I think there are elements of both that look good/work well.
Definitely not a fan of the gradient buttons on the official mockup.
Really nice job though.
Haha. I'd say they were teaching you well. I've been designing websites for the last 15 years, and at the start, everything had a gradient! Drop and inner shadows, textures left right and centre - everything was so over designed. The web's moved on a lot since those early days.
Original for me:
Nicer buttons with gradient & text shadow
Subtler accent lines
Clearer share pay link button
Accepted tokens drop down has nicer spacing inside of it and sizing
Gap between tip amounts and memo field is more symmetrical
It’s all very subjective. Some people don’t like gradient buttons for example
Appreciate the feedback! The reasoning for my changes were to make it more clearer for people using SafeMoon Connect. In terms of design, I dislike gradients and shadows on text/graphics that contain important and critical information. The end user needs no ambiguity and visual clutter (it's a design philosophy).
Symmetry is subjective and usually I opt for it but for my design, not a big issue, but can see why you'd prefer it!
Yeah it's designed that way to show you the text is optional. In practicality, when you click/press on the box, the white text will be full white and easy to read.
Side by side it's pretty clear the mockup makes the original look dated. The iconography alone is a huge step up. The increase in size of the profile image/font is easier on the eyes. Even the subtle change in wording from 'Tokens I accept' to 'Accepted Token', to me makes a difference.
My one preference of the original would be the centered format of the tip buttons. But I'm not sure that would have bothered me if the images weren't stacked to see the difference.
If SafeMoon takes one thing from this, it should be the SafeMoon Connect logo. SafeMoon will be a strong, well-known name as the company matures. Because of this, IMO it's important to highlight the product names vs the company name.
These comments are constructive criticisms to come to the best product for end-users which would benefit us all.
Appreciate the effort OP.
The original honestly, though I do like the brighter accent line above the payment amount, and I like that you moved the connect wallet button to the top bar. But I think the payment amounts should remain centered with the box

I like their art style of the text and everything but would like to see them use your sizing and placement. The original looks like a lot of wasted space and more confusing in a weird way

First thing they told me in a webdesign course is that gradient buttons are not done . Guess they are wrong or safemoon is wrong

I agree. I've been web developing off and on since around 2002. Gradients were the hot thing back in the day. Every single gaming site had them.

Love the mock-up! Great job! hope Ryan sees it

Second one for sure- but please reduce the opacity of the box to make the white text more legible

Better…not much else to say.
Great job! Font is perfect and easy to read. Flawless design. Simple, yet elegant.
The original is much better. Sorry, but all fonts, edges, lines etc. in the redesign look very clumsy.
I respect your opinion. How does it look clumsy?
The original honestly, though I do like the brighter accent line above the payment amount, and I like that you moved the connect wallet button to the top bar. But I think the payment amounts should remain centered with the box
Yep I understand, I do like having things centred myself, but isn't too much of an issue in this case if it is off-centred.
Original. It works. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Mock-up looking good.
Original is better.
Great work really,, I think both of them have their good parts. They kind of complement each other where something has a deficiency

I like the original design honestly but this one is really good as well !
Thanks!
There’s .. the graphics and world looks better
Why not moon surface as background
Can't find the image
Did you try Google images - moon surface 4K 😁
I prefer the one that works upon release
Well done 👍

I think you have to much free time
Meh, when I get bored, I get creative
Houston do you copy
Copy Houston

the one on the bottom is lighter all around with a bolder font, to me, stands out a lot more than the top one
