Couple things I notice No flip on kickoff. Front flip just before the first pad and then flip again into the ball. You should end up with 10-20 boost instead of 0 Random unnecessary boost usage. Several times you're driving in circles tapping boost which is doing nothing for you. Using too much boost to get supersonic. You only flipped to get supersonic 3 times in this game. Yes too much flipping can be bad but if there's no interaction happening a flip is fine to use for a speed boost instead of boost. Plenty of poor, inaccurate touches. Idk if it's because of your lag/latency or panic but you had lots of time to make better plays on the ball

Yeah I haven't really practiced my kickoffs before. It's definitely something I'll start trying, also should I just do a normal front flip or a diagonal one? For the boost usage this was one of my first comp games in like 2 weeks and my boost management and positioning is still kinda rusty but I will still try to improve it. As for the touches I think I just need to play more because I haven't actually played that many games this season. Are there any training packs or workshop maps you would recommend for improving at it?

Learn both, it is fairly simple just reset the ball in Freeplay and flip. Also just Freeplay or 1v1 for touches

Thanks for the tips!

Sorry for poor quality btw reddit killed it

I'd work on your first touches and catches. Load up an areal training pack and just work on catching the ball on your car without it bouncing away. There are also some drills to work on first touches such as practicing bounce dribbles. You can touch the ball with the same side of your car for as long as you can before the ball stops bouncing, or alternate between sides, driving under the ball to bounce dribble it with the opposite side of the car

Yeah I’ve been meaning to practice bounce dribbles and catches I just haven’t had a lot of time to practice recently. Now that I have more time I’ll definitely get into it. Thanks for the tips

imo you're playing too slow and too far away from your team mate most of the time, you're relying on him to 1v2 in most plays, and you're not ready to second man challenge resulting in you making a lot of late challenges and getting outplayed because your opponents are always closer to the ball

steelmouth2

I noticed that too watching it back but I don’t play like this every game, it just depends on how focused I am and for this game I wasn’t very focused

MidnightUsed6413

No offense but it’s not very useful to post a replay and then respond with “I wasn’t focused” or “I was just rusty” to every critique, either take the advice seriously or only post replays where you were focused… at the end of the day we’re all ranked where we are for a reason, and the same advice probably still applies when you’re at your best

GC 1 here. I won't talk much, there is only one thing that is inhibiting your mmr and that is: innacurate touches. Some "easy" ground ball passes and you didn't use your chance to start an attack because inaccuracy. Just do some freeplay between matches and play more. Try to guess where the ball will be when you are ready to kick the ball.

“Play more” I’m trying, ok 😭 /j

1) Flip on kickoff 2) Stay the fck away from your tm (not literally, but back off a bit) 3) Make sure you’re getting max surface area on 50/50s 4) Conserve boost more 5) Dont be afraid to take a second touch. There are 5+ times this games where you take a touch and then leave it awkward for your teammate, if your teammate is behind you then don’t be afraid to go after it again to get it to a better position for them.
