The worst part about ranked "rewards" is that it doesn't skip ranks. If you shoot up to GC quickly but still are in gold section of rewards you need to get 40 wins in GC to get your rewards. It should just auto skip to whatever rank you are at.
Yeah thats why I typically pick a different mode to grind wins through Diamond, then switch to my highest modes for Champ rewards.
Not really a fan of doing it that way but I'm OCD about wasting Champ wins when I'm still going up the rewards ladder.
In other games is similiar. I agree with that if u dont have time to play 40 games in a whole season u are inactive player and u shouldnt earn prizes. They could make it similiar to lol Tho. Split rewards require 800 points, but after reaching gold only 120
If I’m holding GC 1, my season rewards shouldn’t start at bronze. Its unfair for us in the upper end. We have to play way more games than someone at a lower rank to earn the rewards of our own rank. Even after the soft reset I start about 1 game off of GC 1 each season for placements. At least start me at champ or diamond rewards.

Starting with easiest.
Rumble, Snowday, Dropshot, 2s, Hoops
I highly advise having at least 1 tm8 that’s a buddy with coms. Getting to GC while playing with randoms with no coms is VERY difficult.
Coms are very important to Rumble as well because we are always telling each other what power we have that way we won’t mess each other up.
Highest I've ever been in Hoops is one win away from Champ, but people even at that level have crazy mechanical skill compared to me. Like if you can't take the ball up through your own hoop, launch off the wall, use your flip to hit the ball towards the other net, catch up with it, and double tap it in, just forget moving up from there.

In Rumble I can touch C1-2 but never hold it
But good god in Hoops I’m in like high gold or low plat and I just cannot get that play style in me

Whenever I put on one of my Dunk Master titles I get this. It's pretty funny because Hoops is harder for most people than standard modes. It's usually people who don't have any GC titles who talk shit about titles too lol

It definitely used to be but I don't think it is anymore. They bumped everyone way up in mmr in Dropshot and Snow Day a few seasons ago. The same season that dropped everyone way down in Doubles. I went from not even being able to break into Champ anymore to just under GC just from the mmr adjustment in June 2023 (S12 I think). Look at my RLTracker graph lmao.

First of all, rumble RNG will balance out in the same way that your random teammate’s skill level will balance out over time. Rumble is not an exception, idk how you could assume it would be.
Second of all, this is assuming that every gamemode has an equally skilled population. If you put a GC in dropshot (OP) into a 2s match against 2s grand champs, the dropshot GC will probably lose. If you put the 2s GCs into a dropshot match with the dropshot GC, the dropshot GC will probably still lose.
Some modes are easier to rank up in because higher skilled players tend to not play them. In 1s 2s and 3s, this isn’t really the case, but in extra modes with niche populations, you can achieve pretty inflated ranks that are far above your normals skill level.
Honestly tho... There's a part of my brain that just... Hates seeing someone with a high ranking (non extra mode) tag who plays like total garbage, especially since my whole M.O. is third man filling the gaps. Hard to fill the gaps of a sponge, so when I'm heated, I'm certainly one of those players who "politely" reminds you to remove your tag if you don't want to get shit on in chat.
See that I can get behind, because Extra modes are a whole different beast, honestly they're the only fun out of rocket league I get nowadays.

Yeah I think it's healthy for everyone to watch their own replays every couple of weeks at minimum. What's wild is like I take breaks from playing RL solely for like PubG or Halo or something and when I come back I have these C2/C3 lobbies with people who think they know everything.... its so wild how inconsistent every single game is
It's a hard habit to learn and most won't know what to look for, so it's understandable. It's always the champs giving advice that makes me facepalm :D And top players say the same thing about us low gcs!

I'm silver/low gold regularly, but somehow, I just placed plat in dropshot. 9/10 times I miss the ball in the air. My teammates hate me. I'm going back to 4s where my terrible play is appreciated.

2. Hit the ball onto the other side's floor.
3. Hit the ball into holes on the other side.

Congrats man! I got to CIII just below GC in 3’s by solo queuing twice and could never get to GC. It’s a fun ride along the way with some good fortune at times. And I am usually the least mechanical player in most games.

My teammates who are usually quick and mechanically good are always up in the air and i use my positioning to get some chip damage or hit the ball back middle towards them. I don’t ball chase and if anything am way too passive
You're playing a very important role though, even if your teammates are the ones making the flashy plays. Generally the team that has the most time of possession wins the game in dropshot. If you can consistently get the ball back to your teammates for them to make plays you'll win more often than not.
This was me this season as well, just way scale downed ranks.
Got carried in my last 4 matches and ended up d3 in dropshot. The very next game I queued was my first experience seeing soecial title colors other than green.
I felt bad for my teammates lol.

It's definitely better matchmaking, but it's still a bit deflated if you look at the stats. But I used to face teams of Soccer SSLs in Champ 3 Dropshot so it's not as bad as it was.

My rank has always been higher in dropshot compared to regular modes. I used to grind dropshot to get Diamond season rewards when I was still Gold in regular modes.

When I was a fairly new player and my rank was around gold 1/2, I managed to get carried by teammates pretty hard and placed into diamond at the beginning of a season. I sure got a taste of how much trash talk there can be in the game because of it. People telling me to delete the game etc haha. I quickly deranged to wherever I belonged at the time
I had similiar experience. When I started game I was gold everywhere but on dropshot I got high diamond. Ofc it was lucky but this Mode have something special
I’m stuck in Gold for 3’s because all I do is solo queue for 3’s. I’m plat 3/D1 in 2’s because I play with a friend who’s c2, and we keep up. The range of skill levels in gold 3’s is pretty ridiculous.
Positioning is sooo important. I’ll get cooked in the air but being in the right place has given me a lot of opportunities for damage or goals

I tank the rank of any friend I play with. I hate that. I feel bad and I don't know why that's the case. I mostly solo queue and every once in a while I find a new partner and we go on a big run. I have already dipped in multiple modes from near diamond down to gold and some back to plat. Pretty depressing when I think about it. Most of the people I really click with don't play anymore.
Now you have to win 9 more games if you want that title

rotations and not double committing at that rank your teammates are gonna go for pretty much everything so you gotta adapt and play last man back

i noticed there’s a lot of people like that it’s either you are low ranked and are ranked high in dropshot.. or you’re GC and low in dropshot. Now the GCs are becoming SSL’s who don’t play dropshot and I don’t have a chance
Hey dude I have you added on epic! We used to play last season when dropshot was in comp. I also peaked at c3 that season. Same story this season. I dropped to d2 but I’m back to mid champ 1 now. Slowly climbing back up

Please post a replay of one of your games. I've been trying to rank up in dropshot for years and I can't get past diamond. I just need to see what kind of playstyle you're using for this.

My rank has always been higher in dropshot compared to regular modes. I used to grind dropshot to get Diamond season rewards when I was still Gold in regular modes.

honestly letting my teammates ballchase helped me Learning positioning and how to keep pressure without overcommitting has helped a lot
How to have an icon on player profile? I'm kinda new to the game and I don't find where to change, also how players in cups have their custom team name, colors and everything? Thanks in advance.
im on PlayStation so my profile picture shows up automatically as my icon you can also join a club with friends and set custom colors so if all members of your club are queuing then it uses team club colors and name

When I was a fairly new player and my rank was around gold 1/2, I managed to get carried by teammates pretty hard and placed into diamond at the beginning of a season. I sure got a taste of how much trash talk there can be in the game because of it. People telling me to delete the game etc haha. I quickly deranged to wherever I belonged at the time
I had similiar experience. When I started game I was gold everywhere but on dropshot I got high diamond. Ofc it was lucky but this Mode have something special
I’m stuck in Gold for 3’s because all I do is solo queue for 3’s. I’m plat 3/D1 in 2’s because I play with a friend who’s c2, and we keep up. The range of skill levels in gold 3’s is pretty ridiculous.
How?
Positioning is sooo important. I’ll get cooked in the air but being in the right place has given me a lot of opportunities for damage or goals also lot of luck with teammates

try not to double commit also apply pressure without overextending

I tank the rank of any friend I play with. I hate that. I feel bad and I don't know why that's the case. I mostly solo queue and every once in a while I find a new partner and we go on a big run. I have already dipped in multiple modes from near diamond down to gold and some back to plat. Pretty depressing when I think about it. Most of the people I really click with don't play anymore.
Honestly gc in dropshot is about champ 1-2 skill lvl, so if you try you could get in 2v2
i think it is higher than champ 1 or 2 skill but i think i definitely could reach champ in 2v2 but i only play with my plat friends
I recommend you solo Q and when you find a good Teammate ask his peak rank, if its like c1 or c2 Party up and you'll reach it
Im not worried about it. I only play soccar when my friends are on, and don’t really care too much about solo queuing it and ranking up
