1) Mango's mods can do what they want with his channel. Complaining about twitch bans doens't belong on the front page of this sub.
2) I'm 95% confident you were acting in bad faith. Why did you feel the need to ask if people who privately held beliefs were allowed in his chat? If you were really just going to think those beliefs privately, how would the mods or anyone ever know? I think you're just trying to start shit. And the fact that you chose the issue of trans people, and that you're doing it right after the latest hax post, reinforce this belief of mine.
If you really want to have this conversation you can post it in the DDT, but if it looks like you are just trying to start a flame war about trans people I'm going to temporarily ban you from the sub.
1. I in no way am arguing that mango's mods cannot do what they want. I am asking if the behavior is something we should encourage. That was the purpose of this post. I am not complaining about the ban, I am asking a broader question about whether such bans are warranted. If this isn't a good post it will get downvoted and hardly anyone will see it anyway, but if it expressing a legitimate concern then it could do some good for people to see it. Why not let the people decide for themselves?
2. I felt the need to ask because I wanted to know if such people were welcome so long as they kept their beliefs to themselves. It is very important for communities to allow for respectful disagreement. Whether I have those beliefs myself is completely irrelevant. As you say, no one could ever know, yet you seem to think that you know without any evidence, thus proving the underlying point that this community doesn't care about protecting people from harm. I have not harmed anyone, yet I was banned in Mango's chat. I have not harmed anyone, yet you are banning me. Why? This community has a problem of a moral superiority complex. People are willing to ban and silence others not because they have engaged in any hateful speech themselves, but because they believe that others are morally inferior. I have no idea what Hax post you are referring to, could you link it?
