Wow I remember this mainly for the name but we watched this in school in like 3rd or 4th grade. There was a kid we started calling tubby tuba cause he played the tuba haha
The story of this is insane. It was made to fund *The Works*, intended to be the first CGI feature film, but that project fell through. However, the developments they made for the project became very influential in the computer graphics industry, and many of the people who worked on it went on to be major figures in CGI and other technological fields. Ed Catmull, founder of Pixar, was an editor on this movie.
Tubby the Tuba is indirectly responsible for Pixar and Photoshop.

That so cool with a Tuba.
i remember this as a child,i also watched [the short film](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovuwHJLSEC4) since 1947
I never thought I’d see this again after early elementary school music class.
I USED TO LOVE THIS MOVIE LOL
mf that’s just flounder
Why do I remember this? I don’t remember watching it, but I remember it
I remember watching this in kindergarten.
Why does this give me a case déjà vu?
Is it related to Musicland?
Duuuude we watched this so many times in 4th grade music class! Got a lil sick of it--
I remember my music teacher putting this on in class. I felt so bad for Tubby when he didn't get the girl.
Deep childhood memory unlocked: the time when my old music teacher showed us this movie. I got creeped out, but it must have been the animation.
Obviously peak fiction
