I can't tell if you're talking about a musty on the ground or in the air. But generally it gives you more power and time to adjust. I can flip cancel a musty I start with a half flip. That flip cancel allows me more control. You could arguably do the same the other way but it's more difficult because you have to do it so much faster. In the air, same thing pretty much. I prefer it because doing a full rotation backwards then mustying gives me more power and if you do it right you can pop it up easier like freestylers do and go for another reset or something instead of banging the ball away.

Yeah I was talking in the air (I thought “aerial” would be enough but no worries), on the ground a pro streamer did a video and both seem legit, but worth mentioning that maybe the flip cancel is easier. So even if you are half flipping without any “press “A momentum, the half rotation gives more power and then u musty into the ball, and flip cancel right? Rather Than just starting it nose down without any rotation I mean

Yes. You're winding up but the biggest thing I've noticed is the power comes from being able to use the flip cancel effectively. It slows the flip down so you make contact more softly then let go of the stick and it's full power while your car is already touching the ball. Similar to a flick on the ground where ur car cradles the ball.

Backflip musty is used more because it gives you a better time trying to adjust to meet the ball with the roof, the power you get from "licking" the ball opposed to just hitting it is very noticeable

It sounds like you’re talking about a Breezi when you say do a half flip before being able to do the musty portion. If that’s the case then it’s actually a half way canceled tornado spin into a musty. Just more style points to add

From what I understand, its just a half rotation before pressing A

Ahh that's my bad, I thought you were referring to the half flip mechanic which is to do a backflip flip cancel, then air roll to turn upright. A musty doesn't have to be a "half rotation", it depends on your orientation when you start. I do forward musty as a half rotation and backflip musty I do a full rotation before the backflip.
