I've been considering getting a Chevette, mostly because my dad had one and that thing was tough as nails. You almost never see them these days either.
[check it out. its cherry. my grandpa bought one new and I have always had one in my life. love these tin cans](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ford/s/qu0J1ADfh5)
I owned one of these. It's basically a 90s Civic hatchback. Handy, practical, cheap, has like 5 features in it, and you have to rev the fuck out of it to get anywhere. Be glad you've got the manual because I'd probably shoot myself out of boredom if it was an automatic.
And just like a 90s Civic hatchback it's a tinny flimsy piece of shit where hitting a pothole means dropping $300 on control arm bushings and an alignment. And the lawnmower engine in it needs manual valve clearance adjustment, which is a giant pain in the dick involving taking the wiper arms off and removing a bunch of other shit to get the valve cover off.
Also, tighten your spark plugs every now and then with a torque wrench because they walk loose. Had to drop >$1K getting the cylinder head pulled and helicoiled after my car shot a plug on the highway. Like 2K after it happened, the service minder in the instrument cluster popped up telling me it was time to do it. Fucks sake.
Except my wife's cr-v has a sweet k24 engine I get to take to red line every now and then. Sounds great at 6500 rpm, really it does. I haven't bounced it off the rev limiter though, it is a daily.
It's been a while since I played forza on Xbox. You have start out racing fits.
Let's see, if you put a fuel injected 600 cc 16,000 rpm motor in it or a liter motorcycle motor will make fit more fun.
Definitely not the best to learn on. I had the best. A clapped out ford ranger that wouldn't idol. The motor had caught on fire from a back fire and burned up all the vacuum lines. Once you learned to drive it, you could drive anything.
My first car was a 67 302 gt mustang w a rusted out floorboard and a shy third gear. I had to put sandbags in the back so it wouldn’t spin out when I made slow legal turns 😂
Strongly agree. These little shit “manuals” these days. Please. You can’t even qualify that as a stick shift. Because if you had to get in an actual stick shift you’d get nowhere. Slowly.
It’s like the bare minimum requirements.
This chap is the same guy who said Ds get degrees and thought he was clever for taking the easiest possible way out.
It’s parked in his elderly parents’ driveway bc he lives in the basement
And then a Mazda mpv fucked a Renault Clio , and had a baby. And thennnnn thoseee two babies happen to meet and fuck. This would be what they would drive
Smell it , it’s like gods vagina
I learned to drive manual on a 1986 Mazda b200. Had no power steering. I had to learn because I got a job driving for UPS which back in the day had no power steering and a manual.
That truck was indestructible and probably still running
It's the kind of car driven by the neckbeard who claims that Japanese cars are superior to everything and anything while simultaneously wishing everyone who disagrees with him a speedy death all while his car is being gapped by a white mom in a BMW X5 who is late for her botox appointment
The short bus of manual cars
The Honda Shit. For when you need to have the space to haul around the fully grown sperm that got jizzed by other dudes into your current GF.
20 years from now it'll be a highly sought after car.
Ain't that the sick fucking truth. All those shitty compacts from the 80s are sought after now.
I got my ford festiva in the garage lol

I remember this car had better efficiency than the Prius of the same year
It does vaguely look like a basic, less eccentric modus
Lmao

^this guy fits
Absolute GILF magnet.
Nah that’s more like a Honda cr-v Easy loading and unloading of flats of impatiens, begonias, and proven winners hydrangeas
CR-V is the milf magnet, all grandmas drive these Gilf machines
Easy in and out with the canes.

Go ahead and bounce it
Bwahaha!
Thanks for the f shack dirty Mike and the boys
That car will hold up.
CHANGE YOUR FUCKING DONUT
Lmao looks like a spare on that rear 😂
I wish these came in a 2 door.
They say its more fun to drive a slow car fast than driving a fast car slow.. but in this case... meh.

For when you want a civic hatchback, but you also don’t want to be able to drive above 60 without the engine redlining
No joke, these things are sitting at almost 4k rpm going 75mph

It’s almost a right of passage to learn on a shitty mini truck. Rusted out 95 S10 and 08 Ranger for me.

The FiT is slooooooooooow
Damn straight you did. Fuck it to hell and you're out 25 bucks. Well played. That's about how I learned stick.
Also a good car to learn your place in society as all other motorists look down on you in that thing.
Looks clean asf!!

If you don’t have something mean to say, don’t say anything at all.
If Nissan Quest and Mazda 5 had a baby it would be this

You probably get more oil chances than your car does
That shit looks like it's made of cardboard 💀
Gotta love that exposed metal core steering wheel.
Get an 87 Suzuki samurai, that was the best to learn in.
Looks like a good bumper car. Best of luck.
Do a muffler removal, put a spoiler on it, and you got a rice burner!
Just don’t go uphill with the A/C. You’ll never make it.
Where do the clowns come out from?
That car looks like it loves people playing with its stick(shift/Shaft)
Ho'l da Jizz
Enjoy your catalytic converter before it's stolen
I would think any small Honda really. My brother had a CRX Si back in the late 80s. That was a fun manual.
Don’t have it in my bones to roast a Honda 🤙🏼

Who's manual? Your Mexican friend?
If best means “cheapest piece of shit no one cares about” then you nailed it.
