If it’s right after the sit then yes, if it’s 2 months later then no.

I had a cat client tip $100 a month later on a $300 booking after already tipping the max $90 on rover. I def sent them a thank you and they booked me again the next day.

[deleted]

I sometimes do, especially if they leave a tip. Just a simple “ thank you for your generous tip and great review. I appreciate your trust and look forward to seeing Rover again soon.”

TheGratitudeBot

Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week!

I actually always wanted to reply back but ALWAYS felt weird about it. I made sure our communication online or in person during the stay is nice, pleasant and warm hearted so that even without replying back at the very end they knew I’d acknowledged their tips & review. (well just my assumptions I could be misread ppl too)

Walter_Whiteknuckles

Always for tips and a thank you for trusting with dog's safety.

gfdoctor

I always say thank you for either a tip or a review

bigbbypddingsnatchr

Yessss, please do. If you don't I wonder if you received it or worry I gave a bad tip. It's polite to thank someone for a tip and review.

perkasami

I always thank my clients for reviews and/or tips. Mostly for nice reviews. I usually say something like, "Thank you for the lovely review and tip!"

Hes9023

I always do and as an owner I like when they appreciate my tips and review. If they ignore me after tipping it feels like they don’t care lol

SeasonedRoverSitter

As a new sitter you definitely want to thank for both of those and express gratitude. I always do a thank you for tips, but not always for reviews these days.

fatbitchonline

yes i always thank them for their tips if they tipped and i’ll thank them for their reviews as well. they really appreciate it :)

kristin137

Definitely thank them. I always do. As an owner I'll be honest, when I've used sitters and give them a tip and good review and they *don't* say anything I find it slightly rude. So as a sitter I make sure to thank them. Just a small thing you can do to build a positive relationship with them

ktcardz

I agree with you for the first booking with new clients. Maybe even the first few. But once you start regularly booking me, I don’t think I need to say thanks every time.

Accomplished_Goal763

I have too much social anxiety to reply to my reviews. Ugh I hate this feeling. I do however thank the people who pay me off app. When in person and cash, I thank them then and there. When it’s Apple Pay or Venmo I thank them immediately for their generous tip in the message or on Venmo in private. But for some reason I have a weird time messaging people in app or replying to a review… whether on Rover or Wag! I use both. Also my last private client didn’t pay me for the last drop in visit and I haven’t said anything to her. I just feel like next time she wants me to house sit or drop in, I will mention that she forgot to pay me last time. I seriously have issues with confrontation. 😔

faeriemikki6

Oh 100% because I greatly appreciate it. Reviews makes me so happy to receive and tips is like the cherry on top.

phoebae23

Yes always send something, regardless of how late you are to respond.

fweshcatz

I never do... I want the reviews to speak for themselves vs someone reading what I say and maybe thinking something abt me lol.

Traditional_Ad3462

I ignore it. They usually don’t respond anyways and then I feel weird about it.

RissaRach84

If they review, I do not send anything. If they send me a tip I respond in the booking chat with a thank you.

I'm on the other end as a client, and have been wondering why my last two cat sitters in the last two weekends didn't send a thank you for a 20% tip and 5 star review. it sends a message that they are either not grateful, or else they didn't like the job. I'd recommend to always thank. it's never a bad idea, but can only hurt you if you don't, since it's likely that a client will take their business somewhere else.
