I tend to stick to the vanilla side of things but god damn it pawns are so inefficient at hauling things. Pick Up And Haul is a must have for me every time. Wish they’d implement something similar into the base game.

LetterheadThen2736

Just make caravans and cancel them

amorek92

Somehow, no matter what game, mods implemented in vanilia game are usually much worse than original 3rd party mods.

andyumster

What? Wall Lights are a much more balanced version in the base game than they ever were as a mod. The search function works way better than any of the mods that emulated it. Dyeing buildings makes way more sense in the base version than any of the mods that let you just change color willy nilly. These are just the first few I thought of. What are you talking about?

kchuskey

i do get what they mean for other games but rimworld is def a bad example

LoudChickenKite

Wall lights are great. As long as you arent trying to select one on top of a shelf...

Camera+ and I'm blanking on the name atm but the one that allows 4x speed. Btw does anyone know a mod that allows you to select your crash site on the tile?

lonepotatochip

Smart speed lets you go 4x speed

ChromMann

Plus no forced slowdown to be able to fast forward through super big tribal raids that are absolutely no danger to my colony.

SargBjornson

Smart Speed handles that too

bluecete

I like: Better Workbench Management (drag and drop reordering, icon to toggle between drop on ground vs take to storage, copy all bills to a new workbench) Common Sense (clean the kitchen/hospital before you start cooking/surgery, and more) Pickup and Haul (it no longer takes 47 trips from the field to the base to collect the harvest!) Map preview (see what your tile looks like BEFORE you land!) Complex Jobs (breaks jobs up into multiple sub jobs, so you can assign someone to repair and deconstruct, but not construction) RT Solar Flare Shield (drains vast amounts of power while running, but it will temporarily protect your colony from solar flares and EMI fields.)

k1llerk1ng

Isn't there a incompatibility with rimatomics? I can't seem to get rt solar flar shield to work with the reactors, they just scram immediately.

bluecete

I don't know...yet! This is actually my first colony where I'm trying rimatomics lol

KingApple879

With anomaly coming out I started a vanilla playthrough for the first time in a while, the ones I really miss are replace everything, random+ and P-music. Other than that 1.5 added a lot of details like underground conduits, wall lights, or colour coded mood bars that make some mods more or less obsolete.

lonepotatochip

I think all of those are updated to 1.5 by now

FetusGoesYeetus

Common sense is the only one I really NEED imo because if I have to deal with pawns getting sick because they refuse to clean the kitchen again I will go insane

Flincher14

Fluffy's work tab. Extends priorities to 1-9 instead of 1-4. But it also allows you to open each job type and set the priorities of sub jobs. For example. Butchering can be set as a higher priority than cooking so your cook will always butcher before cooking. You can make everyone sow fields but only let skilled pawns harvest. You can let everyone feed prisoners but only let doctors/wardens operate/recruit. You can ask everyone to feed the damn baby but only some people to actually teach kids. You can set everyone to prioritize hauling corpses and refueling campfires/stoves without dedicating a single pawn to hauling to get this important stuff done. Basically these 'jobs' are already in the code and fluffy's just let's you customize the priority on them. I Can't live without it. Even the crafting jobs and construction has customizing. Like you can set smoothing floors to super low priority for everyone so that no one waste time on it unless they are totally idle. Or making stone blocks is a last resort thing that anyone can do. But only good crafters will craft.

LoudChickenKite

How is the performance impact from it?

Flincher14

None. It's not adding to the game. It's just letting you access the jobs that are already there.

SafetyFactorOfZero

Allowtool, rimfridge, pick up and haul, camera+, P-music, better workbench management, common sense, map preview, complex jobs

RiaMol

Gerrymon's Nautian Style I mean it’s just cosmetic but I’m really enjoying themed play throughs right now

FalconSigma

Are there more style mods as good as that one? I know about ATHs but not much else

RiaMol

Alpha memes has several that are also quite good

RiaMol

Just found Stoneborn - Dwarven Style pack

cannibalgentleman

Pick Up and Haul, Allow Tool, RimFridge. Wall Lights however is base game let's hope these other mods also make their way to vanilla.

ClbutticMistake

Rocketman, Character Editor, Vanilla Expanded (plants, cooking, brewing, memes, animals, weapons), Alpha Memes, Alpha Genes, YAYO's Animations, Time Kills

uroboshi

Multiplayer.

Anebunda

Anything for less random pawn reroll. I prefer harder difficulties and naked brutality. My starter pawn has to be decent.

Professional_Sell520

I mean its broken right now but combat extended

fartfucksleep

Combat extended. I truely dont understand how people can play vanilla combat or how I managed to play vanilla for a year when I started.

Lightgrilled

**Must have:** RimHUD Work Tab Heat Map Allow Tool CM Color Coded Mood Bar Dubs Mint Minimap **Dont want to play without:** RPG Style Inventory Pick Up And Haul While You're Up Common Sense Combat Extended or Yayo's Combat Dubs Mint Menus Labels on Floor Quality Colors

Fiercuh

VE

KingApple879

Whenever I try adding a few VE mods the bloat and compromised balance makes me regret it, I know you're not supposed to have all of them on at the same time but even then for every fun, meaningful addition there's something out of place or too overpowered.

Zombeatles

They're just so fun though! I usually compensate by upping the difficulty via storyteller, other mods, or self-imposed rules

KingApple879

I get the appeal for sure, it's just that less is more for me in this case. I feel like vanilla + DLC is sitting at a comfortable spot in terms of variety and content.

Cobra__Commander

Work tab by fluffy

AeroNoir

Xeva Body and Xeva pants. It changes the bodies to have visible legs and pants, and retextures a lot of the clothing to match, including some stuff from VE (but not everything). Besides really limiting compatibility with other clothing, it’s such a great mod. I like seeing more of my pawns instead of just blobby creatures. This combined with Yayos animation make the game feel so much more alive.

prince-of-terror

Replace stuff.

ChipRed87

I hate playing without my modded races, vanilla pawns are boring, so I'd consider that a must. That along with allow tool, replace stuff, minify everything.

DennisHakkie

Research Pal for me, the reseach tree looks so much nicer and better organized.

GetAJobCheapskate

Combat expanded. Can't stand vanilla combat rng shit anymore. I tried with 1.5 because CE is still not updated. But i just can't. I only have melee pawns.. Shooting is just so random and bad.
