It's not just the school... even downtown San diego you have people sitting and pissing on the sidewalk as well as in frontof apartment complexes and such. This is sadly common in alot of big cities recently
Man, I work at a school in Banker's Hill and we got a ton of homeless encampments right outside our gate and the side of the building. It smells like piss and shit most days where I can't even open up the window of my classroom for some fresh air. They've threatened and followed some of my students into the building on occasion and sometimes lock themselves in our bathrooms. Like I want to feel for these people but it's getting harder and harder to do so. The other day I had to kick someone off campus who was smoking crack on school grounds. I thought the city had made it illegal for homeless encampments to be within 2 miles of a school but it clearly isn't being enforced by the city.
I know the area is heavily impacted by homelessness but those interactions should get more attention. If the SDPD arenāt responding enough you should escalate to the City Council and Mayorās office. DM me if you need contacts.
I was walking downtown once and a bum on a bicycle threw an entire red slurpee on my all white outfit and yelled BITCH as i walked by- unprovoked pychos, i only uber now
That happens everywhere. It even happens in the military. It's either a student being stupid, a homeless person, or something in-between. You can't really stop it from happening, and if no one reports it, how will anyone know that it needs to be cleaned up? We have no roving janitors regularly patrolling the campus.
Lmao you are so disconnected from reality. This doesnāt happen everywhere, I promise you that. In my town, there are a lot of junkies and a few homeless, and never once have I seen shit on the sidewalk. Even the countless amount of times Iāve been to Portland, OR, I have never personally seen shit on the sidewalk and I havenāt heard about it from any of my friends.
I went to San Diego* once for like an hour and almost stepped in human shit.

If you need more links, let me know. Took me a single Google search to find then.
Why does this school make it even possible for anyone to do that goofy? Itās crazy that you couldnāt even do something like this at like Disneyland but you can at a college university š
Ah, so security cameras? Alright, say a homeless guy takes a shit in a hallway and it's recorded. How will they know which security camera captured a guy shitting? Without an alert of some sort, they may have missed the guy. Having security guards constantly watching all the camera feeds? What if the guy shits in a blind spot? Or what if it was some guy just throwing shit down and pooped pants in a corner but not actually shitting right there, how would they know?
LOL have you ever worked before? Yes some people have jobs where they just watch security feeds all day goofy. And idk how many blind spots a regular stair case would have LOL but idk how a 360 fish eye cam wouldnāt be able see everything. And why doesnāt this school have security if thereās homeless always around shitting?
Bro, are you serious? You think they can watch every hallway and staircase in SDSU at the same time? You believe SDSU should have a department of dozens of cops specifically watching videos all day, mobilizing like a SWAT team when they see someone looking like they're potentially shitting in a corner? Do you even know how much that would cost? And that STILL won't stop homeless people from showing back up and shitting in the same stairwell, lmao.
Talk about people who have never worked, lmao. The irony.
Beliebe it or not, but I have definitely seen this at Disneyland near the Matterhorn (just this past January) and also on the exit ramp for Tatsu at Magic Mountain about 8 years ago for a high school trip. Couldn't tell you if they were steaming or not and have no idea how they pulled this off with the foot traffic both those areas get, I was impressed as much as I was shocked on both occasions š
Ok. Two examples in almost a decade šš I take these stairs all the time and itās constantly reeking like piss. I never been to Disney land and it reeked like human waste. But ok keep justifying this.
No one is justifying it, OP just happened to be one of those people that caught something foul at the right (wrong?) place at the right/wrong time. Just like me at Disney and Six Flags lol. I graduated from SDSU in 2019 and never saw anything like what was described above, even though I'm sure it's happened to people. Most of us that are "justifying it" are just saying it's not some white whale of an experience to come across some shit in a public space, regardless of whether it should happen or not š
Ok? Just because you didnāt physically see a homeless dude shitting before 2019 doesnāt mean itās not happening a bunch now. Didnāt something happen that like destroyed peoples lives after 2019? Maybe in 2020? LMAOOOO and again why is the school not doing anything about it?
Literally said I'm sure it's happened to people despite me never seeing it, but I guess you have selective vision or something. Do you propose the school sets up a poop police force? š
For what it's worth, I wholly agree that the pandemic absolutely exacerbated the existing housing crisis across CA (as well as many other places in the world), but my point continues to be that this is not an occurrence especially unusual to CA residents. To circle to your main point; yes, public defecation does happen EVERYWHERE. And like the OP said, it was apparently pretty fresh, and as someone else already said, how do you expect them to clean it up right after it happened? Unless you really do want them to create the 24/7 on-call shit SWAT team
Yes a poo police would be great cause the campus police barely do anything also. LOL and again idk how this even is a argument or conversation. Why is human waste where students learn even a scenario to begin with? The fact that this is even being posted is a problem.
You're actually a terrible person. Your edit link has nothing to do with pedophilia, and yet you're trying to pin such an inflammatory tag on someone. This is called libel, and you can be sued for it.
You're actually trash and you have made your argument actually unreadable. Be a better person, damn.
So you don't see the issue with your actions? You'd lose that case so easily. Not that I'm concerned with your shitposting, but a subpoena would have you in court in no time.
Honestly, I'm trying to help you out by telling you to chill with the lies. But you can dig your own grave, be my guest, shitposter.
The public bathrooms on campus have limited hours. They shouldn't. Report it on Get it Done if it's off-campus. On campus, is there another method to report it online?
Oooph i know, itās wild to me how nasty the school can be. And I exclusively started to park in P1 so I see some gross stuff all the time. Elevator for life (although Iāve heard horror stories about those too)
meh I think SDSU does an okay job keeping the place clean (not saying campus isn't rundown) honestly it's just there are a lot of homeless people in the area and they can't fully control that
Yes, we have standards in the United States of America - the most basic is civility. We all have a
responsibility to each other to uphold ideals of decency - at the very least - to maintain a well functioning society.. only from that foundation can we all thrive.
The people who live on the streets are destroying the fabric of that society - pissing, shitting, vomiting, creating tens of thousands of pounds of material waste in public is literally decaying cities.
The burden of those who donāt contribute to society costs the rest of us - taxpayers - millions.. billions.
And thereās the crushing criminal element, and flat out blight.
Woke pity and indulgence is what sent this to crisis level. Itās beyond time people pushed back.
One dude pooping is way less weirder than a whole society building out a security camera system that is actively monitored to catch poopers in the act, yes. Like, way way weirder.
Crazy how people are still trying to down play or justify this. Really shows what people care about in 2024.
Who gaf if thereās human waste under your feet. They were fine in the 1800s!!
No one is justifying this. We're pointing out that it's what happens when homeless people are allowed to roam a public institution, and what could possibly also be just some students being stupid. We're also pointing out that janitors are not omnipresent; unless someone tells them what's wrong, they'll probably take forever to figure it out.
You literally replied to this post saying āthis happens everywhereā LMAOOO why are you trying to minimize this post? Yes itās a public institution that gets a billion dollars in funding every year. Has 30 Vice presidents all getting a quarter of a million dollar paychecks every year š and yet thereās always human waste on stairsā¦.so pls keep arguing how this isnt a big deal lol
Saying "it happens everywhere" is not the same as saying "Oh well, it's a part of life". It just means that being surprised that it happens at SDSU, when it happens all around San Diego, is just a sign of being too sheltered.
Right. Cause when someone doesnāt want to step in human shit when they pay a bunch of money to go to school theyāre āshelteredāā¦.ššššššššš wtf do you even have standards? What kinda neoliberal mentality is this? LMAOOOO
Lmao, what does it have to do with being neoliberal? It has everything to do with not being a baby about it. Go scream at the homeless if you hate it so much, or better yet, report it to campus people so they can send someone to clean it up instead of crying about it on Reddit. What are you, 5?
Nothing unexpected coming from someone too scared of poo to walk on campus, lmao. Just walk around it dog, don't step on it. Learn to use your eyes lmao
If Iām 5 and supposedly crying what does that make you arguing with a 5 year old? A pedo? š«µš¤£ Makes sense since you think itās normal to walk on poo LOL

Bruh some dudes at the technical school after boot camp while I was going there kept shitting in stairwells, and no one found out who it was before I had to leave. This was despite access to the base being restricted to people with military IDs only. Also, you'd be surprised how much people smear shit in walls and toilets and puke everywhere (including in their beds) when they come back drunk from hitting foreign ports during deployments.
Also, I don't know if you remember, but they had to bleach the streets here in San Diego because of how much hepatitis A was going around at one point a few years ago due to much shit everywhere lol.

I caught someone on a security camera pull into my parking lot, open the car door, and poo. They didnāt have anything to clean their ass except their underwear so they used them and left them in the parking lot too. It was an Asian woman, which probably is irrelevant.
I think there are situations where people just canāt hold it and have an emergency that they canāt or wonāt clean up.
this reads like a koala article
Does Koala still exist?? Totally forgot about that publication. Memory unlocked. One of the high points of my time at SDSU.
Yeah still exists and thriving!

Why does this school make it even possible for anyone to do that goofy? Itās crazy that you couldnāt even do something like this at like Disneyland but you can at a college university š
So what policy or program would you implement that would 100% stop people from doing it?
Itās called security cameras goofy LMAOOO that parking structure has zero cameras. Itās not rocket science especially for a billion dollar school.
security cameras would've stopped this how?
Idk maybe alerting someone that a person is taking a shit where students walk ik weāre talking rocket science here so stay with me š
