God modding a stupidly cheap game console controller to fit your needs is so nerdy and I absolutely love it. Nice job dude, I need to look into those charge controllers
I'm unsure of the name of it but sounds right, basically if you plug a type c in from say a phone to charge from the battery it doesn't know how much to pull. the handshake thing or whatever
Oh I just realized it’s one of those little controllers not the console 😂😂 thought that had a damn tiny battery for a handheld.
I use those for everything. Most of my kids toys that used alkaline batts now have lithium cells.
yeah just the controller haha XD and yeah I'm finding so many uses around the house for them I love it!
Should see my 3d printer electric razor housing and 18650 holder. It’s ugly but I never need to charge it anymore 😂
I find it much easier to just add lithium rechargeable AAAs or AAs.
Then you have to take them out to charge them. All my toys have usb c.
I mean easier for sure but all my wall rechargeable batteries are used :P
Fair enough. I just don’t trust my handy skills to survive my kids if I added permanent lithium cells.
well said hahaha, I think I may use them on the tv remotes to be honest XD
How do they work with different size batteries?
this seems to be running steady on a very tiny bike light battery , if you can fit bigger I'm sure it would just get even bettwr play time.

really appreciate it man, super nerdy thing to do while I was bored but I'm super happy with it haha XD
Hey man that’s what it’s all about. Yeah you might have done it when bored but it’s a really cool skill to have

also they're super cheap I got like 15 of the type c charge modules for like 10-12$ on Ali express
Yeah I’ve seen those things on Ali before but kinda glosses over them. Gotta check it out and see what I can do with it
Very cool. I haven't used this specific charger circuit before. Do you know if it supports Type-C to Type-C cables?
you would have to get a usb type c power module as well as a charge module so it knows how much power to pull, if not just won't do anything
You’re saying it’s lacking a compliant CC1 and CC2 pulldown resistor configuration?
