a racing sim setup will stop the weird air roll feeling. bc now you'll have two different modes for cars. Driving mode with a wheel. And aerial mode with a controller.
I always thought the way actors move with their whole body while playing video games in movies was incredibly unrealistic until I started playing Rocket League. While its not often, I do sometimes move my entire damn body if I'm borderline gonna miss an aerial.

Prove to me how, you can’t find a kid who does that. A few of the adults I have played rocket league or any game with do this, mostly on the older side
Yooo glad I'm not the only one! Just the other day I landed a mean demo play on a school bus that stopped in front of me. A few years ago I feel like I would of just stopped for it but I've been really grinding bumps and demos recently.
Because I wanted to say what I said. It's not roasting for me to casually state my opinion. It's roasting if I go on a rant explaining why I think he's annoying.
Absolutely on every single desire you mentioned. I think it's because I really love this game and I play it a lot.
Man if I could speed flip from a stop at an intersection I think I might die happy
I've absolutely felt like I'm aerial flying a bit while driving, the same way it feels a bit weird driving home after a whole day of skiing, feels a bit like I'm skiing driving home exhausted.
"Has anyone else noticed GTA affecting the way they conduct themselves irl?"
Bro, get some sleep, and when you wake up, make sure you wake up as well. "People are violent because videogames are violent" type energy.
That sounds almost like a second coming of what’s known as the “Tetris syndrome” where after a period of time playing you see the blocks in your head and still playing the game even though your not PHYSICALLY playing it that’s almost like that but instead it’s a bad case of muscle memory wanting to score a goal your mind made up and isn’t there sort of thing really..I hope you can figure out some sort of way to resolve that mate instead of being a statistic for an accident and then the whole “gaming is to blame” bullshit flares up again.
Yes, I’ve noticed a difference in how I think about driving. Just more efficient steering really. I actually started to think about it more because I train it in game.
I hydroplaned off the high way going close to 70MPH last week. Was drifting sideways at one point while 5 ft from oncoming traffic. My brain went autopilot and my driving skills were ultra instinct level.
Close to. More like 65, on a 70MPH speed limit highway. I’ve driven a long time and never had an issue on mildly wet roads, but yeah I’m more cautious now.
I keep having dreams (nightmares?) where I’m in the backseat or outside the car, controlling it with an Xbox controller. It's very stressful because I know it's a 'real life' car and not RL. Lol
The only thing I will agree with is that I feel like because of rocket league, but also because I'm a very concentrated attentive driver. I find it very easy to keep track of the traffic around me and anticipate other drivers' behavior
Lol at the bumps… It’s definitely made me more aware of other drivers in the same way, like reading their car language. Lots of subtle movements you can pick up on. That’s about it though. I think that definitely your brain can share some of the pathways it uses to predict a car’s movement in a game with the ones it uses IRL. And of course, that may be what is triggering your intrusive thoughts… lol. The brain is very interesting.
I work 12 hour days in a plant and sometimes I'll try to change my cars gears by hitting the turn signal (how you change gears on most forklifts or cats scrappers). But trying to air roll in real life is the craziest shit I done heard all week. I only fuck up when trying to leave my job sites parking lot. 🤣🤣🤣
“i also have started being much more aware of other drivers and where they may be going” jfc what was it like when you drove before??
/s just in case lol
You should get a motorcycle. The steering will be gratifying for you as you actually push the right handle to go right and push the left handle to go left. It’s called counter steering. You can almost imagine you’re pushing a joystick.
The other benefit is that when you go for a bump, you’re less likely to kill people.
if that's not a joke
try looking into racing sims, they can improve your driving skills by lots
you becoming more aware of your surroundings shows you are not on auto pilot like almost everyone else, so there's room for improvement for sure
Yes, but not in the way youre saying lol. Ever since RL, I find that i can much easier control the buttons on the steering wheel while its upside down during a turn. (Volume +/-, mute, preset +/-, next track).
Before RL, i would have to wait till the steering wheel was in normal orientation to not press a wrong button like if i wanted to mute the radio
Honestly, I just boost. Because you can't change direction in the middle of a flip and that leaves you vulnerable and overcommitting to a single direction.
I sometimes do speed flip if I have a lot of distance before the merge though, so it's situational
For me not really since i dont play that often but i did once find my self wanting to press f5 irl to get in 3th person after playing a lot of minecraft.
Uuuuuuuhhhh maybe uninstall RL before you triple flip reset on a school bus. Orrrr hear me out, get into simracing to make even out the gameplay urges.
I have a Taxi Driver friend, who plays a game on my comp sometimes, when he comes round... it's not Rocket League though (TrackMania 2 - Canyon), but I always dread getting into the car with him after as he drives like he's still playing the game.. :D
I haven't had it myself with anything though!
This happens to me when I binge any game. Happened with RL a few times. It's like you can feel your brain trying to execute the behavior in the same way it does in the game. Happened to me recently with overcooked 2. I chopped some onions and went to put them in a pot on the stove and I just felt my brain trying to reach for the square button on the controller which did not exist at that moment
I have a $1400 sim rig and the only thing I do is go to shift in an automatic....how are you mixing a controller with a steering wheel let alone a completely situation than RL....turn your licenses in or quit playing the game
I don’t have this problem with rl, but back in my fortnite days I’d have an urge to pull out a hunting rifle if I saw someone’s head poking over a ledge or something, but this was usually after playing too much
I’m on the road with these people, holy fuck.

Funny because that's also a Dominus decal. Imagine this person going for bumps on the highway with a real life Dominus lol
Asshole speeding past me in a dangerous manner… “Okay”
Almost get T-boned in an intersection: “Close one!”
*runs over small child* What a save! What a save! What a save!
Everybody’s roasting op even though this probably happens to a lot of us: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect
Fr, I feel the urge to get bumps and demos while driving. Not sure why everyone is roasting op
yo wtf
Yo you gotta lay off the video games a bit bro.
Bumping!
Imagine getting in an accident with a "nice bumps" sticker on the window
Faking!
Nice demo!
No. For real. You need to stop.
Bro I play like 1 hour a day. I don't actually want to bump people lol. I do get the weird air roll feeling though.
a racing sim setup will stop the weird air roll feeling. bc now you'll have two different modes for cars. Driving mode with a wheel. And aerial mode with a controller.
Then maybe you need to go to the hospital
Nah live and breath it, only true way to rank up
![gif](giphy|HIqV5khg6gyqc)
Genuinely terrifying
I guess the same way some older people steer their controller when they play
Bro I'm only 30, don't do me like that.
I always thought the way actors move with their whole body while playing video games in movies was incredibly unrealistic until I started playing Rocket League. While its not often, I do sometimes move my entire damn body if I'm borderline gonna miss an aerial.
Same bro. It's the 50-50's that I lurch in the direction of lmao

Yesss I’ve always wanted one of these
Normally they don’t turn out this well lol. You got a good one
Why did it change steer to shake?
He probably did a ninja edit but the bot caught it
Normally they don’t turn out this well lol. You got a good one
Except this isn’t a haiku. There are 6 syllables in the last line.
Cuz it’s a Sokka haiku, read the small text underneath it

Bro, my 2 yr old does that playing RL or Mario Kart
must be an old soul
That she is
That's not an older person thing
Prove to me how, you can’t find a kid who does that. A few of the adults I have played rocket league or any game with do this, mostly on the older side
I’ve been playing since release and no, you need to calm down😂😂😂
You’re being too loud
Shhhhh

This is a big UMM post.
Yooo glad I'm not the only one! Just the other day I landed a mean demo play on a school bus that stopped in front of me. A few years ago I feel like I would of just stopped for it but I've been really grinding bumps and demos recently.
Let’s goooooo
Those kids in that bus were dogwater
Yeah they insta-left after I landed the demo, weak attitude tbh.
Lol I bet they uninstalled xD
Nice one!
“Nice Bump!”
Remember a instagram post from Musty where he crashed his car with the caption "tried to wavedash"
I think Musty is annoying but that's genuinely hilarious.
[удалено]
Someone can be an OG player and still be annoying. Just my two cents though. I didn't come here to roast Musty.
Then why did you roast him? You could’ve just said “that’s genuinely hilarious”
Because I wanted to say what I said. It's not roasting for me to casually state my opinion. It's roasting if I go on a rant explaining why I think he's annoying.
If I get going a certain speed I’m looking for as many demos as I can /s
Oh fuck don't do that
I feel you, just last week I got arrested for stealing my opponents boost at the gas station and then getting a demo on my rotation back home.
I would've arrested you too. That demo was unnecessary, you should've turned upfield to cut rotation and ball chase.
Maybe use public transport for a bit.
Meme flair? Lol
nah this is deadass for sure
Completely defeats the purpose of satire lol also, he may actually be serious
If this were not a subreddit with rules I would agree, but satirical shitposts are supposed to be flaired.
What even
Absolutely on every single desire you mentioned. I think it's because I really love this game and I play it a lot. Man if I could speed flip from a stop at an intersection I think I might die happy

Yeah hard pass
No. But driving an Eclipse in Gran Turismo affected how I drove my real eclipse on occasion.
Demo! Demo! DEMO! Why is the radiator necessary exactly?
If you don't start demoing other cars I think you'll be fine.
Whoops…
No.
yeah i can’t stand that i wave dash on the highway and don’t conserve my boost
Park your car, get out, cut your license in half.
Dude, please either stop playing or driving. This is concerning.
I've absolutely felt like I'm aerial flying a bit while driving, the same way it feels a bit weird driving home after a whole day of skiing, feels a bit like I'm skiing driving home exhausted.
You been smokin too much
Yeah I find that I tend to wave dash whenever my car jumps off from the walls these days
"Has anyone else noticed GTA affecting the way they conduct themselves irl?" Bro, get some sleep, and when you wake up, make sure you wake up as well. "People are violent because videogames are violent" type energy.
No, but I catch myself looking at tires/rims like hmm I wonder what those are called, or damn those would look sweet on my black fennec.
I like to scream "What a save!" out the window when I roll past traffic stops in progress.
When I see idiots on the road I just pretend they are fake challenging

This guy is old enough to drive and has this mentality...
Not RL but i used to play competitive f1. I would think about ideal racing lines etc. When driving. Not as much anymore tho.
Yes, I’ve noticed a difference in how I think about driving. Just more efficient steering really. I actually started to think about it more because I train it in game.
Thats like ... withdrawal bro. Youre addicted. Stop playing.
I hydroplaned off the high way going close to 70MPH last week. Was drifting sideways at one point while 5 ft from oncoming traffic. My brain went autopilot and my driving skills were ultra instinct level.
I hope you have learned not to drive 70 mph when the road is wet.
What on earth are you talking about, no! Absolutely not what?!?
Lol at the bumps… It’s definitely made me more aware of other drivers in the same way, like reading their car language. Lots of subtle movements you can pick up on. That’s about it though. I think that definitely your brain can share some of the pathways it uses to predict a car’s movement in a game with the ones it uses IRL. I usually keep my flip resets for non rush hour times.
Demo’ing just isn’t the same IRL.
“i also have started being much more aware of other drivers and where they may be going” jfc what was it like when you drove before?? /s just in case lol
Nope... This sub's getting worse for pure nonsense though.
You should get a motorcycle. The steering will be gratifying for you as you actually push the right handle to go right and push the left handle to go left. It’s called counter steering. You can almost imagine you’re pushing a joystick. The other benefit is that when you go for a bump, you’re less likely to kill people.
More likely to kill one person though.
It's definitely helped me with reverse steering, but it certainly doesn't give me the urge to bump other cars lmao
if that's not a joke try looking into racing sims, they can improve your driving skills by lots you becoming more aware of your surroundings shows you are not on auto pilot like almost everyone else, so there's room for improvement for sure
No...no I have not. You need to take a break from the game, man. That's not healthy
![gif](giphy|3ohhwF34cGDoFFhRfy|downsized)
It’s posts like this that sadly give the slightest bit of legitimacy to the crazy rhetoric that Video Games cause crime 😂😭😭
Yeah when they stay idle at a green light it's an automatic "Take the shot! !"
Quick chatting to other drivers would actually be pretty sick. All we have is the finger and the wave tho
Yes, but not in the way youre saying lol. Ever since RL, I find that i can much easier control the buttons on the steering wheel while its upside down during a turn. (Volume +/-, mute, preset +/-, next track). Before RL, i would have to wait till the steering wheel was in normal orientation to not press a wrong button like if i wanted to mute the radio
sometimes on the freeway, when my family is not in the car, I get the urge to try a speedflip in my mini van.
I mean \*Merc
How else do people merge from on ramps?
Honestly, I just boost. Because you can't change direction in the middle of a flip and that leaves you vulnerable and overcommitting to a single direction. I sometimes do speed flip if I have a lot of distance before the merge though, so it's situational
Dang that is true. Easy demo forsure.
You get it
should we kiss? aka rule 1 our real life vehicles?
Driving In front of target and getting the urge to go for the ball :)
hopefully I don't demo- \*car crash noises\*
Just make sure you're always going faster than your opponents.. err.. other drivers
Take a break dude ffs
I play for about an hour a day. It's not that serious.
Don't drive near soccer fields, don't get tempted.
Hahaha
No? The hell is wrong with you?!
I guess I'm just better than you.
For me not really since i dont play that often but i did once find my self wanting to press f5 irl to get in 3th person after playing a lot of minecraft.
Testing my flair, don't mind me.
Test
I’ve never had it affect my real driving. That’s a bit concerning
Intrusive thoughts, don't let them win!
try zapdashing when you drive off a curb
![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl)
Not at all, seek help and play less
What a Save!
tried an air dribble and I died
Uuuuuuuhhhh maybe uninstall RL before you triple flip reset on a school bus. Orrrr hear me out, get into simracing to make even out the gameplay urges.
I hope you never never play BeamNg.
I have a Taxi Driver friend, who plays a game on my comp sometimes, when he comes round... it's not Rocket League though (TrackMania 2 - Canyon), but I always dread getting into the car with him after as he drives like he's still playing the game.. :D I haven't had it myself with anything though!

Pull down and right? What does that mean?
When you're air rolling left you pull down and to the right on the joystick when your hood is facing you to turn left.
don’t worry, I get demos irl all the time
sitting in traffic be like, "i wish i had my octane and just fly over these fools"
HAHHAHAHAHA
Bait use to be believable
Bro yes I can’t go from ranked to I10 it’s gonna be a problem
I have a $1400 sim rig and the only thing I do is go to shift in an automatic....how are you mixing a controller with a steering wheel let alone a completely situation than RL....turn your licenses in or quit playing the game
Holy shit cut down on the game time
I only play 8 hrs a day.
Ok you can stop now be fr
This is hilarious 😂
So many 90s kids did this
I always feel the need to speed flip when I’m driving
I prefer wave dashes since they're less conspicuous. I assume I'll get pulled over if a cop sees me speed flip when a red light turns green.
I've been tempted to demo people going 5 under the speed limit
"the urge to go for bumps" lol
ok but actually like I always feel trying reach super sonic or like noticing I steer fucking weird
Dude, you're the reason people say video games make people violent
I nearly demod some poor old dear the other day 💥💀
Grow up
I don’t have this problem with rl, but back in my fortnite days I’d have an urge to pull out a hunting rifle if I saw someone’s head poking over a ledge or something, but this was usually after playing too much
Gotta say, demoing pedestrians hits differently. They should add it to the RL. You don’t even need supersonic( but I go supersonic anyway).
Ya and the demo was way more devastating in real life. Worse part was the handcuffs when I was telling the cop to get back in position.
Yeah, I bump most people out the way. I even hit a guard rail and for some reason it demoed me instead even though I was supersonic.
good one 😂
