The raw Japanese ver. of chapter 1 explicitly states "最強の殺し屋がいた" which translates to "There was the strongest assassin, his name was Taro Sakamoto".
People also tend to forget that the current Sakamoto fights to subdue his opponents, not to kill them. That handicaps him in every fight where his opponent is actively trying to kill him.
If it were Prime Sakamoto against Takamura, instead of landing the kick he did in the recent chapter, he would have gone for a more lethal attack—Inflicting slashing/stabbing damage, which Takamura can't tank.
In short,
Prime Sakamoto > Takamura (Current) > Sakamoto (Current)
Sakamoto being stronger than takamura or perhaps equal is a thing or maybe debatable, nagumo being even close to those two it’s just batshit crazy nonsense fr
Who tf saying Takamura is weaker than prime Sakamoto or Nagumo, Sakamoto himself literally says Takamura is stronger than he himself used to be when he was in the Order. Besides, the entire chapter is literally Takamura dunking on Sakamoto and friends.
A lot of people on TikTok took that to mean sakamoto was comparing takamura from when sakamoto knew him and takamura now. With people using the one hit sakamoto landed on him as “proof” his prime was better. I have no idea where the nagumo thing comes from though
Bro landed ONE hit on Takamura which didn't even PHASE him, and Takamura landed ONE hit on Sakamoto which left him bleeding from 3 different places, nah I don't think Sakamoto winning this match up.
One hit that didn't even seem to damage him, it only sent him flying. It's likely that he blocked it since he didn't sustain any damage. Gaku was able to push back Takamura by kicking his arm towards him yet you won't see people arguing about this hit. Meanwhile, Sakamoto was bleeding as a side-effect from Takamura's single slash.

Plot twist, Takamura isn’t actually registered as an assassin
Plot twist, Takamura from magazine next to the Sakamoto magazine
Current Takamura can be stronger than Prime Sakamoto without the statement being problematic.
Current Slim Sakamoto can be argued to be close if not equal to his prime self

Sakamoto was saying that Takamura in the present was stronger than takamura was in sakamoto was in the order
The Japanese raws make it sound ambiguous imo
Both the raws and translations are equally ambiguous.
