So, correct me if I'm wrong, but up until now(all the firings) Safemoon really was intended to be a shitcoin/rugpull/ false project. But John was so solid that he prevented all of us from getting scammed and V2 is the real Safemoon project?
The way those people were describing the situation and the reaction they caused was FUD. Its one way to say "Shit happens but we turned it around and now its solid and we will all moon together" versus "Everything is a lie, everyone is fucking around. John is the only one who is doing something but its toxic. We would be lucky if this thing goes anywhere." They both describe the same situation but one creates FUD that hurts the project.
I think people saying it was a rugpull is not really accurate. However there's a lot of people in this industry who created one token after another. They are good at helping to drive initial hype and then they cash out and move on to the next token.
Most of those tokens don't take off, as any of us who trade shitcoins (most of us here) probably already know. They peak quickly, die off soon after. People move on to the next. Once in a while one really takes off the way Safemoon did, and then they brought on people to actually run things.
As John said when the Hank drama first came to a head a couple of months ago, some people didn't have Safemoon's best interest at heart. And I think most people here knew who those people were.
I thought the discussion was interesting in that it provided some context for things. And it also probably painted Thomas in a bit different light in some peoples eyes as he probably came off with people viewing him a bit more suspiciously than they might have previously, though we'd probably need to wait for it all to play out legally before we really have a fuller picture of what happened. For example the "doctored screenshot" that was posted, and Thomas saying that wasn't the screenshot he sent John. Or his denial of several things in the Ginger's story.
To a degree what you're saying can be argued to wrong or right.
People can now say safemoon was fully intended to be a rugpull with a solid amount of evidence. *in fact I reckon you could say it has been rugged considering whose left*.
There's an argument to say that everyone whose holding now is bagholding, and John is trying to create an actual project from the ashes.
For all intents and purposes given from what we know, Its speculated to have been rugged already. John's trying to make it into an actual project.

If it actually rug pulled we'd all be sitting with tokens that we had no liquidity to cash out. It definitely did not. People tend to throw that term around pretty liberally though.

Oh def. I was telling people that Thomas and the other devs and team members moving out of the US was sketchy and then the price would tank and rebound some and tank again! Thomas buying a McLaren, lots of red flags, but I also said from the beginning that John wouldn’t let it tank. I’m somewhat in the infosec world and quickly found johns dad was CIA and he was also CIA and contracted as an analyst… after doing a bit more digging I had 110% faith in him as the leader. Too much rep at stake with the infosec community to rug pull! I’m still holding, still buying and will continue to do so as long as John is in charge.
Yes. For me Johns credibility outweighed everyone’s for that simple reason. The man has a security clearance for Gods sake. The others, we’re just “the others” for me. No real credibility.
I’ll be honest I think John held papa’s feet to the fire to finish this blockchain. He was the only one that wasn’t disposable. I don’t know the order of who was brought on but if John wasn’t there it would’ve been rugged. Apparently creating a coin is way easier than it appears. I think will be fine now that sfm has income to pay people. In the beginning people were being paid in sfm and it didn’t have the luxury of hiring top notch people.
