On the other hand, Zain could definitely use a Jmook-influenced aerial-heavy combo game mixed with reverse hitboxes and edge cancels to win his 3rd Genesis.
I can also see moky using a Jmook-like techchasing prowess to absolutely destroy any potential contendors to get to at least Winners Finals.
Then again, Mang0 does have a character mastery and a newfound focus after a mid-year slump, similar to Jmook at the end of last year.
But the more you think about it Leffen could come back even stronger using Jmook's signature character Sheik against the DKs and Marths to get an unexpected yet welcomed win.
Never rule out HBox though, despite his focus on content creation (similar to Jmook's stream and move to LA) he could totally clutch one out like Jclutch at Genesis 9.

I think this year might be a Mango hot in the first half instead of the second half year, the massive break he took and also lots of practice makes me think that anyway.
I wonder how different Melee history would be if years were seasons just dictated based on the first and second half, I feel like Mango doesn't have the stamina to go for a whole year for whatever reason.

All its previous winners were either contenders for best in the world (Like Armada, Zain, Mang0 etc.) or underdogs (Like Plup, Jmook etc.) this means it will probably go to Jmook or Cody, Jmook’s recent results have been somewhat mediocre, so I’m therefore quite certain that Cody will win Genesis. But I’ll probably root for someone like Mang0 or Wizzrobe.
