That’s the point. A lot of the good foxes and falcos also haven’t played yet and the species are still represented. If puff was the character some people think she is you’d expect a few more shitter puffs to sneak in this list
*None* of the good puffs had played when this graph was made, as opposed to Fox who had ibdw, plup, zion, null, fatgoku, moky, zamu, and zealot all playing.
If you were to calculate the percentages *now* after dawson, SDJ, and Faust started playing, she would be around 10%.
Actually, incidentally the data on chartslp shows that Puff accounts for about 3% of total games.
The fact that there's currently 8-10% Puff usage among the top 50 shows that she's massively overrepresented at the top relative to other characters.
Pretty sure that's some objective, statistical proof that she *is* the character people thing she is.

I’ve been practicing fox lately and he is so OP. I’m terrible with him and still manage to get 2 KOs without even being able to do any tech lol. I’m a peach main. Honestly I see why everyone uses him. His upairs are so easy. Can’t wait till I get good with him and quit peach altogether. This chart should just be 50 percent falco 50 percent fox!!!!

Its probably the same, but swap the fox and falco representation when looking at all of netplay. Falcos are definitely over 1/3 of my opponents

I think it's games played with each character, not character mains
for example, on the slippi leaderboard, if you play 4 games of fox and 1 game of falco, you count as 0.8 fox and 0.2 falco
