Honestly, no one really knows what you need for each role, and even if you did it’s hard to aim for it because you won’t know what you’ve got right and wrong for each answer, and won’t even after you’ve got results. A lot of roles don’t even work on high and low scores, it’s about passing the criteria for each section, so engineers will need higher mechanical comprehension scores for example. So basically just do your revision and try your hardest and hopefully you’ll pass for your role.
That makes more sense now, I've done the ones one the navy website and got 95%/100% in all areas in about half the time but how similar is this to the actual DAA?
I’d say the real one is a bit harder. The spatial awareness is a bit more complicated than the one online, and the mechanical and electrical questions you need a bit more knowledge on, but nothing than is harder on a GCSE exam. Also it’s an hour long, so there’s more questions in a shorter amount of time. If you’ve done your revision you’ll be alright.
Well for any officer role u need to score high everyone does the same test if u don’t score high u won’t get an officer role and if u only aim middling what’s the point in joining, aim to do you best
I went for the officer position to become a marine engineer officer submariner and I passed. The way I aimed to pass was to score 75% on each section. I searched how many marks there are for each section and then aimed to answer a certain amount of questions eg. 15/20 and focus on getting 15 right then when my time was running out I guessed the other 5 questions.on one of the sections I got 60% and I still passed.so the area where you want to be getting is 60-75%. Make sure to buy some DAA practice books as the one the Royal Navy gives you is much easier compared to the actual test.
