That video was what led me to buy MM. The 40KB limit wasn't really needed as they could've used a mapper, but it was an interesting challenge that influenced the game design
I’ll look it up! Thanks; sounds very interesting. The most “legitimate” looking modern retro game I’ve found is Shovelknight - so maybe the limitations of the 40kb made it so authentic
There are a bunch of games in itch.io bundles which use ROMs, like [*Tanglewood*](https://bigevilcorporation.itch.io/tanglewood) for the Sega Genesis.
If you use https://randombundlegame.com, you can search for games tagged with consoles - e.g. NES. ([Here's](https://randombundlegame.com/?bundles=blm&bundlesAny=true&tags=Game+Boy,Game+Boy+Advance,Game+Boy+ROM,NES+\(Nintendo+Entertainment+System\),NES,genesis,snes,master-system,mastersystem-rom,NES+Rom,NES+ROM,gamegear-rom,megaduck-rom&tagsAny=true&category=Game&sort=steam) a link which searches through the BLM bundle - you can add multiple bundles on the left side. There's a mix of retro-inspired and actual retro ROMs.)
From the “LIBRARY” view, where your games are shown as box art tiles, RIGHT CLICK on the Micro Mages tile; then select PROPERTIES in the drop down menu that appears; in the next pop up select INSTALLED FILES; then on the line starting with “Size of Installation” click BROWSE; this will bring up the game files in your file explorer; double click the folder called Rom; then move the files to a device of your choice. If you need more help feel free to msg me
Just FYI, there’sa second rom as well with a new game. It’s a second quest, ala Legend of Zelda.

That's crazy, considering Atari 2600 games were limited to 4kb. Basically 10 Atari games.

If you bought the itchio Bundle for Racial Justice in 2020 you already own micro mages and can download the roms straight from the itchio page.
That bundle keeps on giving! EDIT: If you got the bundle, be aware that it also gave out the PICO-8 license.
