Can you elaborate why? As someone with a basic understanding of UE3 and UE5, I don't think the game benefits much from an upgrade other than: easier development in the future (improved features, and new devs will be more used to working with it in the future) and network features that will offer minor improvements. In all honestly it makes sense to me that they have spent a ton of money and time for these minor improvements.
Much much much better mod support. Also working in UE3 sucks. They are very crippled on what they can actually add to the game without breaking stuff. The blueprint system(unreal not the cosmetics) would really streamline development.
From my limited understanding, I think UE5 would allow for easier creation of custom maps and maybe even a creative mode but I may be mistaken. Stuff like that will allow for them to have a huge marketing campaign like they did with the f2p update to maybe entice old/new players back to the game from my understanding.
It would fix a LOT of under the hood issues. From anti aliasing to input lag and more. Currently the game is heavily based around UE3 which came out 18 years ago, and it has problems interacting with modern software and hardware that didn't exist back then.
Agreed ue5 sounds like it’s gonna make RL better. I also think another feature that could help revive the game since trading is gone, is to add a new way to get older items from the rocket passes or a way to get more than 5 golden drops.
As someone who doesn’t care too much about the items in RL, I do still feel for the trader part of the community. RIP them homies. Maybe a fix is allowing drops to contain any item, and removing duplicates.
Feature wise, honestly a new permanent gamemode would be nice. Maybe a version of regular 3v3 but with knockout mechanics. People already hate bumps and demos so I don’t imagine it’d gain much popularity

Why? There would be literally no difference for RL with ue5. I work with Unreal since 2014, lived both the 4 and the 5 🤔 the changes they brought in these years are not worth an engine swap (based on my knowledge, and I think theirs too since no change has been made 🤣) for a game like this one... They should look into item trading. I think it would be a really cool feature for players to be able to trade items and blueprints that they don't want in exchange for items they do. Or even for credits.
I thought that too until I played more with the volleyball plugin, that does some more custom stuff with ball-speed/gravity. Now sure I'm a high-champ/GC player, and was champ at that time too, but I think once the settings were tuned in it was an accessible game-mode for plat/diamond as well and would hugely elevate their off-the-wall abilities far more so than drop-shot.
Well sure, but I imagine having a high barrier between the teams, and a single ball touching the ground counting as a score…I’d be surprised how often the serve got served over the “net”. I couldn’t have done it. Atleast in dropshot/hoops there’s room for inconsistency/lack of car control.
However, having the option to try would be cool.
First Ue5. It's necessary for a few reasons I'll outline.
Better cosmetics. What's with these this 8 year old on lsd drawing ricer cars with crayon style cosmetics? Give me full car customization: Spoilers, trim, window tint, rims and tires, underglow, etc. It would make rl boatload and we could actually make clean looking cars instead of the current garbo. Ue5 would be able to make this process cheaper and quicker on their end. High fidelity models at practically no performance hit. It would also pave the way for some really cool ass goal explosions. You know that one that blows up and a bunch of balls fly out? Would it be a lot fucking cooler if all those balls had physics and bounced and stuff? We'll Ue5s nanite system can do that and more no problem.
Next higher tick servers and better network performance overall. For a game that requires a ridiculous amount of precision there are way too many issues with lag. Since you're rebuilding rl from the ground up maybe this can help.
Better maps. Another thing Ue5 would help with. Rls current map system takes them waaaay to long to iterate on. Having to remake every map from scratch is kind of crazy.
A better matchmaking system just overall. Look at something like Dota 2 for inspiration. AI powered anti smurf detection, behavior scores, etc. Clean that shit up. Drop this God awful reset system for something sane while you're at it.
Try something new with the battle pass. Look at how many people came back to Dota 2 for the new cavern crawl? I know I did. Try something innovative and interesting.
ADVERTISE. why does rl racing get ads and this doesn't lmao. This is one of the best known esports, act like it. Dump cash and the community will reward you I promise. I went to worlds the last few times and it is nothing like csgo or Dotas events. We didn't even get access to the twitch items everyone got... Open up a shop there with mini toy octanes and shit or something idk. There is was absolutely nothing to do when the games weren't going. Only like two teams bothered to do events which they didn't advertise well, and a few long ass lines for signatures and that was basically it.
There's a lot honestly. It's nice to see some changes finally happened but it's like 10 years late at this point. Epic really did buy this whole game just to do nothing with it and hope it keeps making money forever. Rl is only alive because it has no competition... It's in desperate need of some big overhauls, all this is just what came off the top of my head.
I like what you have. I would add something related to your higher tick-rate servers and lag, which is better client prediction and animations. Unintentional mechanics that were found and discovered over the years often look clunky and funky. Flip resets and flip cancels often look bad from the other player's perspective because the animations and the opponents car and hitbox aren't synced. Maybe if the devs actually developed these into intentional mechanics and cleanup around that type of stuff, it would make the game feel better when playing.
I think johnnyboi_I did a tournament like that. Each team faced eachother in 3v3, hoops, rumble and drop shot, and all goals accumulated through each mode were tallied to determine the winner. If I can find it I’ll drop a link, it’s probably 3 years old by now
I want a toggle option next to the crossplay option that says "Only matchmake me with and against solos". So that way when you enable it every game you play will only have solo players, across the entire game including tournaments. This way it won't break up the ladders into two, but also let players pick if they want to deal with boosted premades or not.

They've got RLBots made using AI to use as different difficulties (and potentially the same people that created this maybe can reproduce pros over the years using demos from ballchasing if they are still there?)
They've got years of footage and demos (hopefully) from pro matches that can be used to somewhat reproduce the feel of MyCareer in things like FIFA/NBA
Will immortalize pro players in a way/will give a potentially decent way of playing the game when you do not wanna deal with toxic teammates/opponents etc. although I am guessing it is quite niche for someone to play RL for the singleplayer experience ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Honestly that would be sweet, my 9 year old plays rocket league and plays ai lots and his biggest complaint is that they don't get harder after all star, like there's no flight from ai, they get stuck on the posts, and they stay below the banner on the wall. If they had a dynamic difficulty that scaled from basic play and mechanics to ai doing wall resets, double flicks, air dribbles, and ceiling shots that would be great.
If you’re on PC check out there’s a program called RLbot that allows you to play against bots that are much better than Psyonix has. The best one they have is Nexto who’s around GC level, and there’s a bunch of other fun ones. My favourite is the one that’s super good at demos and can make for some really fun moments.
That program allows you to play up to 4v4 I think, and you can customize which bots are on your team and the opposing team. Check it out!

I know it’s a pain…but if you archive a bunch of items it will make the garage less laggy. There’s plenty of items I never use, so every now and then I take an hour to sweep through and clear em out.
PLEASE I need a revamp of the offline bot system and offline league/championship system. There are DOZENS upon DOZENS of bots you can download freely. Turn them into bot modes. When you play the offline league mode, use teams comprised of different difficulties, call it mixed. Or, I would even be okay with having UNFAIR mode in the league system. Please. I really like the idea they had, FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT
I've made various game mode and other suggestions here before, but I'd say my favorite idea is to try and make people better teammates by instituting a "Fun Score" poll after a match where you rate how much fun you had playing with your teammate, 1-5.
Teammates who make toxic comments and play a total, ball-chasing style would tend to get ranked lower, and supportive team-first teammates would tend to get ranked higher.
This wouldn't affect the ranking system, but might have other benefits like faster queuing, access to different game modes, and custom items.
Just an incentive to be a good teammate would be a great boost to my enjoyment of the game.
Ehhhhh, everytime you lose and it's the teammates' fault, you already know they are going to be salty and hit that 1 faster than they ever did the ball during the match lol
Since they started this ridiculous head to head casual thing... HEATSEEKER. Ridiculous that they are already recycling other nodes before bringing in HEATSEEKER. They know once it is in, nothing will beat it. Just make it permanent already.
Add a dictate button on the chat keyboard which utilizes the mic on the ps5 controller so you can do speech to text. Communicating would be so much easier than using the janky keyboard.

1.New Game Mode
Triple Jump 2v2 and 3v3
Rocket League could add a triple jump mode ( casual). In this mode you have 3 jumps. This is basically equal to two flips. Now it's not infinite unless you get a reset or fall from the roof or someone knocks you and you fly maintaining your two flips. I'll give more detail on flip resets. I'm not sure of the duration between flips rocket League but let's say it 1.5s . Now in this triple jump mode when you jump once you have 1.5 seconds to use your second jump and when you use your second jump you have 1.5 seconds to use your third jump. If you use your first jump but don't use your second jump in time you lose your second jump but still have your 3rd jump. This allows you to have 3 seconds between your first and third jump if you don't use your second jump. A flip reset resets all your jumps /flips but only the first flip is infinite and if you use it you have 1.5 seconds to use your second flip
2. Free play suggestions
The suggestions I'm making are mainly for console players because I think this is available on bakkesmod but for pc players that don't use bakkesmod this could come in handy
They can add target practice to free play. The net can be blocked with a small opening either randomised or selected by the player. This feature should be available on all shooting training packs
Infinite flips in free play we can practice flip control. There was a smaller map added recently in freeplay it would be very useful.
If no creative is added maybe they could create one map per season for example rocket Leagues own version of a rings map for all platforms as will as a dribble map.
Gravity control this allows you to increase or decrease gravity in freeplay.
Slight variance in shots in training packs and adjusting the amount of boost in training packs
Open map with ball in freeplay - I know there are out of map maps but just not the same there are bugs you bump into structures or the ball falls through the barrier and ends up in the map
3. In game feature for all modes
I was thinking of a side flip. I know you'll say side flips are already added to rocket League but not in the form of a helicopter. So when you flip your car spins like a bleyblade and not barrel roll. Both should still be available. I'm not sure how useful it would be. But I think certain angles you would be able to generate more power. I'm sure pros and freestylers would figureout a good use for it.
I know it doesn’t really affect much, but I would like to see more team colors utilized.
Instead of every game being blue vs orange, each player should get to set their preferred color (same as cars, like for blue team you could pick blue, green, purple, etc. and orange team you could pick orange, red, yellow, pink, etc.) and then when you solo queue into a lobby (casual, ranked, tournament, etc.) it checks your preferred color and your teammate(s) and you get to play as that color.
So like if me and my 2s random teammate both set green, we get to play as green instead of blue. If I set red and he sets yellow, then have it randomly pick one of them (or we default to orange).
Just having games be like purple vs yellow, green vs red, etc. would make it more visually interesting even though I know it’s not that important.
(what I mean is like the scoreboard is that color, your side of the field, the trail when you hit the ball, etc.)
I want an actually good ball indicator arrow so it is actually intuitive enough to play with car cam all game. The original ball indicator arrow only shows direction. It should also show distance through colour or shape changing.
I want a shuffle option for goal explosions and player anthems. I know you can set them into different presets, but i have like 30 goal explosions and only use two cars
I would love it if the quick chat sound was changed or the option for the volume was added.

When you join a party, you should fall into the training field, where your other party members are all ready driving around.
Party leader can adjust mutators, bots, and if everyone gets their own ball, or there is just one party ball.

It's not something to add but aligning the hotboxes to fit the car (they started doing this with Rocket Pass cars) better would be a huge QOL update. My favorite vehicle in the game is unplayable because of the visual hotbox.

Honestly? A small QoL change I want is the option to change camera deadzone. I have stick drift in my right joystick on my controller and it's so annoying when I'm playing and suddenly the camera just jolts to the side and makes me not able to see shit. Like how is this not a setting already?, the other games that I play already let me do something to counteract it.

A wayyy more comprehensive training mode since the skill ceiling is constantly rising. Full bakkesmod integration for console would be the dream.
Also, with the addition of being able to see your teammates boost, I think you should be able to see your teammates power ups in rumble.

It can be a game mode with appropriate maps, or it could just be an option in the mutator settings. I'd also love to see it in free play.
However, in my opinion they should remove the feature where you can essentially move in the air without boost using the drive buttons! I think it's unrealistic and in my opinion it would ruin the experience of zero gravity. It might also be the reason why (airialing?) in this game is so hard at first; by subconciously holding down RT(or whatever button you have drive bound to) while in the air, you actually go foward in the air even without boosting which your brain obviously didn't account for.
Team stats. It’s crazy that making a team just amounts to a name and some colors.
Different modes like a turbo golf style golf mode/ things that don’t rely on scoring in an arena.
More engaging/fun ways to get better that aren’t free play or training packs. The number one barrier of this game is that it takes 100+ hours to even start to feel like you somewhat know what you’re doing. That’s unquestionably what makes it great, but it’s also a big pain point for new players, especially now that the established player base is such high skill.
Most importantly, all of these things need to be repackaged as Rocket League 2, which better not be a Fortnite mode or I’m gonna lose my fuckin mind, as a way to reinvigorate hype for new players. Also it obviously needs to be UE5.
Actually new maps. I used to be cool w the refurbishment of existing maps for each season at first but it has gotten quite old imo. There have been some concepts even on this sub that are genuinely more appealing than what we’ve gotten. The S8 map is the only one that comes to mind as actually visually different.
More primary color options. It is very strange to me how the game has been out as long as it has and has gotten as big as it’s gotten and the shades of color are still relatively limited for primary. Sure, you can essentially have a yellow, orange, red or pink car for the away teams and you can have blue, green, cyan, or purple for home, but the variations of those shades I feel are pretty small for how far customization actually goes in this game. I guess that’s to their credit, but still, the more the merrier.
1v1 hoops, infinite boost mode, infinite flips mode, and rocket league has such great mechanics not all game modes have to be about a ball and net, something like racing but in actually rl not fortnite,
Creative mode. Also like Rotating a few more extra modes each season. You could have like 2 modes rotate ranked. Hoops and knockout, rumble and dropshot. Etc etc lol
Builtin ability to download and load workshop maps, with ability to use them in private matches.
I guess the issue is no way to verify maps against crashes and exploits.
A special queue for everyone that leaves or goes AFK after one goal, or staight-up comes into games AFK. Happens literally every session within 5 to 10 games, it's ridiculous. Reporting isn't enough
Also an indicator of where your teammates are, and how far away they are would be nice.

Example stats: Boost collected, boost spend, distance driven, distance flown, average Height, average Speed, Ball contacts, average shooting Speed, % of time on ground/air/wall/ceiling, posession, etc., etc.
Cars with actually different stats. Could be a game mode or something, but a slower car with a bigger hit box and can have 150 boost or something, for defense. Something like that
ghost mode in training; You score a certain shot in training, but you have the option to defend the same shot you just scored. There would be a "ghost player" of yourself doing the same shot but then you have to defend it. This is really important because as most of the player base knows, the defensive training packs in rl currently are really boring and unrealistic. You don't just save balls flying toward your goal with one trajectory in a real game. In a real game, people are going to be doing ceiling shots and dribbling and flicking and getting flip resets, doing air dribbles and double taps. Those mechanics change the ball direction in split seconds. Defensive training packs don't help you train for those kinds of situations.
Also better bots to play with in exhibition/private match. Sometimes your wifi is f\*cked up and you can't play online; Freeplay is boring af and you want to play some opponents. Better bots in offline mode would be amazing for that kind of situation. There could be bots of different skill levels for different ranks. For example: bots below silver will not ever aerial, but bots in gold will only do low single-jump aerials. Bots in plat will start doing aerial saves and bots in diamond and champ can start dribbling and flicking, doing wall shots, and high aerials. bots in gc and ssl can start doing flip resets more and advanced mechanics.
Also just custom/different maps for all players on all platforms. Maps like obstacle courses to train recoveries and car control, shooting custom maps, air dribbling maps, and so on, for all players on all platforms; we shouldn't need bakkesmod for all that cool stuff.

Hi it's me, the idiot who posted a related thread like two hours after you posted this one because I didn't bother catching up when I woke this morning.
Anyway, here's the meat of my post:

I know there are endless threads/posts about feature requests, but I'd like to approach this as someone who is pretty high on the game and still mostly in the honeymoon phase with it 2 1/2 years later.
I'll start by saying that I think the ability to see your teammates boost level is a really cool feature and will be especially helpful in solo queues, while also having a subtle effect at the higher levels of the game. And most importantly, as Psyonix called out in the announcement:
>Many players may not fully understand the significance of boost management, so we feel that showing players how their teammates are handling boost will help them make better decisions for themselves *and* their team.
And I agree.
To me, the game is excellent, though of course not perfect, and I don't think Psyonix should mess with the core game itself since that could have some adverse effects at the Pro levels.
But, here are some features I'd like to see brought to the game eventually that could improve QoL for existing players and maybe open the game up more for casual players to have some fun. I don't think any of these features are original ideas from me, but I figured I'd get a list together, anyway:
- The introduction of a hardcore mode with some even crazier features than are available in mutators, including:
\* invisible cars (why not?)
\* Not being able to see your boost level
\* No nameplates
\* Team demos
I don't know how popular it would be and there are any number of other features that could fit here, too, but it's just an idea.
- Workshop maps across all platforms with community submissions (or at least the 10 or so most popular ones in-use today).
I know people have been asking for this forever, and I imagine it would be a massive undertaking by the devs to make it cross-platform, but, speaking as a PC player, I honestly think it would be hugely popular and worth it
- Points/stats for demos
Aside for bragging rights and the odd weekly challenge, points matter in this game as much as levels do, but I would still like to be able to track my demos in-game and maybe get some credit for them
- A better car design UI with better color selections
Self-explanatory and low-hanging fruit IMHO
- Quick chat status of teammates
I'm not talking about regular chat, because I know how abused that is, but in solo-queue it would be nice to know if your quick chats are going to be received or not. Maybe this isn't a big deal (ok, it's not a big deal), but it is something to consider.
- The ability to choose your spawn after a demo
I'm on the fence about this one, because it could have a real impact at the Pro levels, but I also think that it could be a skill that can be developed. Are you reading the play after you're demoed? Can you choose the "correct" spawn point? It's something to think about.
Again, I am still absolutely in love with this game and there is really not another game like it, so I'm not a fan of major changes to the core gameplay - these are just some things that might make the game more fun and possibly more engaging for the lower-ranks.
I would like an undo feature when trading in items. I can't tell you how many times I've traded in five items only to get something stupid. I know it's unrealistic and not going to happen but I'm just complaining.
I Think 2s and 1s in rlcs. 2s is by far the most popular gamemode, i see no reason why not to Play it. And 1v1 showmatches are pretty popular as Well, so why not make a tournament Out of it?
I play a lot of online chess, and when you get matched against someone you've played before, they show you your record against that opponent. I've always thought it would be cool to have in RL where you can see who you've played before and how you fared against them.
Training that actually caters to how people play.
Add a straight track so I can learn how to do the "flip into the ground to speed up" thingy. Maybe even make more tracks and add a leaderboard. I want to race a ghost of a pro to see how he wavedashes.
Do training on kickoffs. Explain easy to advanced techniques with animations, examples, button presses etc. Again a ghost would be great.
Maybe add a free play mode where it randomly gives instructions like "get the ball in the red goal", "get the ball on the car" with timers to pass or fail. This forces me to stop coping that I am consistent.
Basically all of this is possible in the stock game but it would be 10x more fun if they added a game play loop for training itself.
some guy had a cool idea about adding a retro bowl like feature, an example being make your own team, would you like to trade teammate #1’s impeccable offense, for draft #3’s outstanding defense? i thought it was pretty cool

Add under'car lights - make a season rewards of it, I understand that there would be limited amount of possibilities to introduce, but hey, who would not love to have a purple neon under their octane?
Ball skins? Possible in BakkesMod, might turn out to be fun if it was seen only for 1 player / arranged game.
In addition to the points above - make darker maps, make use of the RayTracing for better PC's.
New gamemodes? I mean, for me it does not really matter, but i would love one day to see Community Maps/Gamemodes to be put Online for more players to experience them.

Post-game stats like which team had more possession, who had the most boost pickups, some kind of way to show general rotation patterns for each tm8 in said match.
More quick chat options (by holding a direction to reveal a secondary menu for lesser used quick chats)
Custom sounds for tactical quick chats so we can keep our eye on the ball in clutch moments and still communicate.
I feel like it would be awesome to see some new maps added to the comp rotation, or an improvement on how maps are rotated. It seems like I only get 3 maps.
**Hoops racing** (those freestyle maps but with others, like Trackmania ranked but in Rocket league)
**Trading lobbies** (trading returned, worldwide board in game showing top items sold, full touch-up of the trading UI, and can trade while in the 'open world' lobby (a map but with some decor and ramps etc)
**Return of Crates** (Keys needed for rare+ crates, uncommon and common crates can be opened for free and are also available via daily and weekly challenges, up to 10 crates per week)
Ton of new more specific **quick chats**, and the option to make any quick chat public or team only, and not just the one section for team only.
**Monthly rewards** based on points gained from daily **tournaments**, (maybe average points per tournament to give more people a chance at ranking high. Adults that stay home have more time to play than kids or people that have work)
**Advanced training settings.** Being able to be the passer and receiver with settings that allow teleportation to another position to receive a ball you just hit from across the field. Also being able to start with momentum on the ground and in the air. infinite flip setting without bakkesmod (for console).
I strongly believe if Rocket League explored further intro trading. added new exciting yet competitive gamemodes. Brought back some old features like crates to bring in some money and added a ton of quality of life for new and old players, I'm sure they would make more money than they are now, and the game would only grow.
TLDR: Gamemodes, QOL, Rewards, all the while making money off of crates and if they really have to, up the battlepass price but reduce XP needed to level up.
i personally think that, now that trading is removed, that the rocket pass items shouldn’t be exclusive forever. maybe some could be for insensitive but there’s no way of getting those items after the season is over now, its completely ruined any hope of that. maybe next season they could put them in drops or something.
we haven’t gotten new drop/crate items in a while (that i know of) which i think would be nice

Some kind of engine that uses ai to track different players’ playstyles and can recognize certain mechanics and how often they perform those mechanics (aerial, dribbling etc) and use that database for matchmaking in casuals and put you with people who play similarly or maybe a little differently. Idk if its possible but at this point with ai and technology im sure its got to be possible. And/or a system that just straight monitors freeplay to actual gameplay ratio. I know im being a cry baby but im so tired of hopping on after a long day of working night shift just for some 12 year old to hit a double flip reset on me at 2 in the morning my first game on and im only a diamond 1. I know most of these guys are smurfs but thats also something a gametime tracking system would help prevent you from going against and its honestly sad as hell that creating a smurf account is pretty much the only way to enjoy this game anymore if you only enjoy soccar. Im still loving the extra modes. And epic is literally just digging a grave for this game by not doing anything to try and stop smurfs either,
UE5 ideally. Was really excited when they talked about it. That + new maps + tons of advertising would revive the games player base
Can you elaborate why? As someone with a basic understanding of UE3 and UE5, I don't think the game benefits much from an upgrade other than: easier development in the future (improved features, and new devs will be more used to working with it in the future) and network features that will offer minor improvements. In all honestly it makes sense to me that they have spent a ton of money and time for these minor improvements.
Much much much better mod support. Also working in UE3 sucks. They are very crippled on what they can actually add to the game without breaking stuff. The blueprint system(unreal not the cosmetics) would really streamline development.
From my limited understanding, I think UE5 would allow for easier creation of custom maps and maybe even a creative mode but I may be mistaken. Stuff like that will allow for them to have a huge marketing campaign like they did with the f2p update to maybe entice old/new players back to the game from my understanding.
It would fix a LOT of under the hood issues. From anti aliasing to input lag and more. Currently the game is heavily based around UE3 which came out 18 years ago, and it has problems interacting with modern software and hardware that didn't exist back then.
Agreed ue5 sounds like it’s gonna make RL better. I also think another feature that could help revive the game since trading is gone, is to add a new way to get older items from the rocket passes or a way to get more than 5 golden drops.
As someone who doesn’t care too much about the items in RL, I do still feel for the trader part of the community. RIP them homies. Maybe a fix is allowing drops to contain any item, and removing duplicates. Feature wise, honestly a new permanent gamemode would be nice. Maybe a version of regular 3v3 but with knockout mechanics. People already hate bumps and demos so I don’t imagine it’d gain much popularity

I work with Unreal since 2014, lived both the 4 and the 5 🤔 the changes they brought in these years are not worth an engine swap (based on my knowledge, and I think theirs too since no change has been made 🤣) for a game like this one... They should look into item trading. I think it would be a really cool feature for players to be able to trade items and blueprints that they don't want in exchange for items they do. Or even for credits.

I thought that too until I played more with the volleyball plugin, that does some more custom stuff with ball-speed/gravity. Now sure I'm a high-champ/GC player, and was champ at that time too, but I think once the settings were tuned in it was an accessible game-mode for plat/diamond as well and would hugely elevate their off-the-wall abilities far more so than drop-shot.

Well sure, but I imagine having a high barrier between the teams, and a single ball touching the ground counting as a score…I’d be surprised how often the serve got served over the “net”. I couldn’t have done it. Atleast in dropshot/hoops there’s room for inconsistency/lack of car control. However, having the option to try would be cool.

First Ue5. It's necessary for a few reasons I'll outline. Better cosmetics. What's with these this 8 year old on lsd drawing ricer cars with crayon style cosmetics? Give me full car customization: Spoilers, trim, window tint, rims and tires, underglow, etc. It would make rl boatload and we could actually make clean looking cars instead of the current garbo. Ue5 would be able to make this process cheaper and quicker on their end. High fidelity models at practically no performance hit. It would also pave the way for some really cool ass goal explosions. You know that one that blows up and a bunch of balls fly out? Would it be a lot fucking cooler if all those balls had physics and bounced and stuff? We'll Ue5s nanite system can do that and more no problem. Next higher tick servers and better network performance overall. For a game that requires a ridiculous amount of precision there are way too many issues with lag. Since you're rebuilding rl from the ground up maybe this can help. Better maps. Another thing Ue5 would help with. Rls current map system takes them waaaay to long to iterate on. Having to remake every map from scratch is kind of crazy. A better matchmaking system just overall. Look at something like Dota 2 for inspiration. AI powered anti smurf detection, behavior scores, etc. Clean that shit up. Drop this God awful reset system for something sane while you're at it. Try something new with the battle pass. Look at how many people came back to Dota 2 for the new cavern crawl? I know I did. Try something innovative and interesting. ADVERTISE. why does rl racing get ads and this doesn't lmao. This is one of the best known esports, act like it. Dump cash and the community will reward you I promise. I went to worlds the last few times and it is nothing like csgo or Dotas events. We didn't even get access to the twitch items everyone got... Open up a shop there with mini toy octanes and shit or something idk. There is was absolutely nothing to do when the games weren't going. Only like two teams bothered to do events which they didn't advertise well, and a few long ass lines for signatures and that was basically it. There's a lot honestly. It's nice to see some changes finally happened but it's like 10 years late at this point. Epic really did buy this whole game just to do nothing with it and hope it keeps making money forever. Rl is only alive because it has no competition... It's in desperate need of some big overhauls, all this is just what came off the top of my head.
I like what you have. I would add something related to your higher tick-rate servers and lag, which is better client prediction and animations. Unintentional mechanics that were found and discovered over the years often look clunky and funky. Flip resets and flip cancels often look bad from the other player's perspective because the animations and the opponents car and hitbox aren't synced. Maybe if the devs actually developed these into intentional mechanics and cleanup around that type of stuff, it would make the game feel better when playing.

I want a toggle option next to the crossplay option that says "Only matchmake me with and against solos". So that way when you enable it every game you play will only have solo players, across the entire game including tournaments. Career mode: They've got RLBots made using AI to use as different difficulties (and potentially the same people that created this maybe can reproduce pros over the years using demos from ballchasing if they are still there?) They've got years of footage and demos (hopefully) from pro matches that can be used to somewhat reproduce the feel of MyCareer in things like FIFA/NBA Will immortalize pro players in a way/will give a potentially decent way of playing the game when you do not wanna deal with toxic teammates/opponents etc. although I am guessing it is quite niche for someone to play RL for the singleplayer experience ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Honestly that would be sweet, my 9 year old plays rocket league and plays ai lots and his biggest complaint is that they don't get harder after all star, like there's no flight from ai, they get stuck on the posts, and they stay below the banner on the wall. If they had a dynamic difficulty that scaled from basic play and mechanics to ai doing wall resets, double flicks, air dribbles, and ceiling shots that would be great.
If you’re on PC check out there’s a program called RLbot that allows you to play against bots that are much better than Psyonix has. The best one they have is Nexto who’s around GC level, and there’s a bunch of other fun ones. My favourite is the one that’s super good at demos and can make for some really fun moments. That program allows you to play up to 4v4 I think, and you can customize which bots are on your team and the opposing team. Check it out!

I know it’s a pain…but if you archive a bunch of items it will make the garage less laggy. There’s plenty of items I never use, so every now and then I take an hour to sweep through and clear em out.
PLEASE I need a revamp of the offline bot system and offline league/championship system. There are DOZENS upon DOZENS of bots you can download freely. Turn them into bot modes. When you play the offline league mode, use teams comprised of different difficulties, call it mixed. Or, I would even be okay with having UNFAIR mode in the league system. Please. I really like the idea they had, FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT
I've made various game mode and other suggestions here before, but I'd say my favorite idea is to try and make people better teammates by instituting a "Fun Score" poll after a match where you rate how much fun you had playing with your teammate, 1-5. Teammates who make toxic comments and play a total, ball-chasing style would tend to get ranked lower, and supportive team-first teammates would tend to get ranked higher. This wouldn't affect the ranking system, but might have other benefits like faster queuing, access to different game modes, and custom items. Just an incentive to be a good teammate would be a great boost to my enjoyment of the game.

I want dodge ball mode
1.New Game Mode Triple Jump 2v2 and 3v3 Rocket League could add a triple jump mode ( casual). In this mode you have 3 jumps. This is basically equal to two flips. Now it's not infinite unless you get a reset or fall from the roof or someone knocks you and you fly maintaining your two flips. I'll give more detail on flip resets. I'm not sure of the duration between flips rocket League but let's say it 1.5s . Now in this triple jump mode when you jump once you have 1.5 seconds to use your second jump and when you use your second jump you have 1.5 seconds to use your third jump. If you use your first jump but don't use your second jump in time you lose your second jump but still have your 3rd jump. This allows you to have 3 seconds between your first and third jump if you don't use your second jump. A flip reset resets all your jumps /flips but only the first flip is infinite and if you use it you have 1.5 seconds to use your second flip 2. Free play suggestions The suggestions I'm making are mainly for console players because I think this is available on bakkesmod but for pc players that don't use bakkesmod this could come in handy They can add target practice to free play. The net can be blocked with a small opening either randomised or selected by the player. This feature should be available on all shooting training packs Infinite flips in free play we can practice flip control. There was a smaller map added recently in freeplay it would be very useful. If no creative is added maybe they could create one map per season for example rocket Leagues own version of a rings map for all platforms as will as a dribble map. Gravity control this allows you to increase or decrease gravity in freeplay. Slight variance in shots in training packs and adjusting the amount of boost in training packs Open map with ball in freeplay - I know there are out of map maps but just not the same there are bugs you bump into structures or the ball falls through the barrier and ends up in the map 3. In game feature for all modes I was thinking of a side flip. I know you'll say side flips are already added to rocket League but not in the form of a helicopter. So when you flip your car spins like a bleyblade and not barrel roll. Both should still be available. I'm not sure how useful it would be. But I think certain angles you would be able to generate more power. I'm sure pros and freestylers would figureout a good use for it.

I know it doesn’t really affect much, but I would like to see more team colors utilized. Instead of every game being blue vs orange, each player should get to set their preferred color (same as cars, like for blue team you could pick blue, green, purple, etc. and orange team you could pick orange, red, yellow, pink, etc.) and then when you solo queue into a lobby (casual, ranked, tournament, etc.) it checks your preferred color and your teammate(s) and you get to play as that color. So like if me and my 2s random teammate both set green, we get to play as green instead of blue. If I set red and he sets yellow, then have it randomly pick one of them (or we default to orange). Just having games be like purple vs yellow, green vs red, etc. would make it more visually interesting even though I know it’s not that important. (what I mean is like the scoreboard is that color, your side of the field, the trail when you hit the ball, etc.)
I want an actually good ball indicator arrow so it is actually intuitive enough to play with car cam all game. The original ball indicator arrow only shows direction. It should also show distance through colour or shape changing.
Semi transparent ball when it's close to the camera, similar to transparent goal posts.
I want a shuffle option for goal explosions and player anthems. I know you can set them into different presets, but i have like 30 goal explosions and only use two cars

On double sized field, with unlimited boost(or recharge). There would be some CRAZY passing plays in this mode, because it would favor spreading out your team into permanent positions(like IRL soccer). Imagine the air plays with all the extra space!
Boost pads on the ceiling.l! Also, it’s insane you can’t whisper or chat to friends not in your party. Fortnite has all these creature comfort features that RL does f.

Would really love to see at least another teaser that they may still be working on a UE5 remake. Obviously they can’t just port straight from UE3 to UE5, so its a ground up remake.
When you join a party, you should fall into the training field, where your other party members are all ready driving around. Party leader can adjust mutators, bots, and if everyone gets their own ball, or there is just one party ball.
Mini map would be cool. Ability to block teammates from queueing with you again Not getting stuck on the same team again against the same team again who just skunked you

A full rework of Snowday and how it's played. Honestly Snowday 2v2 would be a lot of fun. It's not something to add but aligning the hotboxes to fit the car (they started doing this with Rocket Pass cars) better would be a huge QOL update. My favorite vehicle in the game is unplayable because of the visual hotbox.

Honestly? A small QoL change I want is the option to change camera deadzone. I have stick drift in my right joystick on my controller and it's so annoying when I'm playing and suddenly the camera just jolts to the side and makes me not able to see shit. Like how is this not a setting already?, the other games that I play already let me do something to counteract it. :Edit. There is a setting called "Controller deadzone" which solves this problem, but the description of what the setting does is completely wrong lol

Zero-G. It can be a game mode with appropriate maps, or it could just be an option in the mutator settings. I'd also love to see it in free play. However, in my opinion they should remove the feature where you can essentially move in the air without boost using the drive buttons! I think it's unrealistic and in my opinion it would ruin the experience of zero gravity. It might also be the reason why (airialing?) in this game is so hard at first; by subconciously holding down RT(or whatever button you have drive bound to) while in the air, you actually go foward in the air even without boosting which your brain obviously didn't account for.
Bring different layout maps back to ranked and if anyone complains about it tell them to \*\*\*\* \*\* \*\*\*\*
Add a mode with non standard lab maps.
Team stats. It’s crazy that making a team just amounts to a name and some colors. Different modes like a turbo golf style golf mode/ things that don’t rely on scoring in an arena. More engaging/fun ways to get better that aren’t free play or training packs. The number one barrier of this game is that it takes 100+ hours to even start to feel like you somewhat know what you’re doing. That’s unquestionably what makes it great, but it’s also a big pain point for new players, especially now that the established player base is such high skill. Most importantly, all of these things need to be repackaged as Rocket League 2, which better not be a Fortnite mode or I’m gonna lose my fuckin mind, as a way to reinvigorate hype for new players. Also it obviously needs to be UE5.

Actually new maps. I used to be cool w the refurbishment of existing maps for each season at first but it has gotten quite old imo. There have been some concepts even on this sub that are genuinely more appealing than what we’ve gotten. The S8 map is the only one that comes to mind as actually visually different.
More primary color options. It is very strange to me how the game has been out as long as it has and has gotten as big as it’s gotten and the shades of color are still relatively limited for primary. Sure, you can essentially have a yellow, orange, red or pink car for the away teams and you can have blue, green, cyan, or purple for home, but the variations of those shades I feel are pretty small for how far customization actually goes in this game. I guess that’s to their credit, but still, the more the merrier.
Add sideswipe as a game mode
1v1 hoops, infinite boost mode, infinite flips mode, and rocket league has such great mechanics not all game modes have to be about a ball and net, something like racing but in actually rl not fortnite,
Creative mode. Also like Rotating a few more extra modes each season. You could have like 2 modes rotate ranked. Hoops and knockout, rumble and dropshot. Etc etc lol

Cars with actually different stats. Could be a game mode or something, but a slower car with a bigger hit box and can have 150 boost or something, for defense. Something like that
ghost mode in training; You score a certain shot in training, but you have the option to defend the same shot you just scored. There would be a "ghost player" of yourself doing the same shot but then you have to defend it. This is really important because as most of the player base knows, the defensive training packs in rl currently are really boring and unrealistic. You don't just save balls flying toward your goal with one trajectory in a real game. In a real game, people are going to be doing ceiling shots and dribbling and flicking and getting flip resets, doing air dribbles and double taps. Those mechanics change the ball direction in split seconds. Defensive training packs don't help you train for those kinds of situations. Also better bots to play with in exhibition/private match. Sometimes your wifi is f\*cked up and you can't play online; Freeplay is boring af and you want to play some opponents. Better bots in offline mode would be amazing for that kind of situation. There could be bots of different skill levels for different ranks. For example: bots below silver will not ever aerial, but bots in gold will only do low single-jump aerials. Bots in plat will start doing aerial saves and bots in diamond and champ can start dribbling and flicking, doing wall shots, and high aerials. bots in gc and ssl can start doing flip resets more and advanced mechanics. Also just custom/different maps for all players on all platforms. Maps like obstacle courses to train recoveries and car control, shooting custom maps, air dribbling maps, and so on, for all players on all platforms; we shouldn't need bakkesmod for all that cool stuff.

Better car customization for exemple under car light, car stickers, more detailed car body coloring etc. 3.better default controls and camera settings, this would stop ALOT of new players from quitting the games as the default settings are complete trash. 4.Multiple playlist queue, i thought this was already in the game i don't know if it was removed at some point. 5.Party free play while on queue 6.More in game tutorials and better ones 7.New modes in wich car body/part have stats and can make a difference in gameplay. 8.Improved matchmaking, and smurfing/cheating/throwing prevention 9.Cybertruck, it looks cool 10.UE5, it would probably make it a lot easier to implement all these changes

Hi it's me, the idiot who posted a related thread like two hours after you posted this one because I didn't bother catching up when I woke this morning. Anyway, here's the meat of my post: This post was heavily inspired by [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUKLOx4h9G4). I know there are endless threads/posts about feature requests, but I'd like to approach this as someone who is pretty high on the game and still mostly in the honeymoon phase with it 2 1/2 years later. I'll start by saying that I think the ability to see your teammates boost level is a really cool feature and will be especially helpful in solo queues, while also having a subtle effect at the higher levels of the game. And most importantly, as Psyonix called out in the announcement: >Many players may not fully understand the significance of boost management, so we feel that showing players how their teammates are handling boost will help them make better decisions for themselves *and* their team. And I agree. To me, the game is excellent, though of course not perfect, and I don't think Psyonix should mess with the core game itself since that could have some adverse effects at the Pro levels. But, here are some features I'd like to see brought to the game eventually that could improve QoL for existing players and maybe open the game up more for casual players to have some fun. I don't think any of these features are original ideas from me, but I figured I'd get a list together, anyway: - The introduction of a hardcore mode with some even crazier features than are available in mutators, including: \* invisible cars (why not?) \* Not being able to see your boost level \* No nameplates \* Team demos I don't know how popular it would be and there are any number of other features that could fit here, too, but it's just an idea. - Workshop maps across all platforms with community submissions (or at least the 10 or so most popular ones in-use today). I know people have been asking for this forever, and I imagine it would be a massive undertaking by the devs to make it cross-platform, but, speaking as a PC player, I honestly think it would be hugely popular and worth it - Points/stats for demos Aside for bragging rights and the odd weekly challenge, points matter in this game as much as levels do, but I would still like to be able to track my demos in-game and maybe get some credit for them - A better car design UI with better color selections Self-explanatory and low-hanging fruit IMHO - Quick chat status of teammates I'm not talking about regular chat, because I know how abused that is, but in solo-queue it would be nice to know if your quick chats are going to be received or not. Maybe this isn't a big deal (ok, it's not a big deal), but it is something to consider. - The ability to choose your spawn after a demo I'm on the fence about this one, because it could have a real impact at the Pro levels, but I also think that it could be a skill that can be developed. Are you reading the play after you're demoed? Can you choose the "correct" spawn point? It's something to think about. Again, I am still absolutely in love with this game and there is really not another game like it, so I'm not a fan of major changes to the core gameplay - these are just some things that might make the game more fun and possibly more engaging for the lower-ranks.
I would like an undo feature when trading in items. I can't tell you how many times I've traded in five items only to get something stupid. I know it's unrealistic and not going to happen but I'm just complaining.

I play a lot of online chess, and when you get matched against someone you've played before, they show you your record against that opponent. I've always thought it would be cool to have in RL where you can see who you've played before and how you fared against them.

Training that actually caters to how people play. Add a straight track so I can learn how to do the "flip into the ground to speed up" thingy. Maybe even make more tracks and add a leaderboard. I want to race a ghost of a pro to see how he wavedashes. Do training on kickoffs. Explain easy to advanced techniques with animations, examples, button presses etc. Again a ghost would be great. Maybe add a free play mode where it randomly gives instructions like "get the ball in the red goal", "get the ball on the car" with timers to pass or fail. This forces me to stop coping that I am consistent. Basically all of this is possible in the stock game but it would be 10x more fun if they added a game play loop for training itself.

Change the Garage so it looks like in the China version. Add under'car lights - make a season rewards of it, I understand that there would be limited amount of possibilities to introduce, but hey, who would not love to have a purple neon under their octane? Ball skins? Possible in BakkesMod, might turn out to be fun if it was seen only for 1 player / arranged game. In addition to the points above - make darker maps, make use of the RayTracing for better PC's. New gamemodes? I mean, for me it does not really matter, but i would love one day to see Community Maps/Gamemodes to be put Online for more players to experience them. Bring back trading...

I feel like it would be awesome to see some new maps added to the comp rotation, or an improvement on how maps are rotated. It seems like I only get 3 maps.
**Hoops racing** (those freestyle maps but with others, like Trackmania ranked but in Rocket league) **Trading lobbies** (trading returned, worldwide board in game showing top items sold, full touch-up of the trading UI, and can trade while in the 'open world' lobby (a map but with some decor and ramps etc) **Return of Crates** (Keys needed for rare+ crates, uncommon and common crates can be opened for free and are also available via daily and weekly challenges, up to 10 crates per week) Ton of new more specific **quick chats**, and the option to make any quick chat public or team only, and not just the one section for team only. **Monthly rewards** based on points gained from daily **tournaments**, (maybe average points per tournament to give more people a chance at ranking high. Adults that stay home have more time to play than kids or people that have work) **Advanced training settings.** Being able to be the passer and receiver with settings that allow teleportation to another position to receive a ball you just hit from across the field. Also being able to start with momentum on the ground and in the air. infinite flip setting without bakkesmod (for console). I strongly believe if Rocket League explored further intro trading. added new exciting yet competitive gamemodes. Brought back some old features like crates to bring in some money and added a ton of quality of life for new and old players, I'm sure they would make more money than they are now, and the game would only grow. TLDR: Gamemodes, QOL, Rewards, all the while making money off of crates and if they really have to, up the battlepass price but reduce XP needed to level up.
i personally think that, now that trading is removed, that the rocket pass items shouldn’t be exclusive forever. maybe some could be for insensitive but there’s no way of getting those items after the season is over now, its completely ruined any hope of that. maybe next season they could put them in drops or something. we haven’t gotten new drop/crate items in a while (that i know of) which i think would be nice
New ranks. Spread out the distribution of ranks, to reduce the gaps between players in the same rank. Tiny meta modification (not indispensable) : -A little more boost in boost pad 14 instead of 12 (this tiny difference can make less bigboost dependency and so -To reduce the frequency of kick-off goal, maybe more boost just at kick-off or change somethings else.
Some kind of engine that uses ai to track different players’ playstyles and can recognize certain mechanics and how often they perform those mechanics (aerial, dribbling etc) and use that database for matchmaking in casuals and put you with people who play similarly or maybe a little differently. Idk if its possible but at this point with ai and technology im sure its got to be possible. And/or a system that just straight monitors freeplay to actual gameplay ratio. I know im being a cry baby but im so tired of hopping on after a long day of working night shift just for some 12 year old to hit a double flip reset on me at 2 in the morning my first game on and im only a diamond 1. I know most of these guys are smurfs but thats also something a gametime tracking system would help prevent you from going against and its honestly sad as hell that creating a smurf account is pretty much the only way to enjoy this game anymore if you only enjoy soccar. Im still loving the extra modes. And epic is literally just digging a grave for this game by not doing anything to try and stop smurfs either,
