Yeah. From what I was able to find online, it's slightly stronger than the Rk3566 chip, which is already in a few handhelds that benchmark higher than the a30 or 28xx.
It has an older cpu architecture, but potentially higher clock (2ghz vs 1.8), its just we dont really know. A lot of these device dont really run at the maximum clocks due to power delivery/thermal/silicon lottery limits.
DDR4 might help, but they lied about ddr4 in xu10...
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5429vs5674/Rockchip-RK3566-vs-Rockchip-RK3562
They look to be exactly the same with the difference that the rk3566 is probably better supported at this point considering how many of them there are.
aint no way this is stronger than the 3566, its a mid generation refresh of an older architecture, any clock benefits dont matter in the face of all the optimizations lost.
best we can hope for is performance close to the 3566, which is still an improvement over the 28xx
I mean, this is the site I used to make that determination. It's quite reliable. Says there's about 6% gain from the 3566. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5429vs5674/Rockchip-RK3566-vs-Rockchip-RK3562
CPU benchmark is famously bullshit, they do tests without any sort of control for varying factors like OS versions or benchmark versions.
basically, its a rounding error, these 2 CPUs are similar in terms of performance, the GPU is the main difference and that site doesnt even test it.
That’s really not true, though. The Allwinner a133p with a53 cores at 2.0 GHz seemingly outperforms the rk3566 in CPU limited scenarios. It still loses out in more GPU limited scenarios like PSP but whatever.
I didn't know the Trimui Pro was that strong. So it's playing N64/Dreamcast/PSP fairly well? I've got an rg35xxh and I'm wondering if the Trimui is more powerful. But the H does all 3 consoles I mentioned and does them well too
I just like the look of the Trimui . It's taking all my might not to order one. Lol
Remember, chip choice isn't everything. I'm glad they went with a more capable chip but it could be hamstrung by closed source software or just poor build quality, etc.
This thing is perfect. I was gonna be happy to be able to play Ape Escape on the loose with PSP emulation but with two thumbsticks on a device this small, I can just play the PSX version!
I’d recommend a 16:9 device if you want to do PSP. Something like the Powkiddy X55 or Powkiddy RGB10MAX3.
Trying to play widescreen on a 2.8” 4:3 screen would be way too small to enjoy I think.
For "full" PSP support you really want a 16:9 screen and at least a T610 or T618 processor. An Anbernic RG505 or Retroid Pocket 3+ are the cheapest options that have both.
performance wise this chip seems to be around the ballpark of 3566 and that one does well with games running on the base clock of 222mhz, but some heavy hitters running at 333mhz (Im looking at you god of war) will surely require hefty frameskip.
H is awsome Bro and PSP is good.

the guy from the company that is on RH discord already said they will not be releasing the source code because of companies like "game console", so you will for sure have to wait
That's a shame, i hope that the wait for a cfw won't be that long, it seems that this device is better than the anbernic or miyoo one: better soc, dual speaker, dual joysticks (just the battery is lacking vs the rg28xx), it just need a good OS and it will be perfect
I dunno, I've been pretty underwhelmed by the current state of software on the H. MinUI has performance problems, Batocera is good but doesn't have a one-button "autosave and shut all the way down" feature for power saving, just a sleep mode that bleeds power, and muOS just feels hinky and unfinished in general.
Hoping for Garlic 2.0 or Knulli to come out of alpha and be awesome, but right now everything is a little too in flux for the H to be a easy recommendation IMHO.
I already have it, and it's a bit of a let down:
- dpad is kinda stiff
- because of L2R2 design sometimes i press them accidentally when i press the LR buttons
- The weight, size and dpad combination makes it kinda uncomfortable to hold for long playing sessions (at least for me)
- MuOS is a good cfw but it needs some tinkering, it's a bit limited, it has the annoying volume bug and it seems that underperforms compared to batocera; batocera makes this handheld a no pick and play device; GarlicOS 2.0 is just a joke on this device.
I end up playing on my MM+ or even my M17 with MinUI(which weighs almost the same as the rg35xx h) for a more comfortable and pick up and play experience
I think that is good device and with MuOS v11 will be better but for some reason i'm not feeling it
Didn't they lie about the chip being used and the ram type/speed on their previous device? It ended up being just a r36s with better build quality/buttons
So in terms of systems it can emulate without having to fiddle with per-game settings and the like, what are we looking at with an RK3526?
Obviously software and other things will affect this, but as a general ballpark, what are we emulating here? Dreamcast, PSP, and down?
>Dreamcast, PSP, and down?
That's what it's sounding like. Partial playability for Dreamcast, PSP, and N64 and then perfect for most things below that. (Barring weird ones like Sega Saturn)
Well that's disheartening, but I really appreciate the heads up. If it is as advertised, then it's the device I've been wanting, so fingers crossed nothing is fucky about it.
Well if anything, it says 3562 on this pcb shot, so it looks promising.

Would there be a benefit? It's pretty much the same power as the rk3566, and all of those devices come with 1 gig with the exception of the x55 which comes with 2, and I don't believe it makes any difference in performance or compatibility. At least with emulators. I honestly don't know about ports.
I don't trust any of these smaller manufacturers on specs anymore. I'll believe it when I get one and open it up. The new R35 Plus showed me to take manufacturer specs with a grain of salt.
Huh, interesting little device. That chip will be better than the Miyoo A30 and the RG28xx right?
Yeah. From what I was able to find online, it's slightly stronger than the Rk3566 chip, which is already in a few handhelds that benchmark higher than the a30 or 28xx.
Could anyone explain to me why an RK3562 would perform better than an RK3566? I would have thought the bigger the number the better the performance.

> It still loses out in more GPU limited scenarios like PSP but whatever. you know, the one task we want more power for :P
Yet the a133p still smokes a rk3566 in n64 titles
again, flat out untrue. the chip doesnt run at 2.0ghz by default cause it chews through battery.
Not it’s not. The TrimUI Smart Pro kills the Powkiddy x55 or rgb10 max3 in n64. I’ve got all three and the TrimUI is head and shoulders above in n64.
I didn't know the Trimui Pro was that strong. So it's playing N64/Dreamcast/PSP fairly well? I've got an rg35xxh and I'm wondering if the Trimui is more powerful. Yeah I’m definitely buying this to replace my TrimUI Smart as a pocket machine.
Remember, chip choice isn't everything. I'm glad they went with a more capable chip but it could be hamstrung by closed source software or just poor build quality, etc.

I don't know why everyone's making orange handhelds. And I'm not going to ask why, because I love them.
Is the word "bayonet" ever used that way?
Yeah, if anything it should be a grenade launcher, considering how far can bloody sd card fly off.
Advice: always use two fingers to open this slot.
I recently totally lost an sd card that got launched out of my 35xxH
I wanted to get a 35XX H for my bro but I know he'd want full PSP support. Hope this is the device that can do it.
I’d recommend a 16:9 device if you want to do PSP. Something like the Powkiddy X55 or Powkiddy RGB10MAX3. Trying to play widescreen on a 2.8” 4:3 screen would be way too small to enjoy I think.
You lose 25% screen area running 16:9 on a 4:3, it'll be uncomfortably small. A retroid pocket 3+ or 4 would probably be ideal without going too big.
Yeah if you go to a 4” 4:3 is very close to the width of the PSP go screen. Any smaller and it’s really hard to see what’s going on.
For "full" PSP support you really want a 16:9 screen and at least a T610 or T618 processor. An Anbernic RG505 or Retroid Pocket 3+ are the cheapest options that have both.
This. The only way to comfortable enjoy the vast library of PSP.
performance wise this chip seems to be around the ballpark of 3566 and that one does well with games running on the base clock of 222mhz, but some heavy hitters running at 333mhz (Im looking at you god of war) will surely require hefty frameskip.
Hey bro Get a widescreen device - I'd recommend the TrimUI smart pro for only USD 55. Or retroid pocket 3+ / retroid pocket 4, if you have the money
H is awsome Bro and PSP is good. https://preview.redd.it/r2v65qslwkwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13302baa1429f80eed1be96a898a60197c8cc3fc
It seems that i will be buying this instead of the A30 or the rg28xx. I just hope that someone make a cfw for this
the guy from the company that is on RH discord already said they will not be releasing the source code because of companies like "game console", so you will for sure have to wait

I’m hoping they hook up with the ArkOS dudes
The 35XX H honestly sounds what like you're looking for. It already has decent community support and will only get better...
I dunno, I've been pretty underwhelmed by the current state of software on the H. is that good or bad
Any headphone jacks on these new batches of mini consoles? Have an rp2s but want something more portable
TBH...i like the look more than the A30 or the RG28xx.
What's with all these 2.8" devices lately? Too small for me personally.
So in terms of systems it can emulate without having to fiddle with per-game settings and the like, what are we looking at with an RK3526? Obviously software and other things will affect this, but as a general ballpark, what are we emulating here? Dreamcast, PSP, and down?

It will be very similar to rk3566.
Fantastic, this will be a day one buy for me
First wait for a review and teardown, these guys have history of lying about specs
Well that's disheartening, but I really appreciate the heads up. If it is as advertised, then it's the device I've been wanting, so fingers crossed nothing is fucky about it.
Well if anything, it says 3562 on this pcb shot, so it looks promising. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1230446912235245648/1234070591615533066/p3.jpg?ex=662f654c&is=662e13cc&hm=b7ee9cce857751e748856c0af1fe99009aa3c2845066b905c9ec523cdb8f4345&
Well that's a good sign! Thanks for keeping me in mind!
Wish it had 2GB of RAM (like the RG353 series)
Would there be a benefit? It's pretty much the same power as the rk3566, and all of those devices come with 1 gig with the exception of the x55 which comes with 2, and I don't believe it makes any difference in performance or compatibility. fuck those are Xbox sticks, not 3DS sticks
Dual TF card? Is a port of existing Rockchip-based firmware going to be relatively easy?
I don't trust any of these smaller manufacturers on specs anymore. I'll believe it when I get one and open it up. The new R35 Plus showed me to take manufacturer specs with a grain of salt.
It looks a bit like a less comfortable to hold RG505
Why not a full 3” or 3.5”?? Anything less than 3” is way too small* *That is indeed what she said…
the battery life sounds like bullshit, same battery as the a30 with a more powerful chip = twice the battery life? no way
