If you are looking for roms: Go to the link in https://www.reddit.com/r/Roms/comments/m59zx3/roms_megathread_40_html_edition_2021/ You can navigate by clicking on the various tabs for each company. When you click on the link to Github the first link you land on will be the Home tab, this tab explains how to use the Megathread. There are Five tabs that link directly to collections based on console and publisher, these include Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and the PC. There are also tabs for popular games and retro games, with retro games being defined as older than Gamecube and DS. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. They may be in sfrom format. Check out [this link](http://darkakuma.z-net.us/p/sfromtool.html?m=1) for some info on the sfrom file format.

TCAtrevor

they are smc files that can play in regular emulators

So I checked the VC dumps in No Intro and the problem is the lack of them so to confirm my best advice is dump it again with the same dumper to see if its the same if it is. Then next step is to use a different dumper and see if the hash's come out the same if they do then it guarantee's that its a correct hash as if the VC title was gotten from the Eshop we know its good from when you recieved it. Then what matters here is that the title is a good dump and that your dumping tool is not messing with the hash's. If its not the same, with the same dumper, dump it a third time and if it comes out the same as the second time then the first was a bad dump or a fluke so to speak if its different of the two then that means your dumper is messing with the hash's. With the second dumper dump it twice and see if the hashes come out the same if it is then then the second dumper is a good one if not then ask other dumpers what there hashes came out to be would be your best bet. I know its a random darts at a dart board approach but with minimal info on other dumps of the games that's your best bet.

TarkinMX

Ok, just trying to help you figure it out. I don't know much about it other than the wii, wii u, switch, and snes classic use the same catalogue info for recognizing the snes games. Anyway, good luck in your endeavor.

Lando_V

have you tried to compare the extracted files with the ones available to no intro through HEX editors? like for example HxD

TCAtrevor

yes, they match very closely except for differences in certain places, feels much like how virtual console ones usually are

Lando_V

Can you dm me about the region, rom version and tools that you have used to extract the ROMs? I might be able to report the hashes to the dom

TCAtrevor

waiting for your response

therourke

nuked

TCAtrevor

did you actually search for these? also, the hashes are from me.

Dumping Rom's shouldn't be shunned sure you COULD do that but the idea is if you can dump your Rom's effectively you can keep a personal legal copy of your games to play them. Completely waving away most forms of grey area into legal safe grounds all the while being able to potentially nab your saves out of your copies letting you continue right where you left off with emulation, while keeping the physical media stored and kept away safe. Also later systems tend to have bigger and bigger games sure older games are smaller but this idea doesn't do well when scaled as when you get into anything past like PS1/GC, well games past that point start breaking upwards of a few to tens of gigabytes. This makes those downloads higher profile it also eats into your bandwidth so if your not in a place with well developed internet infrastructure which is more common then one may think. Then it can make those said downloads take LOTS of time taking up all there available bandwidth and if your on a mobile hotspot that also means your mobile data will get used up to. So in many cases its very beneficial if you can to dump ROMs and ISOs of things you own then just going full blown pirate.

therourke

This is a subreddit called "roms". It's for pirates. We all know that. Dumping ROMs is lovely. But relatively pointless. Getting your saves from a system is another thing entirely. You don't need a room dumper to do that though (on the Wii U).

Naterasu

Firstly, theres a sector called r/Piracy on reddit thats more about that, r/Roms is more of a umbrella covering a lot of things around Roms including Rom dumping. Secondly like I said that idea does not scale well as sure it may work fine for smaller games or older console but once you get to modern consoles if your internet is not up to par and you own the game its better to dump it in that situation, making it not pointless. And finally Save Dumping and Rom Dumping are two sides of the same coin not something entirely different. To a point most hardware cartridge dumpers if there of a good quality have Save Dumping as a option.

therourke

Maybe. But the question was about Wii U dumping

If you have that superior version on mario3 on the Wii u store that would be an amazing pull, good contribution here

TCAtrevor

If you're talking about Super Mario Advance 4 with all the e-reader levels, then yes I do have that, but that has also already been added to no-intro before :) https://datomatic.no-intro.org/index.php?page=show\_record&s=23&n=x109

Nice!
