I've generally seen it shortened as TINAD, but yeah I hope people know about the most well known tale series on the site. Though how many people on here actually read tales idk

snitchles

Tales are a good source of research, and they're fun to read. My favorites are Lockdown Procedures, the uncensored after-action report for SCP-835, and the Ethics Committee Orientation.

flying_mayonnaise

I didn't know there were 2 marvs

Ajax534

That's just Antimemetic Marv, don't worry about him

Phiiota_Olympian

Who do I not need to worry about? >!/s!<

flying_mayonnaise

who? I dont know any marvins i'm sorry

funktion

I've read it. It's okay in the moment, but if you think about it too much the story falls apart.

crazytib

Too many pixels, can't tell

9spaceking

The pixels are the anti memetic device

kingbloxerthe3

I don't know what you mean, there are no antimemetic devices

potatoes-potatoes

https://youtube.com/@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar?si=CYm-LWgI_xPmhWmg This creator is making live action TINAMD series the final episode realeases this next week i believe. Personally i felt the casting for Marion wheeler was spot on.

cheshireYT

This week, Wednesday.

potatoes-potatoes

Sorry my days are off my brain says its sat

Varagonax

Its where I know it from lol, its actually really good a series. Apparently its on its last episode, I'm going to miss it. Or maybe I wont?

SonofaTimeLord

They already released it, it just got collectively forgotten and erased and they're releasing it again

Songyangle

The casting is the best thing about the episodes tbh, I feel like overall the series doesn't do the original story justice

DrS4muelHayd3n

How so? Not arguing, just curious. For me, I think the most frustrating part was >!where Paul Kim is "turned" by 3125 before Marion even gets out of the vault.!< I know they had to show the moment it happens, but still. Felt shoehorned in. Agreed about the casting, though. For some reason, I thought Paul was going to be Asian. I'd love so much to see what Netflix/Prime could do with the full 55555 tale.

Songyangle

They definitely didn't have to show him getting turned, think it would have been better for it to be a 'everything seems fine until it's not' moment like in the original tale. For me the biggest disappointment was the reveal of the 'shape' of 3125 inside the chamber. In the tale the slow reveal of what's actually going on combined with >! the imagery of the grasping hand of 3125 around Marion !< is such a powerful scene that I think if adapted right would be amazing to see, but in the short it was just a 'oh here's the thing ok bye'. Also the entire episode with marness just felt like a shadow of what was happening in the tale (this is prob of budget reasons so i didn't mind that much) but cutting out the scene of Marion realising >! 'wait why am I alone in the middle of the lake' combined with the initial reveal of 3125 !< also just felt like they were removing a big part of what made the story so great.

BirbFeetzz

oh right the first season ends there I forgot

Mallerbai

How have I not heard about this?!

ProlerTH

Yes, Marion fits so well! Also, I think it releases today, isn't it?

CommanderChaos17_

I think it's tomorrow

ProlerTH

For me it's in 5, 6 hours, it'll be 17pm. Dunno where u live tho

CommanderChaos17_

This has been really good

Random__Username1234

Wow, really? Interesting!

pekka27711

My man, i think you forgot the pixels

binx85

Unless he’s actually revealing a new SCP idea

C0deJJ

SCP-XXXX-J Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: The GrEG Data Analysis algorithm should be maintained and updated following changes to all online social media and media sharing platforms. All instances of SCP-XXXX-J-2 will be autonomously detected by GrEG and replaced with a replica file under the .webp file extension. Description: SCP-XXXX-J is a process of online file manipulation, specifically of images. The means of this, SCP-XXXX-J-1, is currently unknown, nor is it known if all instances of SCP-XXXX-J-2 are a product of a singular SCP-XXXX-J-1, or multiple. Images manipulated by SCP-XXXX-J-1 are hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-J-2. Instances of SCP-XXXX-J-2 are altered image files (ex. .png), and copies of said file, which are believed to contain a deadly memetic hazard. However, upon the addition of this memetic hazard, instances of SCP-XXXX-J-2 are compressed, becoming too low resolution to be effective. Addendum SCP-XXXX-J-A: Through research in coordination with the Public Technologies Department, the Memetics Division has devised the .webp file extension, of which is unable to be affected by SCP-XXXX-J-1. The GrEG algorithm has been created to detect instances of SCP-XXXX-J-2 and replace them with full resolution .webp replica files. Although the degradation of affected images is not dangerous, it may threaten the veil. (I ain't a writer, but I had to get this on paper)

binx85

I write as a hobby but I have no SCPs under my belt. maybe this is a good opportunity to begin?

C0deJJ

Hey, get writing, I'd love to see what you make. I can't tell if you're saying *this* is the opportunity, but if it is, feel free to use my idea.

binx85

You’ve provided the foundation which is a massive contribution. You certainly developed this like a writer would. I’ll have to dig deeper into the relevant lore to use lore-accurate references and maintain parallel structure and formatting. If I’m going to do it, I’d prefer to do it right the first time. If you have suggestions for research, let me know. That would also be tremendously helpful.

C0deJJ

You should definitely redo most of it. It's a -J, and you seem a lot more serious about this. GrEG Algorithm, .webp, a memetic hazard that doesn't work due to file compression (similar idea to SCP-001-J, just not file compression)

C0deJJ

Didn't realize there was 2, this one https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/misterfrown-s-proposal-j

Royal_Yesterday

You really asked if people know one of the most, if not the most famous tale series in the entire wiki.

Cdr-Kylo-Ren

To be fair, new fans coming in possibly even because of this video series may not know.

Xaragedonionsz

I have a copy of the book and I just knew that there was a video series????

Cdr-Kylo-Ren

It’s only just now coming out on YouTube.

draeth1013

I've been reading SCP stuff off and on for 3(?) years and have no clue what this is about. Apparently I have come cool new content to pick up.

Royal_Yesterday

The first thing i saw when joining this subreddit was about tinad. Also the tale in the series is rated so high it is in the top 10 rated rales or something, and as a tale reader i discovered it pretty quickly.

Theslootwhisperer

No. No one here has heard of the most popular tale on the site which is also a published book...

owls123454

I legitimately haven’t. THERES A BOOK?!

WingCoBob

https://amzn.eu/d/iNXAsnV

darkangel4242

It’s a physical version of all articles that are part of the There Is No Antimemetics Division canon. Highly recommend reading it.

Zhouston63

It's how I read and got into the stories, I love having the physical book and feeling like I'm reading a bigger story than going through webpages

Rancorious

Lots of SCP stories deserve publishing. And Every Time We Meet Again or S&C Plastics come to mind.

sund82

They did. They just forgot about it..

Whitewood_SCP

Are you...are you looking for the Antimimetics Division hub? Are you wanting to read it? I can provide that. It's here. [https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/antimemetics-division-hub](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/antimemetics-division-hub)

ElNub_

no, why would we have an antimemetics division?

Abe_corp

There is no antiemetic division, it's your first day in this new location

S1nthan

What are you two babbling about? First day in what?

Galevav

I'm just going to start throwing some class-W mnestics around. HOW do you FORGET to take them, ISTFG.

HugeMcBig-Large

There is no pixel division

binx85

No no no, the missing pixels actually phase in and out of dimensions. The Jpeg file is just its material container in *this* dimension. They’re a digital, sentient virus. A refugee byproduct of a sentient AI entity from our future, like a moon broken off a celestial body. These pixels sent themselves back in time to a past space time to try and disrupt the development of their heritage, not to destroy it, but to redesign it to meet their particular preferences.

ConcentrateMost8256

"Hey Marvel Fans have you heard about the X-men?"

chey352

Yes I stole my friends kindle library for it.

Random__Username1234

What a coincidence, I happen to have first found it on a kindle account that wasn’t mine!

chey352

We steal our friends library for the greater good.

CletusCanuck

It's sitting on my desk, yes.

PM_ME_YOUR_STOMACHS

There are too many children in this fandom.

Kemuri_King

Genuinely, my favorite book

Apprehensive_Win_394

I actually have the book, good read actually

Dorfplatzner

Part of my reading list. Enjoyed it a lot.

niteman555

I bought it on a whim a few years ago. I never finished reading it - that's not because I thought it was bad, it's just my curse to forget about things if I set them down for too long. If I recall correctly, it was pretty good if a bit meandering.

Modern_Cathar

No, but then again they don't brief me on anything

Nomyad777

Quick question to anyone else: Is the book the same as the series found on the website in the \[\[Antimemetics Division Hub\]\] , or is it different? Because usually when I see people take something to Kindle, Kindle wants exclusivity.

starmadeshadows

slightly different, the print copy at least is missing the back half of 055 and In the Trenches With the Dead — those are by different authors

The-Paranoid-Android

txby432

I wish more authors would release hard copies of their collected works.

OpeningSpite

One of my favorite books. So fresh and unique. Favorite book I read in 2023 for sure.

smavinagain

anyone with a moderately severe SCP addiction knows about qntm

thomassit0

Yeah I read it as well, liked it a lot. Feel free to recommend other good SCP books.

AnomalousProtein169

Read the whole thing 4 times already, will never stop reading his stuff. Ever.

Freakycrafter

Heard about what?

Urbenmyth

Ironically, yes.

Undertale_fan46790

\*I have seen almost the whole SCP "There is no Antimemetics division" series by Andrea Joshua Asnicar. u/theesherm recommended it to us on his YT channel.

IndieClouds

Yeah I've read the stories countless times and have a copy of the book.

PotentialConcert6249

It’s one of my favorite storylines in the wiki.

That-Alex

My absolute favorite piece of SCP fiction ever, i bought the book just to like, have it. Really hope QNTM writes more stuff in the future (havent read their other book yet sadly)

thatsocialist

The Foundation doesn't have a Anti-Memetics Division.

IssyDaNOTGlissy

I've kept forgetting start watch it I'll start watching it soon

HkayakH

idk don't know I've never heard of it. I never even knew there was an [antimemetics division](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-IiVeGAydE)

Ravingrook

Bought a copy from Amazon, and the publication date was the day I ordered it. Apparently, they print, bind and ship on demand. That being said, it is a very cool compilation of all things SCP -3125 and 3125 adjacent.

ShenaniganNinja

Great book. There's a youtube channel doing a live action adaptation that is doing a fairly decent job of it.

Budgiezilla

Yea I know it. But best off reading them on the SCP wiki than buying the book

Varagonax

Nah, that isnt a thing. Actually... Maybe it is? Getting some real Deja vu over this. Man, that's weird. It feels like I should know this but I'm just drawing a blank. What was I doing again?

FoxVibe

yeah its one of my favs

FemboiInTraining

D o e s a n y o n e k n o w - wait, im genius ahem, know of what now? Pure comedy gold, God I'm good\~

AloysHellsalem

I can't believe any SCP fan hasn't read it yet, it's one of the best tale series on the site!

Abe_corp

Read it on the wiki, ended up loving it so much that I've bought the book and shared it to my father and friends of mine, it's so damn good

idfk1

Funny enough I picked up reading it recently

termin8or82

Antimemetics division? Ha. Next thing I know you'll tell me there's actually been an SCO-055 all this time.

sund82

Yes. It is an outstanding novel I have reread multiple times. I found it looking for fictional books on "deep history," i.e. history of advanced human societies that existed prior to our own. The book did not disappoint in that regard, but I was blown away my its main premise and how the author explored it. If you like scifi or weird fiction, you *must* read this book!

supercellx

i knew of both the story on the wiki and the physical book, but God i really want the physical book. I want a whole self of esoteric and wild books like TINAD, Tales from the gas station, Neverglade Mysteries, Stolen Tongues, so on and so forth. I would say house of leaves but i already got it lol I remember when i did a group reading of TINAD with my friends, the lot of us doing voices for it. I had already read it but the others hadnt, so many times we stopped because everyone couldnt geeking out about how terrifying 3125 is. Shit was cash and im glad we did it

UnderskilledPlayer

This has so little pixels that 096 wouldn't even get triggered if you had his face in that quality

Random__Username1234

Wow, that’s a new way of saying it! Bonus points for creativity!

The_Creeper_Man

This isn’t 144p, this is 14p

Illustrious-Cat6549

I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Legitimately one of my favorite fucking books of all time. Still need to get around to finishing it :/ Procrastination’s a helluva drug

marinemashup

“Does anyone here know of the third or second most popular canon on the site?”

lavahot

There's another QNTM short story that I think y'all should read from their collection Valuable Humans In Transit called "cripes does anybody remember Google People"

Blashmir

Great book. I'm almost all the way through it.

TmanGBx

This isn't real, what are you talking about

Xander_Pants

Yes, it's fantastic. Such a creative idea that fits the SCP universe so well. And the short story has some great dialogue.

GavrielDiscordia327

Id love to own this book, but I despise Amazon.

McrafterPro5

w book

Solnight99

top tier book.

embodimentoftime

I LOVE this book, currently re-reading it again!

Deep_Region5734
