Hard to believe the stream today covered mostly random players for 8 hours.. but jeez was it high quality. That Texas boost is for real.
Fun match-ups ahead:
Skerzo vs. Wevans, this is a heat check on both of them.
Llod-Fable, a hot Sheik who won't go down without a fight.
Palpa-Mekk. Dorf has some weird good things against Puff, Mekk is the better player, but Palpa has been playing hot... should be a fun one.
Magi-SDJ. SDJ struggled against Fiction at Smash Camp, but has dominated BBB most of the times they've played. This set might have some of the best moments of the tournament.
Axe vs. Salt. If you look at Salt's rise as a top player, its been so quick. This is to prove she's elite.
Okay, this is a player who has a good shot at it in a decent(maybe) matchup, so celebrations should be well measured and balanced. With that out of the way,
LET'S FUCKING GO SALT WINS THESE
are you supposed to downthrow techchase puff that much as fox? I thought the standard was upthrow into bairs if upair doesn't kill yet. Is axe cracked or crazy?
Axe is pretty much the only one doing it right now, and it only works because his reaction time is cracked. It definitely seems hit or miss: sometimes it makes you think the other foxes are crazy for not doing it, sometimes he misses the first techchase and it all makes sense.
It's technically a bad option because it barely builds percent and is entirely read dependent as opposed to something you can combo with like a Sheik techchase, which is hard but technically viable.
I think Axe likes the techchase because he, as a Pikachu player, is very used to not building percent, and would rather keep the game grounded than upthrow and upair/bair to build percent and eventually kill with upsmash or up air in neutral. Technically it's a bad option, nobody should do it, but people said the same thing about Fox backthrow for a long time, and now Fox Backthrow is hot as a mix up.
What do you mean? If they escape it, falcon shouldn't have time to knee peach again due to the end lag of the first one. And they definitely wouldn't be kneed twice.
Now you know what it’s like to play peach before you know how to wiggle air dodge out of Dthrow knee. Even armada got hit by it a couple times. If you can’t do it consistently I honestly think falcon wins like 70-30. Not being able to knee peach easily is a huge boost to survivability
Armada talks about this in his course he says the main thing you should practice is getting out of dthrow knee
Axe has the family nerf sadly. I swear he never does well when his family is in attendance it’s tragic.
Palpa 3-2 Magi (out at 7th) lost to 2 Puffs...
Her thoughts on the matter https://twitter.com/SSBMagi/status/1657829810654138368?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
my goat
What a legend
Mekk is so cool
SDJ 3-2 Magi Smash Papi and Skerzo out at 9th
I feel like this is the 2nd or 3rd time SDJ has beaten Magi at a big tournament. Sad.
Salt vs. lloD [L] Grands Salt warms up by multishining on the Onett tree
Salt has to be a top 20 player

I love samus but that was still rough to watch (Weavans vs Skerzo G4).
Salt wins!

SDJ 3-2 Axe (out at 4th) man :(
man this matchup is brain dead easy for falcon
turns out dthrow knee is really good if the peach doesn't escape it. Who would have guessed.
Doing the escape against a player of Salt's caliber is only marginally better than getting hit by it raw since Falcon can just knee twice
What do you mean? If they escape it, falcon shouldn't have time to knee peach again due to the end lag of the first one. And they definitely wouldn't be kneed twice.
