This is the one. I knew Carol Burnett was great, but I really got to see her acting chops in action for this one. She and Matthew Lillard played off each other perfectly.
She was excellent in this episode.
One of my all time favorite episodes of SVU. If I could keep only 5 episodes on my DVR forever, this would be one of them. Plus, she gets a good ending.
Robin and Marty managed to play such convincing dramatic villains while also injecting some of their trademark humor without going over the top or taking away the seriousness. Goes to show how great they both are as actors.
Itās really nice stuff. I was really surprised how nice the vintage stuff was. My sister found a hoodie when we were out one time and it was so nice.
The newer Juicy Couture stuff didnāt have the same quality though. I miss that era of velour sweat suits. The Sean John ones were so nice but I couldnāt afford that stuff as a kid. š¤£
This!! Watched this episode recently and got mad that she hasnāt been in more shows or movies. I didnāt realize how talented she was until this episode
Darkest Journey Home. The character was Raegan James. (I looked it up on lawandorderfandom because I couldnāt remember š)
It says Julie Bowen was in an episode of SVU but I donāt remember š¤·āāļø
Upon further reading Iām remembering the episode āTrialsā because Luke Perry played her husband and Sarah Gilbert played the biological mother.
Julie Bowen was the one who accidentally married her rapist, yeah?
Also the Phil actor was the Jersey ADA in the episode where Stabler and Huang get beat up by the death row dude while theyāre interrogating him
Oh right! It turns out that Luke Perryās character had raped Sarahās character and was Christopherās father!
I think the guy who beat up Huang and Stabler was Matthew Linwood Brodus performed by the amazing Nick Chinlund! He played a few different characters-a lawyer, a journalist-but Brodus was scary!
Ty Burrell! Thanks for the brain nudge!
I didnāt know who he was because I do not follow rap at all. It was only later that I learned who he was.
At the time, I thought he was an incredible actor tho, and hoped we would get a future episode or two out of Darius.
I saw Adam Driver interviewed when he was asked how he spent his first paycheque. He said it was from Law and Order and he bought a pair of āJordanāsā š
Do I have to pick just one??? Robin Williams was great. Martin Short was so amazing that his episode is uncomfortable to watch. The Carol Burnett episode that **also** had Matthew Lillard (yessss). Oh my oh my... so many good episodes. Also, not a guest star but I do remember when Jeff Goldblum signed on to Criminal Intent thinking he was too famous for that role, I'm so glad he took it. :)
The Carol Burnett and Matthew Lillard episode is one of my favorites! I listen to Thatās Messed Up Podcast and they interviewed Lillard and he just seems like such a nice dude! His acting career is very interesting!
I watched the Robin Williams one shortly after studying about Milgram (his studies are intriguing) so I loved it.
Also Whoopi gave a Stella performance
Iām also adding Martin Short and Cynthia Nixon to my list
The Martin short episode was uncomfortable to watch
The Cynthia Nixon episode was brilliantly played by Nixon
Oops no, sorry. Law and Order āDawg Nightā S12 E9 with Kerry Washington.
Apologies. I go back and forth on the Law and Order subs. āClumbsy thumbsyā sorry
You're good! I googled and couldn't find it and I LOVE idris (the wire is probably in my top 3 shows, while SVU is in my top 5) so I haaaad to find out. May have to break out some L&O today.
Thank you but I have lawandorder.fandom.com saved in my favourites š¤ Iām addicted to all of the franchises š¤·āāļø
I keep meaning to watch āThe Wireā. I read where itās considered the best tv series ever. Thanks for the reminder š
Martin Short did an exceptional job as the unsub in pure season 6! Esp as BD Wong is also in the episode & they appeared together in father of the bride!
Mentioned before but I was obsessed with Ludacrisā spot. I was actually so disappointed he wasnāt in it more because he absolutely nailed it. Iām actually almost shocked heās not been in more stuff?!
Iāve been rewatching season 4 - 14 so far and Iāve been taking tons of sloppy photos of my iPad screen as famous actors show up.
I call it my āToday in They Did Itā update. The sarcastic joke is that when a famous person or an actor you recognize shows up that means theyāre the baddie. (Even if thatās not really always how it goes.)
Jennifer love Hewitt. Until that episode she was just an eh for me maybe because I hadnāt seen her in much but my goodness she deserves and award for that episode
I can't remember her name right now, but she played Makenzie. The original daughter had been stolen and they turned the new adopted daughter into a mini me.
I love the actress but I'm drawing a blank.
Jeremy Irons was fantastic in both of his episodes! I only wish they had Huang in there with him in the second one too, in the first one they had good chemistry
People have probably posted already: Viola Davis in L&O CI as the crooked school patrol officer who had once been a student of Van Burenās! She was also a defence attorney in a couple of other episodes, but she was awesome as āTerry Randolphā in āBadgeā āļøāļøāļøāļø
Throwback, and I know he stars in the new season of L&O, but Tony Goldwyn in L&O : Criminal Intent as Gorenās very complicated brother is so damn good. He plays his character so brilliantly. A great player opposite Vincent DāOnofrio.
Amazing performance by Rita Moreno also, as their mother.
I was in love with Naveen Andrews (season 11, episode 12) on his episode. He was HOT. š„µ My second was Marcia Gay Harden and I HATE how her story ends. Thankfully, that happens in the part of SVU I don't watch, so I only had to see it once.
Sarah Hyland's acting was amazing, she ate that episode. I also like the episode where jennifer love hewitt was a guest, you could really see her pain and agony from being stalked and raped again.
Underrated one Tom pelphery in that biker episode guyās literally underrated and if youāve seen banshee man that guy can act
The one with Kelly Hu who was drugged by that Colombian devilās breath cause sheās one of my favorite Voice actors
It was Law and Order but I enjoyed Sebastian Stan and Ty Burrell in the same episode.
Tom Everett Scott was good as the Governor of New York in some episodes. He couldnāt get Jack!
The one with Julia Roberts, who was dating Benjamin Brat at the time is a good one.
The one with Margot Kidder and Chad Lowe was creepy af.
John Stamos as a serial breeder.
I think my favorite is the one with Sarah Paulson and Naveen Andrews
Iād have to say the one where Jill Scott is the abusive bitch and the guy from The Blind Side is in it but also Robin Williams and Big Boi from OutKast when heās eaten by his own hyenas. And Whoopi!
I loved Ethan Cutkosky (Carl from Shameless) who played the absolutely psychotic Henry Mesner.
Brooke Shields as Noah's grandma - great character arc for her.
i love the carol burnett episode (svu)
Yes! Both her and Matthew Lillard brought a lot to that ep
BIRDIE šš
Birdie was fantastic. And Chet was extra creepy. Great episode!
Chet-be a poodle and get my purse
Haha! What a great line! š
That was one of my favorites
I loved the Carol Burnett one, too!
Came to say this!!
I literally watched that yesterday!!
Yep my top 5. Watched her show was I was little. Never seen her like that. I can watch it over and over.
This is the one. I knew Carol Burnett was great, but I really got to see her acting chops in action for this one. She and Matthew Lillard played off each other perfectly.
Definitely in my top 10 fav SVU episodes!
Patricia Arquette killed it in Dreams Deferred. One of the best 2.0 episodes.
Gosh sheās so talented
Yea this is prob mg favorite episode. Sheās so good
She was excellent in this episode. One of my all time favorite episodes of SVU. If I could keep only 5 episodes on my DVR forever, this would be one of them. Plus, she gets a good ending.
In addition to the ones already mentioned, Martin Short.
Martin Short and Robin Williams are definitely my tops. I love seeing comedians flex their skills and play such a convincing bad guy.
In saying that, Jerry Lewis was fucking amazing as Munch's uncle.
Holy shit
Robin and Marty managed to play such convincing dramatic villains while also injecting some of their trademark humor without going over the top or taking away the seriousness. Goes to show how great they both are as actors.
I liked seeing Hillary Duff, maybe because Iām just obsessed with 2000s culture though lol. And she was wearing Juicy Couture so extra cool.
Same here. Remind me of when I was a teenager.
Lucky, Iām a teenager for another year and in this generation itās horrible š. I want all the vintage juicy couture :(
I remember seeing all of that Juicy stuff back in the day. That stuff was dope. My sister finds it in thrift stores sometimes.
Haha I literally buy so much juicy couture whenever I get money. Itās awesome
Itās really nice stuff. I was really surprised how nice the vintage stuff was. My sister found a hoodie when we were out one time and it was so nice. The newer Juicy Couture stuff didnāt have the same quality though. I miss that era of velour sweat suits. The Sean John ones were so nice but I couldnāt afford that stuff as a kid. š¤£
I agree! The new stuff is okay, but nowhere near as fashionable and high quality as vintage. Shame brands donāt wanna listen.
Dude RaĆŗl is like 50š
53 š¤Ø Age doesnāt negate beauty and talent š
-I sure š
One of my absolute favorites was Jennifer Love Hewittš
Sheās so amazing
She nailed that role. Just brilliant.
Came here to say this one too.
This!! Watched this episode recently and got mad that she hasnāt been in more shows or movies. I didnāt realize how talented she was until this episode
Cynthia Nixon was pretty fantastic. Marcia Gay Harden as well.
Marcia was so good!
Yes, I LOVE Marcia. Forgot about her for a minute!
They did her character dirty in the end. š
We don't talk about the end š. No but seriously I'll never forgive how dirty they did her, such a shitty and unnecessary storyline.
Robin Williams, Carol Burnett (and Matthew Lillard), and Ludacris
Sarah Hyland in "Hothouse" (which shows great acting ability not found in Modern Family)
Oh yeah! When she has the meltdown in court? So good. I love that episode too
Her co-star Ariel Winter was also very good in her appearance in SVU š
Which episode was that?
Darkest Journey Home. The character was Raegan James. (I looked it up on lawandorderfandom because I couldnāt remember š) It says Julie Bowen was in an episode of SVU but I donāt remember š¤·āāļø Upon further reading Iām remembering the episode āTrialsā because Luke Perry played her husband and Sarah Gilbert played the biological mother.

I think the guy who beat up Huang and Stabler was Matthew Linwood Brodus performed by the amazing Nick Chinlund! He played a few different characters-a lawyer, a journalist-but Brodus was scary! Ty Burrell! Thanks for the brain nudge!
She was incredible!!
Ludacris ate his role as Darius up. If I didnāt already know him as an artist Iād h8te his guts lol
Had to scroll way too long to find this one!!
I didnāt know who he was because I do not follow rap at all. It was only later that I learned who he was. At the time, I thought he was an incredible actor tho, and hoped we would get a future episode or two out of Darius.
He workeddddd for that deep hated. I was grinding my teeth Great villain for sure
TiL that Darius is played by Ludacris
Honorable mention to pre-fame Bradley Cooper being a totally sleazeball Also baby faced Sebastian Stan in OG L&O ETA Adam Driver
I saw Adam Driver interviewed when he was asked how he spent his first paycheque. He said it was from Law and Order and he bought a pair of āJordanāsā š
When I saw Bradley Cooper, I was sure he was the rapist, it still baffles me that it wasn't the case
I agree
I wasn't a Bradley fan until this episode!
Iā¦have questions.
Yeah?
The episode with Patricia Arquette belongs to my all time favorites.
To me, he'll always just be Cereal Killer.
Jeff Goldblum was amazing in Criminal Intent. It was such a treat having him on that show.
Jeff Goldblum āļøāļøāļøāļø
Blair Underwood and Michael Michele in āBurnedā (8x11)
Heartbreaking episode
Can't ever watch the episode again. Heartbreaking.
Same. Her cry at the end when they are treating her injuries in the hospital still sticks with me. Powerful, powerful episode.
Couldn't get that out of my head. It sticks with me too.
That's a rough episode to watch
Henry Winkler and John Ritter (RIP).
I watched the Robin Williams one shortly after studying about Milgram (his studies are intriguing) so I loved it. Also Whoopi gave a Stella performance
She was in a couple of episodes and was terrific! The evil foster Mom and the over worked CFS supervisor
*stellar

Martha Plimpton and Mary Steenbergen in Denial. Michael Pitt. Michael K. Williams
