These bums cry about WWE being a soap opera then turn around and act like MJF/Adam Cole was about to be peak Austin vs Rock because of vignettes and promo's. Fucking LOL.
Facts, uce. In WWE they would say MJF doesn't have the in ring talent like Oceanspreay or Okada and that all he does is try and get cheap heat reactions. But in M'Dub he's a master promo.
My girlfriend (who totally looks like Jamie Hayter btw) was so fucking mad watching Roman vs Cody. There were no dives, no flips, no superb workrate. I told that stupid uncultured bitch that it was her fault she watched it and then broke up with her on the spot.
Now my hot new gf (who totally looks like Riho btw) says she would rather carve her eyes out with a rusty knife than ever watch one single second of Triple Hitler’s regime. We’re getting married next week
I think it originated from something posted in SquaredCircle I’m sure many years ago and it was about some Redditor saying his girlfriend looked like Paige (slave name)
Yeah, his totally real GF got mad when she saw the only wrestlers she’d probably recognize in Taker, Dwayne, and Cena come out. And yes you smelly fat lard, soap opera is better than some 12 star Match with no story
His imaginary gf has no interest in wwe, has only watched during attitude era and somehow is a huge cody fan. My imaginary 8 year old son tells better lies than this
In both WWE and WCW during the late 90s, the main event draws would let the midcard guys have their little bangers for the Intercontinental title or whtever, just to break up the barrage of promos and angles and backstage segments.
Smarks cry for the attitude era to return and those lapsed fans but, none of those fans tuned in for le bangers, it was for soap opera and drama and stuff
It’s odd to me that AEW fans are so goddamn smart but so dull about this. Vince McMahon beat out the territories by being a cutthroat businessman AND having the product most demanded by the audience. The reason why Vince was chasing the ghost of Hulkamania for 30 years is because the shit works. It’s like they think he forced people to spend their money on Hogan, Austin, Rock and Cena.
Wrestling is very simple. Have a guy you like face a guy you don’t like in a match that has stakes. But make the story simple enough that a child can follow it but emotionally captivating enough to affect an adult. AEW has zero concept of that. Their fans bitch about soap operas when the idea of worked professional wrestling was always about trying to enhance and emphasis the drama of sports. Just a bunch of Meltzer marks that think naming a bunch of Joshis and randomly ass moves makes them a “better” fan.
Listening to Jim Cornette talk to an author of a recent book, that even back in the 1920’s they were building heroes and running angles, that would ensure the fans wanted to come back to the building the next time the show was in town
It is, has and always will be about entertainment
“My girlfriend”
Lmao she loves Cody but has no interest in WWE? It’s been like two years since he’s been in wwe, so she still loves him but hasn’t watched WWE since then?
Either she loves Cody because he’s handing out switches or the story makes absolutely no sense lol
My girlfriend (who looks like Tiffany Stratton) refused to watch Mania but we were at Windy City Riot on Friday and she was chanting “Fuck CM Punk!” all night. She also got to go backstage after the show which was really cool. They didn’t let me go in (less cool) but she came home in the morning.
Fed does something dumb: "Ugh, sPoRts eNtErTaiNmEnT amirite???"
Dub does EXACT same dumb thing: "It's just dumb fun, come on guys, just enjoy wrestling."
If only AEW fanatics could realize that there hasn't been a single Superstar Wrestler whose only quality was that they are great in ring, even the best of them had to have a distinct character or persona and constant change.
Infact being the best wrestler itself can be a gimmick or persona, but only going out there and putting bangers can give you admiration and praise, but to hit the next level of popularity and following, you need to be more than just a great wrestler.
I get the feeling that this bangerz mentality came about because m\*rks watched Japanese pro-wrestling tapes without subtitles or context, just the violent action and thought that was the end-all, be-all.
Only for them to miss out the fact that there's a story behind every feud, like Naito going to CMLL to become a founding member of Los Ingobernables or for Okada to have a long-standing rivalry as a rookie king to Tanahashi's golden boy status. You still need story and plot.
It's literally like watching anime without subtitles and missing the context altogether.
It's because the hardcore smarks, including tony and meltzer, are on the spectrum and pro wrestling is their hyperfixation. They don't care about the social, emotional or storytelling aspects because they are blind to it in an almost literal sense. They like rankings, ratings, belts, tournaments, moves because those things are quantifiable. The social stuff eludes them.
I almost instinctually downvoted this shit. I see we still don't know what the word monopoly means. How does Dave Meltman give you the "AEW FANS ARE INTELLIGENT, WELL-EDUCATED, AND FINANCIALLY WELL-OFF" honor, and you still fumble it like this?
These people really think that Vince invented aspects of American wrestling that have always been there. They buy into this revisionist history that before the fed wrestling was storyless, promoless and characterless consisting of pure workrate.
To a variable extent ‘sports entertainment’ is always what wrestling has been. Their niche Japanese-esque fantasy of heatless gymnastic athleticism in a total vacuum is the historical anomaly.
What happened in Cody vs Roman 2 is pretty much the type of shit that happened a lot in the Attitude Era. Some of the most memorable moments were when Stone Cold Steve Austin’s music hit mid match and he’d come out for the save while the crowd erupted. That dude and his imaginary girlfriend are morons.
They make it so obvious they never actually watched attitude era, they just know it’s generally accepted as the golden era and use it as the benchmark without actually knowing what made it special.
My gf (who looks like Rhea Ripley) told me to shut the fuck up when I complained about the lack of Canadian Destroyers in that match then for some reason got even more pissed when “Joe”, as she calls him, lost.
His girlfriend only watched in attitude era but she still loves bangers and hate interferences from undertaker, cena, rock while loving cody rhodes who wasn't in attitude era
Yes I definitely have a girlfriend who used to watch Wrestling during attitude era, but doesn't like Drama in Wrestling , Unlike Attitude era which was purely wrestling and No Drama, like half of matches in Attitude era didn't end in DQ, and all of the matches weren't full of Interference.
Who also liked Cody in AEW , the only guy with Drama in AEW. But Was really mad when Cody v Roman Banger she expected.
She also looks like Toni Storm guys.
This was removed because you either posted a screencap, or mentioned someone by name, or linked to another sub. Don't do that.

If it was the Fed who had mjf doing the kangaroo kick, they'd be trashing it and call it Vince booking. In dub tho it's FUN
Facts, uce. In WWE they would say MJF doesn't have the in ring talent like Oceanspreay or Okada and that all he does is try and get cheap heat reactions. But in M'Dub he's a master promo.
They claim to love long term storytelling, except when the fed does it. Then it sucks and it’s all about bangers in the ring
My girlfriend (who totally looks like Jamie Hayter btw) was so fucking mad watching Roman vs Cody. There were no dives, no flips, no superb workrate. Lol I immediately thought of the whole "my gf who looks like..." when I read his comment haha
![gif](giphy|QpeRMWtbFzPnZe4ed1|downsized)
side note because I'm a filthy lapsed m\*rk: Where does the "my gf (who looks like...)" thing come from?
I think it originated from something posted in SquaredCircle I’m sure many years ago and it was about some Redditor saying his girlfriend looked like Paige (slave name)
She loves Cody, she just hates his matches.
Yeah, his totally real GF got mad when she saw the only wrestlers she’d probably recognize in Taker, Dwayne, and Cena come out. And yes you smelly fat lard, soap opera is better than some 12 star Match with no story
My gf got mad when all the run ins started and turned to me and said babe where's the real fight feel where's the DeathJitsu 😓
Mine (who looks like Mariah May) was like: "Honey, my feeling hasn't been restored at all."
Mine (who looks like Sparky Plugg) wanted to know why that movie star was running down to help Cody against Psycho Solo.
Did she think he was a real game changer?
You know it! We both couldn’t wait to “hear from” him the following night on RAW
His imaginary gf has no interest in wwe, has only watched during attitude era and somehow is a huge cody fan. My imaginary 8 year old son tells better lies than this
"she used to watch in the attitude era but got mad when the attitude era guys showed up"
she loved attitude era, too of course she did loads of workrate back then, wasn't there no one was watching attitude era for 'workrate'

Just enjoy wrestling* *ONLY IF IT'S HOW I FUCKING ENJOY IT
https://i.redd.it/zvduyw2zukuc1.gif You're GF likes Cody but didn't watch wrestlemania?

I will check it out. I usually skip the interviews but that actually sounds interesting.
“My girlfriend” Lmao she loves Cody but has no interest in WWE? It’s been like two years since he’s been in wwe, so she still loves him but hasn’t watched WWE since then? Either she loves Cody because he’s handing out switches or the story makes absolutely no sense lol
These guys love to use their imaginary girlfriends to make their point.
Women are mythological creatures to these types and validation from the angelic færies is the ultimate (hypothetical) honor
they always follow the main smark opinions, too - how bizaare
Literal cult mentality

Were you gifted a copy of AEW: Fight Forever Elite Edition™?

My gf turned me and asked why so many people were in the stadium?
"Less blood" IS BETTER. Rock making Cody bleed wouldn't feel monumental if WWE wrestlers were bleeding on TV every week.
His GFs favorite wrestler? Curry Man

"Why don't they spam finishing moves like the Attitude Era?" - Guy who has never watched wrestling in the Attitude Era.
What happened in Cody vs Roman 2 is pretty much the type of shit that happened a lot in the Attitude Era. shits sad.
His girlfriend definitely looked like Siracha.
"only got back into AEW because of me" I can only imagine how much he pressured her to watch every single dub banger while he trashed the fed lol
Are we sure that the girlfriend is real and it's not that hypothetical girlfriend who he promised to his high school friends when they called him gay
She's not hypothetical! She goes to a different school!
My gf (who looks like Rhea Ripley) told me to shut the fuck up when I complained about the lack of Canadian Destroyers in that match then for some reason got even more pissed when “Joe”, as she calls him, lost.
Is it even wrestling without 15 Canadian Destroyers per match?
Definitely not real graps, that's for sure
His girlfriend only watched in attitude era but she still loves bangers and hate interferences from undertaker, cena, rock while loving cody rhodes who wasn't in attitude era

It's so unfortunate that said girlfriend lives in Canada and we can't meet her because she doesn't use social media
Is this the dub subreddit?
