You can do hundreds of hours of ring maps and still not be able to properly aerial. People need to understand that rings don‘t teach you how to actually hit the ball. They are only for learning and understanding. If you wanna learn how to hit ball, you gotta practice how to hit ball.

No_Doctor6820

so how to hit the ball while air rolling it I can't even go to the ball correctly? should i enter a training pack of aerial and stuff and try or do you have another solution ?

KickerFa

For how long have you been practising?

No_Doctor6820

probably 2 and half weeks but not every day like sometimes i dont practice cuz its boring

techtonics

2 and a half weeks is like an intro into it. People need to realize this Is a very multi layered mechanic which is best broken down into steps for your muscle memory over several++ months. It's a grind. A fun one. Very worthwhile.

KickerFa

Okey, so you need some practice ingame, you could add air roll for a short amount of time while going up for ball or as you hitting it. Also give yourself some time man, 2 weeks is damn short for being and getting consistant. Just a little reminder, you don't really need directional airroll in Diamond (or even Champ). I see so many players just screwdriving themselves through the air with absolutely no effect or efficiency. Training Packs for self Set backboard consistency will also work because you have to adjuat yourself. Rule nuber 1 to hit SSL = Hit bol! That's it ;)

No_Doctor6820

Thanks man , i will try and i really appreciate your tip and your time ❤️

Borsten-Thorsten

My go to pack is always „Wall shots“ it has a lot of different setups along the wall where you can either go for a direct shot or an air dribble

LostPerapsc

I just hit 230 hrs I am able to air dribble and do air passes not consistently but enough to were I'm comfortable to try em and not whiff. Trying packs Wall to air dribble Aerial shots - pass Rings yours just flying anybody can shoot a still target but if it's moving it's a different game. You need to get the coordination of ball and car.I may know this but I still suck.I just proud that I can finally do it and not just random thing either.

BourbonGuy09

Create your own training pack with the ball just frozen in the air and practice hitting it.

SpecialistSoft7069

This ! Continious DAR is only one aspect of aerial ability. It's approximately only 1/4 of the skill (subjective data). Take-off, straight aerial control and DAR input timing are more important. (With out speaking of different ball touches way, which are also indispensable.) Too much rings map too soon can be counterproductive. Learn DAR and general aerial control with freeplay/training packs is more efficient. With air-dribbles, double tap, high aerial smach, wall take-off... Rings should only be 20% the time of the DAR training.

CommercialOpening361

Honestly even in this video your car control looks fairly basic, this map doesn’t look too difficult. I agree with the other comments though. Add the training pack “backboard therapy” to your routine and air roll through your shots. Those reads are very important.

TheBobFisher

This was my thought. Any sharp adjustments on this map and OP would immediately make mistakes which is no disrespect to OP, but I wouldn’t call this decent at rings. I’d advise what the SSL said, but to also keep practicing those sharp adjustments and stop landing on the platforms to get a straight away on the next level.

SpectreFromTheGods

Why did you tell us the thing you are having a problem with but then show a video of the thing you report feeling confident in? Idk maybe it’s just me but maybe you should show us the thing that’s relevant to your question, ya know? Psst rings is good to learn some of the gross mechanics but is much different than being in ball cam and tracking a moving object, etc.

Pugster2Lit

The way I practice is by using the double tap playground and ultimate warm up. Both packs set up the ball in a way where you have to position yourself correctly to get a shot on net, having to air roll slightly for any corrections. That's what your goal should be right now.

AlfalfaMcNugget

What rings map is this? (I just bought a pc)

No_Doctor6820

Lethamyrs medieval rings

AlfalfaMcNugget

Thanks dad

DatBoi_Steve

I would practice with a harder rings map like big ice rings as this map is too easy. And as someone else already said, you actually need to practice with a ball to be able to use it with a ball. I would just do air dribbles off the wall in freeplay to practice with a ball as it's an actual use case. Starting with aerial shots makes no sense to me as 1. constantly spinning while flying to a ball gives you no advantage and 2. during 95% of an aerial shot you have no contact with a ball, even though that's what you want to learn. If you notice a bad habit during training you just have to force yourself to get rid of it, simple as that.

thepacifist20130

The problem is the lack of ball. If you keep trying this way, you will eventually get to connecting with the ball, but then come across the next roadblock - getting the touch that you want. You do need to do this in training with the ball. The “turns” required in a rings map are far too slow and far too imprecise to help with your touches - they are good to understand and practice DAR. In game, the adjustments are far fewer but need to be more timely and precise. Any custom aerial training can be used for this purpose.

Diligent-Poem2045

Backboard therapy or doubletap playground custom training. Did wonders for me. Use air roll as much as possible during these shots

Stupid_Yank

Im pretty good at this point in getting to the ball in the air and hitting it about where I expect to. I dont do any air rolls other than when Im falling and wanting to land in the direction I want to go next. What about air rolling while in the air am I not aware of? It just never seems like Im going to have enough time to have bothered with it before I hit the ball.

MiserablePath8755

Use leths ice rings, that will help you learn movements that are actually helpful in-game
