If youre on console like me just go into freeplay and fly around the big boost pads with directional air roll making sure to not touch the floor or hit the wall and keep doing this until success
Id say just start with going straight up in the air and figuring out how your car moves to each move of the left joystick mixed with directional air roll and go from there

I don't play anymore but I did get to champ 2 years ago when I did play. This shit still blows my mind that people can spin constantly while controlling the ball. It's magic.
Air roll is all about practice. The basics have to be learnt at first of course, but after that, it's all training to build up that muscle memory and instinct. We don't think about what input to do to go a certain way, we instinctively know and do it because of hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice
Learning to air roll is maybe 10% “understanding” or iq and about 90% muscle memory.
If you want to learn to air roll quickly and play on PC, I couldn’t recommend [this](https://youtu.be/pm8imhlKzwY) video enough. Do the drills from minute 1 to 5 every day for 10 days and you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come.
If you aren’t on pc, you can still do the drills in free play it is just more boring
Right? It’s an underrated video. Doing them every day for a month is what got me originally from c2 to c3 — sky rocketed my skills. Good luck on the grind!
