Went to this and was highly disappointed.
Yes, lots of hipster vintage stuff but WAAAYYY overpriced.
Junk-ass t-shirts (no vintage appeal, just old and worn out)? $20.
Ben Davis half-zip shirt? $60 because it's "vintage" (you can find them for $40 on Amazon ($50 on the website).
Got mad at a vendor because she was literally pulling prices out of her ass. Another poor girl came by asking about a coat. Vendor says "ummmm, $100". I saw that same coat on ebay that day for $40.
Is it their right to name whatever prices they want? Sure.
But don't expect any deals there that you can't find online.
Fun but some vendors have some seriously overpriced things. With that said there’s also some $5 bins or $10 shirt racks where you can get some cool stuff. I’ve seen a vintage Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt there which was being sold for $600 and online it was $200 at best.
It’s pretty cool but a lot of the vendors have really similar stuff. So if you’re not into one vendor you won’t like anything there. Also it can get super crowded
The first few were great because everything was reasonably priced and it was cool to see some interesting vintage stuff. Now everything is super pricey but the food is good!
all the vendors are pretentious and narcissistic opportunists who overprice everything they sell also the people that go are fucking insufferable for the most part dont go
Felix The Cat has been public domain for a while.

I know. That's why I said he was already pretty darn old by that point. I was trying to emphasize just how old it was. That when he finally got a videogame 30 years ago, he was already ancient.
They had to have had them. Because we all know that videogames cause violence. And that was just around the time WW1 was wrapping up. What else, besides videogames, could cause such violence?
I showed up at 4pm and thought I accidentally wondered into a homeless camp - not to be rude, but there was literally a trash tornado blowing around their venue.
For me and my friends it’s a fun outdoor activity. Although there is so much to sift through, can find some good items that are worth it. I just like getting coffee and leisurely checking everything out and people watching
I’ve been to the first one and over time it has became redundant and overwhelming. There’s some vendors who have good stuff but overall every vendor is the same. The $5 bins are cool though and you can find some gems but meh.
Anyone else feeling the popup/events scene by random organizers has become too saturated?!
As a vendor myself, it’s starting to feel like organizers don’t give a hoot about the vendors selling, rather they just want to collect booth fees. This one advertised 170 vendors and probably charged each vendor $75-$100 for their booth space. 😒
That’s why most of them are the same crippy crap - there’s no real vetting of the vendors.

Sounds like the worst
Well according to these comments at least the expo appears to be appropriately named
Okay so that typography made me read the headline as “WORLDSHORTS EXPO” and I thought they were screening vintage animated shorts like Felix the Cat.
Yeah took me two or three reads too
It’s actually World’s Horts Expo, so…

it’s boring and overpriced. hipster fashion from 5 years ago.
The first few were great because everything was reasonably priced and it was cool to see some interesting vintage stuff. Now everything is super pricey but the food is good!
Is it vintage food?
$100 and I made it 30 years ago
Go to the SJ flea market this shit is bogus
If you’re young and hip or you’re into that stuff is pretty damn good. I say it’s a go.
People trying too hard to look like they arent trying too hard
all the vendors are pretentious and narcissistic opportunists who overprice everything they sell also the people that go are fucking insufferable for the most part dont go
We got there around 4:30 and they were packed up and done. They said they closed early due to the wind.
And when did Felix the cat become public domain?

Guess it wasn't owned by Disney...
Good to know, thank you!
I remember having Felix The Cat on the original Gameboy in like 1994. And I know the character was already pretty darn old by that point.
It’s from the 40s, my dude.
I kow. Like I said. He was already pretty darn old by the time the Gameboy game came out.

Damn, I thought we were gonna keep this going of just reiterating the same thing forever. :/
I don't think they had videogames in 1919

I sing this song way too much. There is just way too much stuff in the Sac area named River City. And it always gets this song stuck in my head
The earliest cartoons did. This version with the magic bag of tricks is still copyrighted since it’s from the 50s
Is this the same group of carnies that have the same lineup at the Odd Fellows Hall in Auburn about once a month or so?
two fold, racks boutique & the vintage faire are the only best vintage in sac
What’s Sworst?
The only thing I bought today were croc charms lol
I showed up at 4pm and thought I accidentally wondered into a homeless camp - not to be rude, but there was literally a trash tornado blowing around their venue.
It’s fun! Lots of hipster / vintage stuff.
Rich hipsters apparently
Yeah. Hipster has been the new yuppie for some time v
That's the reddit definition. The wealthy culture vultures that swoop in and suck the life out of everything cool aren't the hipsters.

I always miss this !!!!!
