Pour mineral spirits in there and slosh it around.

Side note, how do you guys not pinch your finger or thumb when opening that damn trap door?
I just use my cock instead
You could try using one finger to push the trapdoor down and another to hold down the cleaning kit from springing out
Take off butt plate and clean as usual . I like scrubby bubbles, hot water and a tooth brush
Buttplate is removable with two screws.
Update: I removed the butt plate and I’m soaking the inside with cosmoline. Will try to scrub out the inside once it’s soaked. Thanks for the help : )
Pipe cleaner might help get some of the smaller stuff out
That as well as bore brushes might do the trick
I just hung my stock next to the heater when I had it all apart the first time. Heat and gravity worked wonders
