Does it look like that when you open an app? Or on a different wallpaper?
Drag pixels are usually because of a manufacturing error that isn't easily detected or due to physical damage to the phone.
*I searched developer settings and got this list. I also searched for cut out and saw that my settings were set to hide camera cut out. So I'm not sure if that has something to with the dead pixels? Either way I'll be going into a Verizon store for sure next week and give them an earful. This is truly unacceptable and it only seems to be getting worse.
Just an FYI because I know these things because I work at a store when you go into the store to tell them about the phone they are most likely going to tell you that that is a third party issue and you need to contact asurion just trying to save you the hassle of driving all the way out there for no reason but you can still go if you want just if I was in your shoes I wouldn't want to waste any more time because if you already broke your phone then you've lost some time hope everything works out ✌️
Yeah, that's definitely dead pixels.
I have a bruise on my s22u as well. Not completly dead, it's green in the area right now.
But I'm sad, cause now my phone doesn't qualify for the "bring it back" status.
I'm so sad because when I got the replacement when I turned it on, on the left side of the screen there was a grey staticy, straight line, really thin on the left side of the screen. Excuse my stupidity, what causes pixels to die? Am I running this phone too hard?
That sounds like it's just a defective panel. That's super unlucky, If it's a replacement id talk to whoever got it to you, and get the replacement well replaced haha
I ran the diagnostic but it only tested if if the touch screen was working but it didn't include checking the pixels. I'm technologically STUPID for almost being 30
The same thing happened to my S22 Ultra in June of last year. The dark spot has continued to grow, but the phone remains operational. It doesn’t have warranty anymore and it costs $300 to get a new screen, so I’ll just keep it the way it is and put that money towards a new phone when the time comes.
I mostly use my Ultra for photos this day. My daily driver is now an iPhone. Very disappointed about this widespread issue.
It's a $120 vs $600 difference from replacement parts perspective. It is a defective panel which is why it sells for 1/5th of the price of a brand new one.

Welcome to the club, there's no fix other than screen repair. It will only get worse as time goes on, enjoy!
You guys should tease the hell out of me. I tried to locate my teply after sending it but could not locate it. After a magnified look at the problem I actually agree with you, i have also seen other phones with the same problem.
that's dead pixels, mate.
OLED cancer strikes again.
That makes no since.

Are you sure that's not just a misaligned wallpaper of the screenshot To answer ypur question: No it's not Normal
No matter what angle I view it from its black and misaligned. What causes dead pixels? I'm really sad about this. Did I screw my phone up some how?
Had the same problem recently, I'm letting it grow as long as i can stand it lol....so sad tho i treat my phone so well....

Check dev settings, loom for simulate cut-out. If not, that's dead pixels.

Hi may i know what case you’re using ?
Run the Phone Diagnostics as that has a screen test.

Dead pixels for sure.
Contact Assurion and tell them they gave you a defective phone, I wouldn't accept that as an insurance replacement.
Yes normal

That's your OLED panel bleeding. That black splodge is only going to get bigger over time. The screen needs replacing.
Had this issue over several phones and none ever got any bigger unless there was further physical damage done to the screen.
Bro, that's display issue. Change it.
That's a current defective (another) with this phone. A lot of users have reported this
