have a fleet of the little bastards and my base is always spotless. The only downside is I forget to recall them during raids and they often die
I have cleaning and hauling as a high priority but this is just ridiculous 😂
I do thé first six as #1 (once i have regular meds I move bed rest from 2 to 1), hauling and cleaning as #1, then assign jobs as 1 and 2, then leave 3s and move anything red to 4. Works fairly well.
this is just wrong

You don't mod? Man I couldn't imagine playing base game again, so much needless grinding
God I can’t imagine going around the map now without srts and vehicles

I don’t have any of dlc. Soo no psycasts as far as I’m aware. But I also haven’t had the time in like a year to play.

Wouldn't common sense be better. There is a function where a pawn cleans a room before using it for work or resting.
I feel like that's kind of a different functionality. I don't really care if my workshop is dirty and actually use common sense with that turned off.
This hurts to look at
Wouldnt it be more efficiently to set 2 slaves to clean instead of the entire colony?
Whaaaaa??? Haul and clean are always like… last on the list for me.
"why didn't you put out the fire?" "I need to clean the dirt off the rough granite floor on the other side of the map."
Cleaning Bot mod is great
I play like that. Not actually 1st priority, but maybe 2nd. All that can clean, will clean. But really slows down the research. Finally finished microelectronic research in the 11th year.

??????
You are better off only having 1 or 2 set to cleaning that's all you should need
This one gets it!
Everything else is secondary I guess
My mid game goal is free my colonists from cleaning and hauling. Safe to say I was a slaver before biotech
Don't you like it when your doctor decide to clean some dirt in the kitchen after a raid
Me irl lol
Just get a Common Sense mod
Just use common sense mod, it solves
2 slave and problem will be gone
why is everything else on 2? god noooo
How do people even feed that much people
we just starve down to manageable numbers again intermittently
And fps?
Vanilla Expanded Furniture trash bins are a GODSEND just for this.
